  1. I have 14 days till set sail on Carnival Victory for our embarkment day wedding! I feel like I'm totally unprepared, but I can't be the only bride that feels that way right? We have 48 guest (including us) and 36 of them are sailing. We are so humbled that so many people are making the financial sacrifice for people to take off work and travel out of town in the middle of the week I wanted to have a great wedding favor to show our appreciation. I cut the budget everywhere I could (including ordering a wedding dress from china which totally had it's highs and lows), and was able to afford 30oz Yeti tumblers with an anchor and our wedding date for all of the guest.... Now I'm trying to figure out how the heck I get that many on the boat!! Anyone have any tips? Maybe a wheely cart thing? Maybe a suitcase with just those that wheels? If I did either one of those could one of my non-sailing guest take the wheely thing back off the boat so I don't have it in my room all week? Any advise would be great! Also should I still do little over the night bags for each of the sailing rooms?

Yes your non-sailing guests can bring bags on for you and then taking the empty one off should be no problem. :) Everyone sailing and non sailing can bring on a carryon.

  2. I am having a Carnival wedding with luncheon reception this coming November. I was hoping you could answer a few questions for me.....

I've read on here that the cake tables are usually plain unless we bring our own decor. But how were the luncheon tables decorated, if at all?

Do you have any photos of the luncheon?

Should I plan to bring decor of my own?

What room did you eat in?

Were you permitted to play background music from your own ipod dock or whatever?

Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

They decorated the cake table with my flowers, brooch bouquet, and ring box. The dinner table was set the same as it is for dinner. There really isn't any room for much else on those tables. They did put the menus I printed on each plate for the guests. I don't have pictures of the meal because I didn't buy them from the photographer and I was busy eating lol Yes you can play music from your own speaker in the background if you wish.

  3. We are doing Let Us Serve You. You have to choose one appetizer, first course, main course and desert that everyone eats. I would talk to them about the special diets. I haven't found any reviews on this package - I even asked Carnival if it was new or something. Not many people choose it because there is no music and dancing I guess. I will post a review after our wedding on April 23rd to help future brides.

You are welcome to read my review. I had the let us serve you package. They did make an exception and provide chicken nuggets for my nephew rather than the chosen menu. Honestly I think if you talk to them they will happily help in dietary concerns. We didn't have anyone with special diets for our wedding so they were all happy with our choices.

  4. I'm so glad you posted this! We were planning to change clothes right after the lunch reception and BEFORE muster. Guess we won't do that now. THANKS!

Fortunately because I was in my gown they let us sit out the walk to the life boats with the other passengers, but we certainly were the center of attention at the muster drill lol

  5. Dumb question: When do you take wedding pictures?? I'm getting married while the ship is in port while in Galveston. I can't imagine when there would be any time before the ceremony or reception, but I'm also hoping they won't be after the reception because I will probably have sweated my makeup off, my hair will probably fall out, and let's be honest I'll be tipsy.

The pictures with Guests will be between the wedding a reception as well as during the reception. The primary pictures of you as a couple will be done after the muster drill. I used an awesome makeup setting spray from Ulta as a base for my makeup and then as a final layer. My makeup only required minor touch ups for photos.

  6. has anyone done the "let us serve you" package on Carnival? I have a long time before my big day and I haven't even been contacted by my wedding planner yet, but I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. Do I pick out the menu and all the guests are stuck with it, or do I tell them what each guest wants? I don't want a boring menu but I also don't want to exclude any picky eaters, plus I have a vegan, a vegetarian, and a pescatarian who may be coming so I'm stressing out about it!

I did this one. You pick the menu and the guests are stuck with it so to speak. My guests loved it. They did provide chicken nugget and fries for my two year old nephew at my request. If you discuss the special needs of guests they will help you out. We chose the boulibase, the vodka penne, the filet mignon and spinach, the fruit tart with kiwi coulee and wine to drink. There was champagne with the cake.

  7. We are 59 days from the big day!! We can't wait to say "I Do!" aboard the Carnival Freedom on April 30th. I'm totally excited and can't wait for a vacation!

We are finalizing the details for our welcome dinner party which we have decided to hold at the Marriott that we are staying in for convenience. We are having a buffet style dinner, drinks and a live musician in order to achieve that laid-back mingle and have a good time feeling. We only have 16 sailing out of our 50 guests so we wanted to make sure we had the opportunity to spend time with all of them.

I still have quite a few things to do (and making this list is setting off a little stress!):

    • Find wedding make-up. Going to try MAC - any other suggestions?
    • Complete personalized Tumblers for OOT bags
    • Complete centerpieces for the welcome dinner
    • Create slideshow for welcome dinner
    • Come up with flower girl dresses - 7 & 8 years old and the oldest hates dresses!!
    • Attend my last dress fitting
    • Break in my wedding shoes
    • Find a veil - thinking birdcage - where can I get one cheap?
    • Get a tan - anyone experienced with spray tan? Will it rub off on my dress?
    • Order wedding bands - I can't believe this isn't done yet!

