  1. I would check a few things regarding the upcoming Sky Princess cruise next June:

-after the final payment, if the cruise line offers upgrande, when is it usually?

-when I can print my luggage labels?

-when you can choose the check-in time (in the passenger contract it says that for my own cruise, check-in would only start at 12.30pm at the earliest, even though the ship sails at 4pm from Southampton/UK (is this possible)?

-if the travel agency offers a free special dinner, etc. shouldn't it appear in my onboard credit account?

Työskentelin useita vuosia espanjalaisen matkanjärjestäjän palveluksessa (Yhdysvalloissa), joka hoiti Costa del Solin, ja haluaisin mielelläni lähteä tälle retkelle, jos on mahdollisuus ajaa pitkin rannikkoa emmekä jollain moottoritiellä. Olemme kiertäneet Malagassa, joten etsimme jotain erilaista ja halusin nähdä rannikon ja Marbellan. Ajatuksia?? Kiitos.

Hola...Having spent half my life in Málaga, my suggestion is that from near the port of Málaga (Muelle Heredia) take a bus along the coast to Fuengirola. From Fuengirola another bus up the mountains to the white village of Mijas. From there to Torremolinos, from where the last bus to Málaga (Muelle Heredia). And all this really cheaply for only about 10 euros, and at the same time you can see the coast and the mountains and you can stop at every destination as you like.

  3.

I would be interested to know which of the following products are no longer available in the non-suite cabin:

    -stationery and envelopes?

    -pen?

    -sweet dreams chocolate?

    -canvas bag?

    -body & hand lotion?

    -nail file?

    -cotton wool?

    -mini sewing tools?

    -shower cap?

    -bathrobe?

    -slippers?

    -fruit basket?

    -cabin booklet about destinations?

Living half of my life in Spain, I like San Sebastian more than Bilbao. You can take train and it will be less than 2 hours one way. Enjoy Spain!

  5. Hi, has anyone brought food from shore to the ship? I was looking at one MSC cruise that would start from my winter home (country) and end at my summer home (country), during the trip I would like to buy some groceries to take to my summer home, because the trip allows me to not need flights and I could take a larger amount of luggages at the same time. How strict is the MSC on food; do they remove the special marzipan and/or cans you bought on the ship in the intermediate ports?

Have your answers in Blue and have a nice day!...

Thank you so much for all your info.

At this time I have 2 offers for that cruise; fantastica inside 880e or bella balcony 1260e. If I can ask you advise should I go for inside or balcony?

Travelling alone I usually enjoy have dinner table just for me and late sitting. Do you know if MSC Poesia has any table for 2 or they only have big tables?

Have a nice day you too!

  8. Hi, has anyone cruised on MSC Poesia recently? I would have asked for tips, what is the quality of the food on board? Are there noticeable cost cuts somewhere? Can you still buy the Easy package on board and is the price same as before the cruise/do they offer any special price during embarkation day? Can tips be adjusted onboard? Is it worth paying the difference of 400 euros for a 2-week cruise between inside fantastica vs bella balcony?  If you have a bella, is there any chance tour dinner time as well as the size of the table, I'm a Solo cruiser?

This cruise will end in Stockholm, but I need to leave the ship one day earlier in Helsinki, can I do that event that I will pay my cruise ticket up to Stockholm?

Has anyone done the 15-minute tour of Roman ruins at the Hotel Vincci Seleccion?  Or at the University of Malaga?  Recommended or not?

Hi, both places have ruins, for the hotel the old city wall (as well as in the Plaza de la Marina parking) and at the University (near the Bank of Spain) the ruins of the salazón or fish drying method. Also, don't forget the ruins of the Roman theater and the Alcazaba fortress. You can visit all these destinations on foot.

We have an overnight stay in Helsinki (a Thursday in July)

Anyone got any ideas as to what to do/where to go, even if just for a beer or two.

    Many thanks.

If you will sail on board Sky Princess, please know that the ship will sail from Helsinki to Tallinn at 3am...

    General update time.

To my friend that was looking for ship models, I did not see any in the gift shop.

They are doing both Winemaker's and Chef's Table from what I'm told.

    Onto the news:

We did not dock in Costa Maya today due to high winds and rough seas. This is now 2 cruises in a row for me where we haven't docked so I'm going to take the hint and assume it's my fault. I have no idea what the cruise lines were thinking with this port location. Zero breakwater and full exposure to the Caribbean and all of the winds. The captain told us the Allure of the Seas (Oasis-class are the largest ships in the world for those unaware) attempted to take our berth when we didn't dock and was successful (for about 30 min) and they too were forced to leave. Seas are 8-9ft over open water with winds around 30-40 knots but getting better the further north we go.

Apparently the week previous they had a pretty substantial water leak/pipe burst. This might be devastating to the 4 or 5 EFFY fans out there but they had to move all of those events to Deck 7 because of it. They had quite a few blowers going on the carpeted piazza areas, some of which are still roped off. It must have been a doozy.

Much better dinner service last night. Having an experienced staff and eating after rush makes a difference. Rack of lamb and Beef Wellington were both very good.

Thank you for sharing about the ship models. Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks! I would be more than happy.

    MSC:llä ei ole Fantasy-nimistä risteilyalusta.

MSC Fantasia valmistui 9. joulukuuta 2008 ja kastettiin 18. joulukuuta 2008 Napolissa

    .. 1 vuosi vuoden 2007 purjehduksestasi ..

My mistake...it was MSC Fantasia and the yeat was 2008, I was at Naples/Italy at her naming ceremony.

  14. Hi all,

I am looking MSC Virtuosa´s one week cruise from Hamburg/Germany and I would like to know how much has food quality lowered (if any) since 2007 when I was on board MSC Fantasy?

Also can you have extra dinner main course without any extra charge? Is that true that water and regural coffee cost at MDR?

I know that MSC change pax every port, but if you sail one week, do you have any gala nights? What type of food MSC usually offer during gala nights?

How about food quality of Market Place?

Nice to hear. If you can, please, check if they have ship models for sale and price/or picture with price. I am more than happy for your help.

Hi! Thank you for all your info from Sky. Do you have any picture of MDR breakfast menu?

  17. Hi all, my first P&O Cruise was on Oriana in 1998, I would like to hear how the cruise line has changed since then and especially now after the pandemic; what is the quality of the food like (is there lobster for dinner?), etc.

I understood that the cabin will only be cleaned once a day anymore.

Is P&O Cruises a good choice for a solo traveler?

What kind of ship is the Aurora (I've heard it had some problems before the pandemic)? How easily can a solo traveler get the dinner time and table they want? Aurora would have an interesting month-long route to Canada and New York, what would be the pros and cons of such a long trip?

Or would it perhaps be worth looking at Iona or Arvia?

Already in 1992, when I first cruised on Princess, they used the name gelato. At that time, Princess was very Italian-style and many of the captains were also from Italy, as were the restaurant staff.
