  1. We're first time cruisers (February 2015) and we got a pretty good deal through "Share the Savings" which seems like some kind of enhanced referral program:

    - $25 off the price of the cruise per person for referral. $50 saved

    - Same booking price as the person who invited us ($125 less than advertised price). $250 saved.

    - $100 OBC per person.

Nothing wrong with that... It's a 10 day cruise, so that OBC essentially pays the daily gratuity which we would have otherwise needed to cover!

  2. Thank you so much for that review! We are accustomed to good coffee and probably wouldn't like the syrup blend too much.

Coffee cards it is, plus I hear that on the Royal it's also usable for gelato. I'm sure my dear wife (Mrs. Sweet Tooth) won't mind that. Chances are she'll end up using the punches on my card. lol

  3. Yes. You can add OBC at anytime. I just did $425 and was charged in CAD not USD so i saved about $40 if not more depending on exchange that day! :D

Last time I called to inquire about pre-paying OBC, I was told that it would be charged in USD on my CC because all transactions on board of the ship are in USD.

If there's a specific person to contact or a way to get it done, I'd really like to know!

  4. Yes, it would cost you around 4K to buy in. I got "lucky" and bought mine the monday after the Costa Concordia wreck for $29 and change....

Right now the stock is doing quite well, so it will cost you.....

I can't see ourselves going on a cruise more than every couple of years for now. We have 2 young boys and that represents a pretty significant sum, so maybe later if we decide to cruise on a regular we'll look into that.

Thanks for confirming, though, I appreciate you chiming in!