I thought I was ahead of the game when I started this journey 12 months ago. But now being just 2 month out I feel like I have procrastinated on a few too many things! I guess the time just crept up on me :D

    I. Bought my makeup at ultra. The house brand held up great with the ultra setting spray under and over it

  8. We are on the October 1, Barcelona to Athens in an OC premium cabin category 6M...bigger room with a second sink and bathroom area... and price has dropped more than $500 thus far, just today it dropped another $70 and last week it dropped $38

Us too. I really think it is because JH is on the one before and the one after so October first isn't selling as well. I am ok with that. Price drops make me happy dance. :)

  9. What is the Chef's Table? I assume it is a one night event?

It is a multicourse dinner hosted by one of Carnival's master chefs. It starts with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for a small group, followed by a tour to see the galley in operation. Then full-service dinner of appetizers, entrees and desserts not found on regular dining menus. Vista has a special galley viewing location for the Chef's table.

  10. Hi ladies :)

Some things I am concerned/anxious about:

-Makeup...I am fairly confident in my own makeup skills but it will be the fourth day of the cruise in St. Thomas so I don't want it to melt off. I also have no clue how to apply fake eyelashes and yes, I have watched TONS of videos on it.

I used a setting spray from ulta to set my make up. I tried it out over the summer in the hottest weather at outdoor events to make sure it held and it did. It was about half the price of the Urban Decay spray. I put it on under my makeup and over as well. As for fake eyelashes I opted for the fiber mascara instead because I knew I would get bothered by the fake eyelashes if they weren't perfect and I didn't want to pay for the lash extensions.

  11. Hello... May I ask was your dress delivered as expected. I was looking to get a dress from here until my best friend said the reviews were not so good. Did you have any problems? It sure was beautiful.

It was absolutely perfect. I did need some alterations but I knew it would need shortened because I didn't pay for the exact measurements. A friend who has done wedding gown alterations for years offered to do any I needed as her gift to me. She was very impressed with the quality of the gown and said it would easily have sold for $1500 in any of the shops she has ever worked with. The boning in the bodice was so good I didn't even have to use support garments underneath. I also bought my formal for formal night from them and it too was perfect with awesome support.

  12. On our Wedding Cruise one of our guests was Vegan and another has Celiac. Each evening the M'aitre D or other staff member would visit the table with a special menu for them to pre select dinner for the next day. Carnival really made a point of making them feel included in the dinner experience. Their selections were always delicious looking.

  13. What an awesome recap of what to focus on! I'm hoping our ceremony will also be short and sweet. Would like to take a group photo like you did, if everyone can organize themselves quickly after the service! We'll see :)

Our photographer did a group shot right after the reception before everyone left. I had given him four shots I wanted and one was all of us at the bottom of a stair case looking up at him. The great hing about these boards are you can see other's photos and get some great ideas for your must have shots. I put them on a word document and put it in my wedding binder to give him. He did great getting exactly what I wanted.

  14. JH says that lobster will still be available for the "nominal" price of $20 per person on ships w/o the steakhouse. .

On our last cruise on the Sensation my father had the steakhouse Lobster every night but Elegant night. He really enjoyed it.

As for myself, I don't like and don't eat Lobster or prime rib (lobster allergy((not other shellfish oddly)), never liked prime rib) so I'm glad to see some new additions to elegant night.

  15. I was married on a Carnival ship in January this year. Our pictures were not taken until after the muster drill so we wore our wedding clothes to Muster and then after pictures we changed and went to dinner in our regular clothes that night as it was embarkation day.

  16. Yes, it was a woman who had lost her husband recently according to the daughter and niece of the person. How sad for them and for her that she could see no other way out of her sadness. how sad for the crew and other cruisers that she chose their cruise.

  17. Has anyone who has done let us serve you with carnival brought your own table centerpiece for the meal? I'm wondering if it necessary or if there's even enough to room on the tables. Also, after the final guest count is in are they able to let you know the number of tables and seats at each to expect?

If anyone has done this package and is willing to share what they did, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

I did the Let Us serve you and I can say the tables are set up just like they are for dinner during the cruise. There really wasn't room on our table for centerpieces.

  18.

Everyone's final payment is due at the end of the week so I have been getting some questions on that. Does everyone wait till the last minute on these things?? Cant wait!!

lol In answer, YES they all wait until the last minute!

  19. I keep doubting my dress, and then as soon as I am back in it, I fall in love all over again!

I am not stressing at all, which makes me think I have probably forgotten to sort a bunch of things! Our wedding is 3 weeks today and I have barely had to do a thing - what am I doing wrong!?

Is it really supposed to be this easy and stressfree?

Ps. I will definitely post some photos on our return around July 13th, hope that's helpful x

YES! it is supposed to be this stress free! Isn't it awesome?

  20. So what if your not actually getting married through carnival but on Fort Lauderdale the day before your cruise? Do you have to go and apply in person for the license or what? We are having a hard time finding flights that will get us there before the courts close for the day...

    Thanks :)

You can apply through the Brevard County Courts to get married anywhere in Florida. The process is the same regardless. You can give them a call if you have any questions. They are awesome to work with.
