  1. In just booked for March 2020 last week. Would love to be able to switch my booking to Cad $. Who knows what the exchange will be by the time the final payment is due. Does anyone feel that having booked with an agent would complicate this vs booking direct?

  2. We have the easy drink package included with our booking for March 2020 on MSC Meraviglia. I have been reading forum posts and other websites but there is a lot of conflicting info/opinions on my first 2 questions. The others I just thought of😃

    1. Appreciate if some folks who have recently sailed and had the easy package included as a promotion vs having added it separately, please advise if we will be charged a gratuity per drink onboard.

    2. Does anyone have examples of what you were able to drink in terms of mixed drinks under $6? Doesn't seem like there would be much, and I realize it is a very basic package. We don't have to have top shelf liquor. I am happy with vodka/soda, rum punch, and if I have to buy a few pina coladas over and above the package I am good with that.

    3. Anyone know what white wine they offer as part of the package? Brand doesn't matter too much, hoping they have sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio.

    4. Do minors receive a non alcoholic package or no perk? I don't see any mention of them in the details of the promotion.

We booked through an agent, and much earlier than we usually do.  We did not get any info from MSC as we did on a prior cruise on Seaside. Not sure if it is because we used an agent this time, or if I need to login and look for my booking inclusions/contract.

Thank you to anyone who can clarify. Any suggestions or tips welcome!

  3. I'm interested as well. We just booked 11390 aft cabin for March 2020. Also have been on Seaside, and we think Meraviglia is so beautiful we had to book it.  Danny, I was wondering about the room configurations and studied the deck plans while I was booking. The interior are 170 square feet (ish). The legend indicates bunks. It would make sense that there isn't space for a couch, and I haven't seen any pictures or images showing a couch in the interior. Those most likely are the ones from the ceiling. The balcony cabins are larger and the pictures show a couch in the cabin. If the cabin is for 4 these couches can  turn into bunk beds by popping up, and they also have these on Seaside. If anyone else is reading this and can't quite visualize a "bunk couch". Not sure what else it would be called - see picutre  LOL.

  4. When you embark you can pick up your VIP card at the photo desk. You register it to which ever card you choose. On our sailing all the photographers asked for the room key.  If you give the wrong one you can ask to have the pictures moved over to the VIP pass at anytime during the cruise. If you are travelling with others in another stateroom, (friends/extended family) you can take group shots and they will put them on your pass as well.

  5. Two years ago I was on Oasis and a dog ran onto the ice rink during a performance. Dangerous for the performers who are already having to deal with a moving ice rink. I have never seen a dog on a cruise ship before and wondered how this obviously non service dog was allowed onboard. And to have them in the dining room!? Where on land are you allowed to bring a dog (except service dog) in a place where food is served.

Went in March. We had a wonderful time. Saw 4 shows and no opera but we wouldn't have minded really if one of them had been. Loved 3, one was just ok. Different is good in my opinion. Food was great. Our dining room staff were superb and everything was hot to the table! The ship is very beautiful, a little unusual to navigate but afte the first day you will know your way around! There are lots of videos online too, look for ones in the last few months for more accurate reviews. Quite a few on the food if that is your thing."xrockitupxtravels" has a lot on the food. Jim also didn't like the deep pools, IMO this was better cause everyone hanging around in the pool for hours drinking and, you get where I'm going with this. He commented on the wait staff having tablets for purchases. I think it was a learning curve and they are faster with them. He went quite early on. We had no issues. Bathrooms are indeed quite small. Buffet is more extensive now, shore excursion we took was very organized vs the mayhem Jim experienced. If there is anything else specific you want to know I am glad to help. Happy travels and you will love MSC Seaside if you are looking for something new with a Eupoean flair and a fantastic beautiful ship.

  7. We have the Meal time drink package as well coming up, My vwife likes Pinot Grigio I know she probably can't get this at the buffet but will she able to get it at dinner in the MDR?

I can help with this. In the dining room they offered Chardonnay for white, which I don't like at all. :')I pointed out that the package inclusion said choice of 2 white, 2 red and a rose. I tried the rose but I found it very sweet. Donna the assistant waiter asked me which wine I preferred and she said she would see what she could do. She came back a little while later with a wine menu and we settled on Sauvignon Blanc, my fav. The Marketplace only has Chardonnay in the self serve dispensers for white. There are servers walking around ready to take your drink order, and there is a call button at every table. First time I ever saw that. I never had wine there so I am not sure if they would accomodate a request. Biscayne buffet does not have a self serve. There is a bar service station. If you would like canned soda you can get it from the beverage table service waiter (Marketplace) or bar (Biscayne) there is also the soda self serve fountain in buffet. It is nice to get the can if you want to take it with you, more portable to carry outside or to your cabin.

  8. Last week it was Seashore at 6 and 8:30. Ipanema at 5:30, 7:45 and 9:45. Marketplace at 6 and 8:30, but my understanding is that Seashore was going to be changed to include 3 seatings and that Marketplace was going to be buffet only starting this week.

  9. Smell is not fixed. I was on same cruise (3/10-3/17). It is alive and well, in the jungle water park area/water slide area. It's pretty pungent, but the kids love that area, so we still hung around in it. One if my trips to the water slide I had to laugh, because the operator at the top of the slide was using his shirt to cover his nose. At the top of the slide, the sewer smell gets mixed with the smell of diesel. It's a bit much up there.

We were onboard as well last week. If you look up at the funnel you will see several orangy/yellow accordian hoses. I think this is the temporary fix to keep the smell from being drawn back into the clean air returns. Sorry for my non technical terms. I don't know these things, just something I noticed. Will try to add pic as I did take one in that area and you can see them. That being said we only smelled an odour a few times but it was never overwhelming to me. I didn't spend a ton of time in the aqua park except when we rode the waterslides. Most noticeable was when we embarked on deck 6. I called it dirty diaper smell. MY parents had an odour around day 3. They put a few cups of water down the drain by the toilet and that fixed it up.

  10. Sounds like you are having a blast. I was on last week and we enjoyed our experience. New CD this week! What is his/her name? Did you request early or late dining to get the middle time? We had early Seashore at 6pm last week.

  11. 1

Ours says "EARLY DINING" as well but it is only a "dining request" where we are Bella our chances are low of getting one of the 2 earlier (if there are 3) sittings.

Here's what I am thinking. Start a new thread so people can see your concern separate from this one. (Check too if someone else already started one, there have to be more people who are concerned about this). Something like "Requested Early Dining Bella: Seaside". Then ask for people to give you feedback on what happened with their experience. What time and dining room they ended up with. Get some help from those onboard from now till you sail. Percentagewise you have a greater chance of getting one of the four earlier ime slots than a person who wants late dining of getting what they want, especially since there is supposedly a pretty high ratio of Europeans. I hope it turns out right for you and if you draw the late one go see the Maitre'd as soon as you board and be firm with your reasons you can't eat that late, dietary, go to bed early whatever it is.

  12. Just curious if and how you know your dining time and restaurant?

Ours was printed on the cruise documents as Early . We didn't find out which restaurant/table number till we arrived and checked in. Not sure how that works for the middle seating , if it is considered early or late.

  13. I am cruising 1st time on MSC Seaside This October. When I first decided to book this cruise MSC was offering the 18 drink vouchers..but by the timeI booked they had discontinued them. I understand that they have also discontinued the coffee cuddle pkg which was my 2nd choice. Im very confussed about all the continued posts regarding the drink vouchers, are they available again.?

No . MSC is discontinuing the program. I think we may have extra of the coffee ones too. I think the discussion now is revolving around using them on a future cruise and reselling the left over ones.;p
