  1. Has anyone ever been to the Swamp Safari Village in Falmouth Jamaica? I read about it on a website about Falmouth, but there was no information about the cost or whether or not you can book the tour from the port. I'm sure you could get a cab to take you there, but was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the place.

  2. We just booked a Family Promenade room on the Liberty, specifically stateroom 8307. I have been trying to find a picture of the layout but have been unsuccessful. I found a layout of the Oceanview, but it does not seem to match what I am seeing on youtube for promenade rooms. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one and some actual photos of what our room might look like?

    Thanks

    Jessica

We gave this room booked for May 2016, when are you going?

  3. We are looking to book our 2016 family cruise very soon and were initially considering NCL & Carnival but after NCL announced they are leaving the Houston market, this brought us back to CCL & RCL. We are open to new cruise lines. we are looking to sail Sept 11th 2016 and prefer the exotic western carib itin (roatan, costa maya, cozumel). We are a family of 5. Myself, Hubby, 16 yr old son, 12 yr old daughter and 6 yr old son. Typically my daughter will sleep on a pullman, my oldest prefers the couch and the baby in the past has slept with us but is also open to the pullman bed.

On our last 2 family cruises, we had 2 connecting deluxe oceanview rooms. Our first family cruise (with all 3 kids) was in a regular oceanview. We have never had anything other than oceanview rooms on all of our cruises. We are open to any kind of cabin as long as it affordable for our family.

In doing research yesterday, i found the Family Interior on deck 2 of the LOS. I found some canned pics online but no real reviews of these rooms. It seems that there are only 2 of these rooms on this ship. I also have NOT found a floor diagram of these rooms either. The lady on the phone at RCL yesterday was very helpful and i like the pricing she gave me on the Family Interior, so its in the running.

Can anyone point me in the direction of Family interior reviews and pictures?

I found these pictures on cruiseline rooms . com for freedom of the seas. I would guess it is similar to this.http://********************/Site/view_cabin.php?ship=Freedom%20of%20the%20Seas&cabin=2313

  4. I have a courtesy hold on connecting inside rooms Liberty of the Sea [we are family of 5].

My goal was to be as close to $3k as possible for the cruise part; it's around $3700. This includes only $26 in ship board credit.

We like to drink on vacation probably 1-2 drinks in the evening. We are bringing 3 kids 17 15 13. 1 likes soda the other 2 mostly drink water but might want fake foo foo drinks on occasion. I don't want to be nickle and dimed to death. My fear is it will end up outrageous or we will always be saying no to things. etc.

So how much should I plan on spending on 7 night cruise? on ship. [obviously I need to take tips into account].

What about excursions? we have 3 ports. Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

I'm just trying to decide if this is going to be too expensive for one week.

Any tips to make it less expensive? how to get onboard credit? prepaid tips etc. Thanks.

    Trish

I haven't looked at prices for March, but we are booked on Liberty at the end of May and have 5 people. We are paying less than $3500 and that includes all our port charges and gratuities and insurance from an outside company. We are booked in a family promenade room. Have you looked into that type of room? Also when we booked we got $100 OBC and have the visa card that I will have around $300 more OBC by the time we cruise. You get $ for OBC for just signing up for the card.

  5. Fresh observations from a cruiser.

Dining room food is fair, windjammer food excellent.

Dining room service is slow. 30minutes between courses, no drink person or bread person.

Deck patrol and security on on top of chair joggers, drug users, and underage drinking.

Ifyou go to Mahobeach...do not stand against thefence at the airport..someone got hit by a cab after the plane jet blast threw her against the cab.

Do you have any current prices at Ben and Jerry's, Cafe Promenade or Cupcake Shop?

  6. How much of a hold does RCCL put on your CC for 2 people when checking in at the port?

Do you mean for tips if you don't prepay tips? I have not sailed Rcl but other cruise lines charge you the whole amount of tips per person usually on second day, but it doesn't actually post until your last day. I have never ever seen any other types of holds, but it may vary depending on your credit card company or bank. Just make sure you have enough line of credit for what you plan on spending and you should have no problem.

  7. I know Gatorade is available in individual packets that you can mix with the ice water freely available anywhere food is served and at any bar. We take Crystal Lite packets. Idon't drink soda. You might be able to also Powerade in packets, not sure. You are not likely to dehydrate.

    Are the gatorade packets free?

  8. I'm just a cruise slut - give me a cheap balcony price and a good itinerary and I'm there....

I've been on NCL, Carnival, Royal, Princess...and I could find something good and bad to say about most of them.....With Royal it's mostly I can't afford them. :D

I always thought I couldn't afford a Royal cruise either until I priced a cruise for 5 (next May over Memorial Day weekend). On Carnival Breeze in an ocean view room (with a trundle bed) was $1500 more than a family promenade on Liberty of the seas for the same week (same ports with exception of Ocho Rios vs. Falmouth). It will be a much larger room and more amenities.

  9. RCCL has only one ship currently in Galveston, the Navigator. It is scheduled for 45 Sunday departures this year with the Liberty of the Seas taking its place beginning Friday the 13th in November and then departing for 9 days and returning to fill the remaining Sundays for the rest of the year.

I do not yet know the schedule for 2016.

We are sailing on Liberty of the Seas in May 2016 so it must be sailing from Galveston starting in Nov.

  10. I checked a few hotels on the list someone posted and some of them have 2 day minimums and others have no rates out to 2016. Does anyone know of any hotels without a 2 day minimum and cheap or free parking? Or is it just as good to park right at the port and not have to worry about shuttles back and forth?
