  1. Not to burst your bubble, but for $50.00 you got to drop a carry on 1 1/2 hours early, and got luggage about 2 hours sooner? All for $50.00? Sounds like you did not really get on the ship early, and you could have also get off early if you wanted. I still don't see why everyone gets so excited to pay for items that cost Carnival nothing, and you can get for free!

Every time a FTTF thread is started there is a few of these and I can just say as with everyone else that it is what you consider as value and how much 50.00 means to you.

For me, I just got off the Dream recently and we were on by 1130, went to our rooms where are luggage was already there, dropped off all our stuff and then went and discovered the ship. Seeing so many people lugging around their carry ons and 12 packs of soda was enough for me.

The amount of people that do not prefer it definitely outweighs the people that do. Many people don't even know it exists.

I respect anyone that doesn't feel it is worth it, just question their stance when they haven't even tried it.

  2. Keep coming back and checking. Multiple times daily. I did that and about a month after I booked I was able to purchase.

As far as adding people it is by cabin. FTTF purchased by one person covers that cabin only.

    Hope this helps.

  3. I repeat, how can one be charged so fast? Even with murder investigations, a person isn't charged that fast. Brought in for questioning, but without full blown evidence, how can one be charged?

The articla has so little information it is hard to even speculate. For all we know it has been an ongoing investigation. Too much that could have happened that we do not know about.

  4. Its your money, do with it what you wish. Its your vacation, if you feel better paying in advance, at the end, or everyday.

Obviously there are cultures that "traditionally" feel tipping is an insult, however the stewards are experienced (or should be) and most would look at the tip from the source. If that tip is from an american they understand that this makes some americans feel comfortable doing it up front.

I have only been on one cruise (2nd in 11 days) but having been a frequent travel throughout the world you do what makes you feel happy.

My only concern is that people are too quick to remove all tips because of one or two bad experiences or individuals. On my first cruise I was in line customer service for a good while for a question involving handicap debarkation for my mother and 4 of the 6 people in front of me adjusted down or took off their tips entirely, most saying they spent too much during the cruise. SAD!:mad:

Off my soap box, happy cruising everyone! Only 11 days to the DREAM!!

  5. Hi everybody.

Hope somebody can give us some insight. Sailing on the Breeze in 2 weeks. There are 4 of us & we wanted connecting rms so we were limited. I booked mid ship deck 6 & looked to avoid being over the piano bar & night club.

Then I realized my balcony will overlook the hot tub. I don't really mind that I don't have the view directly down to the ocean, but my concern is will people in the hot tub be in my face every time I sit out on my balcony?? Are those open 24/7?

I will still gladly take this stateroom versus being under a pool deck or the galley. It is what it is and we will make the best of it. Just wondering if anybody has some insight.

I found this photo and I'm trying to gauge it.

    Happy sailing!

The hours for those hot tubs are 9am-9pm. Happy Cruising

  6. Anyway, I had a question, I forgot to add. Do both in the cabin have to get the drink package? Just got off the Caribbean Princess last week, our 1st and last Princess cruise. Princess is not what they say they are. Food was terrible, staff worse. No bartender knows what a Chocolate Martini is. But the Princess website says both in cabin have to get the package, but onboard they say no, only one has to. Which is good, the wife can sip 1-2 a day, so its not worth it. Hope I can get the package only.

I will be on the same cruise. Two weeks from today.

To answer your question, Everyone over 21 in the cabin will be charge the package.

  7. Where can I find all of the Brands of cruise lines they own. I know of HAL and COSTA but none others. I saw Cunard mentioned as well. If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Also I am stunned as well that he hasn't leveraged the size of his business to lower costs. You can still have a great product and get your goods for the bottom price.

  8. Is there anyone else on the Dream June 22nd

THIS GUY. 22 June on the Dream. Only booked 4 months ago but seems like a year ago. Counting each and every day and driving my DW crazy with all the cruising sites/pics/videos I have been watching on the net.

  9. Best answer of the day, call Carnival. In your situation your best move is to see if you can switch to have your 5yr old on your cabin.

FTTF has always been a sore subject for the long time cruisers. With good reason. Simply put if they set a precedence to allow 2 cabins to load on one FTTF then it would become an epidemic (see chair hogging).

I am betting that they will accommodate you in some fashion but do not think both cabins will be able to go to FTTF.

Best of luck and enjoy your Cruise!!

  10. From everything I have read, it is not worth it. Though many people will now come and chime in as to why it IS worth it to them.

Why I am not choosing to do it:

1: early boarding....not worth it. If you get there around 12:00-12:30pm you walk right onto the ship

2: get suitcases early.....I have read a LOT of reports where that is just not happening

3: able to drop off carry-on in cabin....ok, if that is worth $50 to you, maybe? Then again, if you board at Noon, you can do that anyway.

4: early off the ship.....you can ask for a group 1 tag anyway.

5: short line for CS. I never got here, so no biggie for me.

$50 buys me quite a few drinks. :D

You mentioned almost all of the benefits. Also priority for shuttle when tendering at a location.

But to me it really comes down to preference. :D If those items are important to you, by all means do it. If it doesn't than you save 50.00 bucks. For most we spend 4 digits on a cruise and 50.00 bucks can seem like a pittance to some and ridiculous to others.

  11. I am more excited for my 2nd cruise than I was my first. I was so excited to be in my first cruise but I am driving my wife crazy as I am constantly looking at cruise forums, review videos, photos. I simply can't get enough and I don't sail until 22 June (CC DREAM).

Did this happen from many of you?

My first cruise was wonderful but wasn't a complete vacation. We took my elderly parents which both needed assistance and walk very slowly. They had never been either so I wanted them to share it with us.

This cruise is just the wife and I and that may be one reason why I am so stoked.

So again, First, second, or once you start you are hooked forever!!

  12. - Embarking, the moment you get on board and get the immediate vacation atmosphere
    - Seeing the room for the first time
    - PEOPLE WATCHING - especially CHOG confrontations
    - Getting to know your Steward and MDR staff, and of course bartender
    - Serenity Deck
    - RECON of a ship you are on for the first time
    - Room Service in the morning on the baclony
    - NO distractions from phone, internet, family, friends - off grid time

    :D:D:D
