  1. So glad you enjoyed your trip to Pigeon Island with Andy. You can't beat that price and the services he provided.
  2. Hi Cindy...We used Viator's Pigeon Island tour two months ago, and it was at least five hours, from pick-up to drop-off back at our ship. As soon as we arrived on Pigeon Island, our guide just asked us what time we wanted to be picked up and there were no time limits mentioned. We happened to be the only two people on this tour, but if there are others, you may have to coordinate with them. You can always call Viator with your questions before you book. Our experience was their service was excellent and very reasonably priced.
  3. You are very welcome. Have a great trip!
  4. We took that same trip to Pigeon Island in December, and we were very happy with the service. The beach on the island is small but very nice, and there are chair rentals available with rest rooms and a place to purchase snacks nearby. It wasn't overly crowded that day, and with only one ship in port you'll probably find it the same. We didn't swim there but it was a perfect place to relax after having done the hikes. We felt very safe there. There were no vendors trying to sell you things on Pigeon Island. We've been to St. Lucia before and we found the vendors in most public areas to be very aggressive. I would use the beach on Pigeon Island. It is a perfect place to relax for an hour or so after your hikes.
  5. Congratulations on your 100 day medallion award! It's just a simple medallion, but for someone who enjoys cruising, receiving it will be a lovely memory for you to look back on. We received ours last year on the Veendam. Actually, we didn't even realize we were at the 100 day mark. We received the usual invitation to the mariner's luncheon, and it was followed up by a phone call, asking us to confirm that we were going to be there. I'm glad we went. Enjoy your cruise!
  6. The front desk will give you meclizine for no charge. We don't carry it with us, but on occasion we have needed it and it was available for the asking.
  7. You're welcome. Enjoy your cruise!
  8. This is true! We also had a lot of onboard cruise credits which helped with our decision. I don't remember the cost for our 10 day cruise on K last March, but I'm sure it was not this much.
  9. It was $393.00 for a couple on the 11 day Caribbean cruise on December 10, 2018. This is the third time we have opted for it, so for us it was worth it. This is the only ship we have used it though, so we have nothing to compare it to. We spent a lot of time relaxing there and it was never very crowded. You can tour the entire spa area on embarkation day to see what they offer, which will help with your decision.
  10. Just returned from our cruise stop in St. Lucia. We booked a tour to Pigeon Island through Viator, and we were very happy with this service. The cost was $22.00 each, and our tour guide, Andy, was waiting for us outside the cruise gate. It turned out we were the only two people on this tour. Andy drove us to a beautiful photo spot and then dropped us off at the gate at Pigeon Island. He offered to give us a tour, but since everything is clearly marked on the island, we did not need a guide so we agreed on a pick up time and then Andy gave us a cooler filled with water, soda and beer. There was an additional (reasonable) cost to enter the park and for chair rental at the beach. We then set up our chairs, left our cooler by them, and did some hiking around the island before returning to the beach to relax. When we were ready to leave, Andy was already waiting for us at the gate. On the ride back, Andy told us many things about the island and we couldn't have asked for a nicer tour guide. If Pigeon Island is something you would like to do, we would definitely recommend using Viator.
  11. Thank you Video Tech...this is all great information. We are leaving in a few minutes to catch our flight to Fort Lauderdale and then to start our cruise. Pigeon Island is certainly looking to be a highlight for us. I'd like to hike a bit and then check out the beach. I booked this morning with Viator and spoke to them on the phone as well, so I feel more confident about our decision. Thanks again to all who have offered information on this beautiful island tour.
  12. Thank you reedprincess and wacko. This information is very helpful.
  13. We will be in St. Lucia on 12/15/18, by cruise ship, and would love to see Pigeon Island. We are only in port until 4 pm though, so I was wondering if just taking a taxi there and back would be the best way to do this. Would there be taxis readily available for the trip back to the ship, or would we need to rely on our cab driver returning at a specific time? Our ship's tour is another option, but their time on Pigeon Island seems too brief. Thanks for any information.
