If I do my online checkin prior to my traveling partner doing hers, will our boarding time be the same since we are on the same reservation? Or could she end up with a different time when she does it? I hope this makes sense. I’m traveling with my adult daughter who is a kindergarten teacher so she’ll need to wait to checkin after her school,day. Thank you for the help!

I cannot seem to confirm that there is a boat company at the Old Port to take my daughter and I to Oia. I read conflicting reports. Can anyone confirm there is such a service for June of 2023? Thank you!

I’ve read almost all of the posts about booking flights through NCL particularly noting the pros and cons. Unfortunately I did all the reading after I had already added the flight to our cruise. Has anyone flown from the west coast (San Francisco) to Rome using NCL flight booking? I’m trying to get an idea of what airlines they use because all of my ‘pretend’ bookings put me on airlines I’m not familiar with. Thanks!

I was thinking about just booking the Spanish option. My daughter’s high school Spanish may come in handy. We really are just about the sites. I I looked on cruisemapper for the port schedule and we are the last ones into port and the last one out. Maybe this is advantage?

Thank you for the thoughts. I’m in the weighing all the options part of my planning. The only thing my daughter requested on this cruise is a trip to Oia. Of course nothing is available in English from the ship. The beach transfer is free with our excursion credits. 🤫

I’ve learned so much already reading these boards 🙂. Now, I am trying to figure out our time in Santorini. I’m on the NCL Breakaway in June. We are their 2:00-10:00 (as scheduled) with 3 other smaller ships in port that day. As I mentioned before, I’m concerned about number of people trying to tender to the old port. Since I booked our cruise so late the only shore excursion left is the beach transfer. Can I just use the shore excursion to get us to the new port of Athinos and have a private tour pick us up there? I see a number of tours with the option to pickup up at that port when I search. I know I would need to be sure the NCL tour leader knows we are leaving, but will it be frowned upon? TIA

I am taking my first cruise in over 10 years in a couple of months. My daughter and I are headed to the Mediterranean on NCL. I am too late to book an excursion through the ship, so will need to do Santorini on our own. I actually prefer booking my own excursions anyway. However, I’ve read a lot about the tender ports and am a bit concerned about having to tender to the old port. I am wondering… what is an optimal time to leave the ship? Should I wait a couple of hours to miss the crowd? Or is that just a waste of time since we are in port 2:00 - 10:00. I appreciate any thoughts and tips. Thank you!
