1.
I doubt this is coming any time soon but I certainly won't lose any sleep over it no matter what they decide. If they changed it today I wouldn't worry about it. I'm cruising because I love it - not to gain some status or advantages. I was happy as a first time cruiser. If they give me "extras" for cruising more that's fine. If they don't I'll still cruise when I can.
Well said.:) People should just cruise because they love to cruise.
  2. When we booked our Hawaiian cruise for Jan 2015, Princess told us that we would be wait listed for the hotel in San Fransisco. When I asked why, it was because they only have 1 contracted hotel in SF and this was showing full. When asked what would happen if it was still full, they told me that I would have to arrange my own accommodation. So we booked our own, much better knowing where you are staying.

    Hi,

We booked our Hawaiin cruise which we went on in 2013 with Princess and although it was booked over a year in advance we knew at the time of booking which hotel in LA we were going to.That is why I felt confused that they couldn't tell us which hotel in Singapore we are going to.!! You will LOVE Hawaii.

  3. Final payment date is nearing and although we booked 588 days in advance we have not yet been given the name of our pre cruise hotel. How can Princess give us a price to be paid if they are "still trying to contract the hotel in Singapore". ?

    Just curious.

  4. Not the same here in the UK. Yet again we are experiencing problems getting the military I

Obc recognised as per thread "UK cruisers military credit. Since it was outsourced to India, there have been major problems.

Come on princess, we have sent the qualifying information, just give our veterans what they have, earned.

Yes, I agree. My partner is a retired Major, having had over 38yrs of service. Now he hopes to have the next 38yrs of cruising !!!!

  5. Hi,

Yes I agree with the UK replies. You have to apply for the Military OBC each cruise you book.We have scanned and saved our info and just email it to Princess or to our TA for them to sort out each time. Not too much hassle, but I do agree Princess should keep it on file.

    Enjoy your cruise :)

  6. We're doing Mexico in November. It will either be very hot and very humid or... it won't. Either way we will be cruising and not working!!!!!

    We will enjoy ourselves. :)

    Have a great cruise.

I always love your up beat positive replies.

    Enjoy your next cruise.

  7. Thanks for the pictures, we are in C705 on the Sapphire in January. I have read that there are 4 chairs on the balcony, but I only see 2 in your pic. Just asking as we have friends with an inside that may spend some time on our balcony.

    The cabin looks lovely.

Hi,We are on the Sapphire in January too, inside cabin aswell.Could you add ANOTHER 2 chairs to those 4.? :);)

  8. Pat, it's a terrific cruise. We booked our third with this itinerary for next February. Have a great cruise!

    Hi Pam,

We did the Hawaii cruise in March 2013 and would love to do it again. We do love sea days on each cruise we do, but we found until we reached the Hawaiin Islands the weather was not the best.Is there a better weather time to sail from LA ?

    Thanks.

  9. Hi,

We are setting sail on Jan 8th 2015 on the Sapphire out of Singapore.Does anyone know for sure which hotel we are likely to be allocated by Princess for our one night pre-cruise stay.?

I know I asked this question before but no one knew for sure then.My travel agent in Scotland said it would be summer time here before we got any info, but sometime you Americans and Canadians get info before we do.

Thanks in advance for any replies.:)

  10. I know there have been lots of questions about Restaurants & Dining,Sorry, here is another one.

March 2013 I was on the Golden Princess around the Hawaiin Islands and on one of the port days We returned to the ship for lunch expecting to be able to eat in the Dining Room(as we had done on other Princess Cruises)but our usual dining room was closed,as was the other one.

We found out that on all the port days they were closed.

Is this what happens now when the ships are in port ?

    Thanks.

  11. Hi

Goodness, thanks for very quick replies.Going by your replies, does that mean that it will be up to ourselves(on the roll call page) to chat and just organise a 'meeting'.?

I am enjoying the info available through this cruise critic.

    Many thanks.

  12. Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there are organised 'Meetings' of Cruise Critic members on the ships, and if yes,how do I find the info when I am on the ship.?

I have been cruising many years now and only recently joined Cruise Critic, so maybe I just never noticed any meeting info.

    Thanks in advance.

  13. They allocate a certain number of the loungers to be reserved for the entire cruise. It's a limited number and you it's been reported that you need to be there to reserve as soon as the ship starts boarding.

    Hi,

Thanks, I will just have to line up with the rest of the passengers on a first come first serve if all I want are a few days in the Sanctuary on my next 15day cruise.

    Thanks again

  14. I'm letting you know. ;) If you reserve the Sanctuary for the entire cruise you reserve for port and sea days. Same for the drinks package.

    Hi,

This is a little bit of a side step, regarding comment on Reserving the Sanctuary.I was always led to believe that you could NOT reserve the Sanctuary. Was told to Line up 6am to book your place daily.and that was from the attendants at the Sanctuary. !!!!

  15. Princess prices will come down. We bookes a cruise in 2013 and the price came down by over £1500 per person. We booked early to get the cabin we wanted, have just booked today for sailing in 2015 June to the Baltic. The inclusive drink package is really good all coffee, tea, gelato, chocolate, mock tails, soft drinks, cocktails etc up to $10 per drink plus 40% off bottles of wine. I do agree though the prices at the moment are high for 2015 but the prices for this year are over £500 less than last year,

    Hi,

Is it easy to get an already booked cruise cheaper if the price comes down in the Princess Sales.? What do you do ?

    Thanks

  16. My final balance is not due to be paid until June. But even if it is after the final balance date it never hurts to make a phone call.

    Hi,

Thanks for your advise, will be keeping an eye on the prices this time as we lost out on the reduced prices on our Hawaii trip.We are booked for 8th Jan 2015 out of Singapore for a Far East cruise so any reduction in price would be great.

Did you experience any reluctance from Princess when you called about the lower cost ? Also we are booked through Travel Agent, should we get them to phone Princess(if fares come down)?

    Thanks in advance for help.

  17. We just go back from a wonderful seven days on the Sapphire - our favorite Princess ship. I just couldn't resist commenting on a very careless or unthinking installation of new TV equipment. On our 1st sea day we noticed a Cisco carton placed outside of each cabin on our deck. That night we went to bed as usual with the TV on with the sleep timer set. I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed a bright blue light flashing behind the TV. It was bright enough to be very annoying. I looked behind the TV and they had installed what appeared to be a router. I found out later it is to upgrade the TV system to similar to the interactive one on the Royal. The router has a bright LED that flashes a couple of time a second. I went to Passenger Services and they gave me some tape to cover it up. I guess enough people complained - I noticed a few days later that they were going around with duck tape to cover up the LEDs. I just can't believe that someone did not think to test this install in a real world environment (a bedroom with the lights out) before actually installing them in each cabin.

    Hi,

We are delighted to hear that the Sapphire Princess is your favourite ship,we are sailing 15 days next Jan on the Sapphire.Been on a few other Princess cruises but would be interested to find out why this one seems to be better.

    Thanks,

    Anne & Maurice
