Depends on who is pouring.  At home, I am about four glasses to a bottle, on the ship they usually have a lighter hand so it's about 5.

We were buying wine by the glass on one Royal cruise.  Whoever was pouring was trying to get 6 pours out of the bottle.  We then bought our glasses of wine at a bar we frequented on the way to the dining room.  Just a option.

Then you have to wait to sign up until you are onboard, if its not sold out. I couldn't book a bird watching excursion in Belize. I was 1 year over at the time. I was told it was insurance, sorry. Why you cant be over 70 to see birds in Belize even sillier, just walk in peoples yards in town.

Good point.  Face to face encounter.  I like it.

  3. Well after years of cruising we finally got my DW 2 high school friends to join us on the Radiance of the Sea February cruise.  Since I normally take care of our cruises I was tasked on collecting and collating excursions.  Today the sale started and I found the snorkeling excursion we have taken twice before in Belieze .  and positively loved it.  I alerted my DW and she alerted her friends and it was a go.  Then the best of time and the worst of times happened.  When I tried to book it something was amiss.  I could not highlight my name on the passengers.  I put my readers on and saw a age limit.  I went to original scree and there is a 70 years old limit. I am north of 70 my DW is south of 70.  So I said what that ends that.  I heard "hold on Sparky my friends and I are going!  Looks like a shuffleboard, and canasta for me.  I reminded of a song from a simple time "Lonely, I'm Mr Lonely..........Kudos to Bobby Vinton.

It is indeed a Greek wine from Lafazanis winery. Perhaps the varietal is on the bottle, but it's all in Greek, so it's Greek to me.

It's a basic 10 euro red table wine. Adequate but nothing to get excited about.

Not to hijack your thread.  But as bad is it in the Lou to get Spanish wines (forget the whites) we will do a little scouting to find Greek wines.  Never had Greek wines and now its high on our list.

IF I could bring a full bottle of wine on board in Athens, that I bought in Athens (which I did),

THEN why was a much smaller bottle of ouzo that I bought in Santorini, held in Santorini for delivery at the end of the cruise? (which it was)

Just curious.  Was the wine a Greek wine?  If so what type grape?  If it was Greek was it worth drinking?  Inquiring minds want to know.

  6. Here my experience with boomboxes.  In the 90's I took public transportation to and from work.  In the morning my journey was uneventful.  On my way home not so much.  when I boarded the bus for my 4 mile trip home I was greeted with three to four boomboxes,   Everyone of the on a different station and the volume cranked to mach 5!  The twenty minute trip was so painful and the bus driver was not going to scold the youths.  Thankfully they all go off at a shopping mall.  Guess what they always did when they vacated the bus.  THEY TURNED THEIR BOOM BOXES DOWM!!!

  7. I don't know if the same procedure as Royal Caribbean .  But just in case.  I did this type of dining request earlier this year.  It was returned with instructions that on subject line had to contain ship, sailing date, and our reservation number. Second attempt was successful.  Just Saying....

I've been to Copenhagen. 🙂 Lovely city. I hope you had a great time there and cruise.

Matter of fact we did.  Did a three day post cruise in Copenhagen.  We bought a Copenhagen pass and saw the the bright lights, and sights.

Is this a port you usually cruise from? 🙂

We do cruises from Europe from time to time, but definitely not every year.

Usually it is 4 cruises from Bayonne, NJ and one from Baltimore.

My goodness no.  We are in the Midwest.  It was a lame attempt at satire.  You know driving from the Lou to Copenhagen.  It was a Baltic Sea cruise on the Voyager.

  10. After COVID lockdown and cruising started ramping up.  We junp started cruising.  We had 4 cruises lined up. First cruise no issues.  Second cruise not so much.  Airlines were “losing” luggage at an alarming rate.  Of course one of our luggage was somewhere in luggage purgatory.  That was the first of our three 11 day cruise. Not to be undone by the airlines we did the next 2 eleven day cruise’s carryon only. The only way we pulled it off was the laundry perk. Just sayin.

  11. Long time ago we went to blind wine tasting presented by a liquor store.  We paid a nominal fee for 5 to 6 wines from France, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Chile, California.  It was presented in a large hall.  I estimate capacity to be 100.  After a wine was served we judged it on a twenty point system (color, nose, swirl, taste,).  After all the scores were tabulated the results were announced.  It went like this first wine shrouded with a bag was removed and the varietal were revealed. Example Malbecs from Argentina.  Then the price and score.  We found not always was the highest priced wine scored the highest.  Biggest takeaway from this was if a reasonably priced wine scored the highest you better be at the liquor store when it opened before the bin was empty. We learned a lot about wines to say the least.

  12.   Celebrity runs the Constellation out of Tampa for Marci Gras with an overnight.  This cruise only has two ports.  Progreso, and New Orleans.  I think the cruise you are looking at is for 2026.  It’s a bit early for excursions.
