  1. I did a search and didn’t find what I’m looking for, so forgive me please if I missed it.

This will be my first time on a ship with a Juice or Smoothie bar. I will be purchasing the full drink package (including alcohol) and am wondering if the fresh juices from the Vitality Cafe are included with the package? Last time I was on Royal the fresh squeezed OJ was NOT included, which I found surprising, but after reading the description on their website, I’m currently a little confused as it sounds like they may have changed things up a little.

Can anyone tell me if they’ve successfully been able to get the fresh stuff with the drink package on Allure? And also, is it ONLY the vitality cafe that has the other freshly squeezed juices? Anywhere else on board to get those?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. The Roatan Tourism Bureau is reporting as of this morning that Allure, scheduled to arrive May 10, has canceled this arrival, and the remainder of the “season” due to the damage to the dock. They said smaller ships can still dock, but not Allure.

I’m on a June sailing which, in my Cruise Planner, is still showing Roatan. I’m sure it will take some time to make these changes and notify everyone. Assuming this is accurate information from the Tourism Bureau, what do you think Royal will do? Is there another port they might substitute? (We are already scheduled to go to Cozumel and Costa Maya.). Maybe Grand Cayman? Or do you think it will just be a sea day? Would you expect they’ll offer OBC for the inconvenience?

Personally I’m ok with it. Was looking forward to my excursion, but it is what it is. Nothing to get all angry about!

What are your thoughts for how they’ll deal with the change?

  3. I’m seeing on FB that Royal will not be docking Allure (and maybe others?) in Roatan at all “this season”. (Not sure exactly what that means... all summer? I’m scheduled to go on Allure in June and haven’t received word directly from Royal yet, however.

  4. I know the risks of an early flight. Right now I'm actually booked on a 7:00pm return flight, but I have a question if y'all don't mind.

Has anyone been booked on an early SWA flight and actually missed it because the ship was late, customs delayed, whatever? I'm wondering how SWA responded. Did they let you on the next flight? Was it a pain? Not a big deal?

I'll be on Allure in June and am watching prices. There is a 9:45am departure and another at 10:50, and then one a little after noon. I'm watching prices (love how flexible SWA change policy is!) and if the price drops on the 9:45am I was considering changing... BUT was hoping to hear from anyone who actually missed an early flight. Thanks!

  5. Announced in a letter, dated April 29, Carnival added: “In tandem with this change, in addition to priority embarkation and debarkation in all ports and confirmed main dining room preference, suite guests will now receive priority tender service, complimentary in-suite bottled water and one complimentary bag of laundry per voyage, as well as an enhanced turndown service”, Carnival confirmed.

I thought I read that, but a few weeks ago on the Carnival Liberty, we did not get priority tender service. I was in a suite and when we asked about it they said we didn’t get priority.

  6. In my experience the food has been better on Carnival than on Royal. I get so tired of the Windjammer and love the options on Carnival. I really like Guys burgers and the burritos at the Blue Iguana. The alchemy bar is lots of fun too. Carnival takes itself less seriously which I like. That said, my next cruise is on Allure because the price was right and way cheaper than Carnival Vista.

You sound like the type of people who will enjoy whatever ship you’re on! Friends just got off Pride last week and had a blast. I’m sure you will too.

  7. We had the same cabin on Allure - actually our kids did, we were across the hall in oceanview. Here's a link to my review with a bunch of pictures of the cabin and its view- hope that helps!

Thanks! How the heck did you get THAT much OBC? I'm in awe!!! And, back to the topic of this thread, I ended up going for an ocean view balcony after hearing people say that on Oasis class ships there really isn't much opportunity to see OUT. I need my ocean!!!

  8. I'm looking at my first Oasis class cruise. Have always been a balcony kind of person and I love sitting out and listening to nothing but the waves. But I'm intrigued by the Boardwalk Balcony after reading this thread. I will be traveling with my son, age 13. I could see us really enjoying this balcony! I can get 9329 for about $60 MORE than a regular balcony on a lower deck.

Should I do it? What time do the shows usually end? Will I be able to sit out there at any point of the day and still enjoy the sounds of the sea? I'm just afraid I will miss the quiet time as I'm guessing it is pretty noisy out there much of the day?

  9. If you can get a lido balcony that would be my personal first choice. I just got off Liberty a few days ago and we had a balcony on 7 which was a great location. The farther aft your cabin is, the closer you are to the the casual food areas like the buffet, Guys burgers, and the aft pool. So that would be a decent spot too. I loved this ship!

  10. Just got off Liberty yesterday and in your cabin you will have VERY few TV channels. No TBS, only CNN in spanish, and then a few local Miami channels. (We were in a Junior Suite on deck 7.) But the sports bar is quite large with many TVs and will very likely have every game playing there!
