So I spoke to my surgeon again and was able to move my surgery up to Friday. I'll be pain free a week later and by August 9th I should be okay to sail, without any weight baring on my right foot! I'm doing this! I'm going to beat this! If I have to be in a wheelchair or scooter the whole week it's better than being at home on a couch, right? Vista Suite view is better than my television!

I'm not sure. I have $750 in cruise cash, $59 for the FTTF, the $130 wine package and some other things...I just can't believe carnival won't refund

Carnival is refusing to refund my cruise cash!

Just met with my surgeon. I'm going to have surgery on Friday. He suggested I don't go on the cruise. I'm going to cancel this afternoon. Very sad.

We just got back from a cruise on the Freedom. My husband uses a mobility scooter to get around. I can't say how happy we were with the scooter. He got around very well with it. If you want to know more specifics, let me know. I do know you can rent can mobility scooter and they will deliver it to the ship.

Lily id love to know more specifics and will it fit through the door of a vista suite?

Thank you! I spoke with my workers comp rep and it's no problem if I go since it'll be vacation time that I'll be using and it was planned months ago. So that's good!

I bought the insurance through USAA. We are waiting to see what the Dr says...I have my appointment with the orthopedist on Wednesday! I'll keep everyone posted.

What if my doctor says I can cruise?

Looks like we are going to cancel our cruise. We bought cruise cash and want to know if that can get refunded. We did buy insurance too.

I'm all for returning in a knee scooter or something. The greater issue is I hurt my right foot and I'm not sure when I'll drive again.

My issue is I'm a General Manager for a large retail store...meaning on my feet all day. That's my only concern.

Yeah I'm going to wait and see how my call with my HR department goes tomorrow, they've been great so far although I'm not sure how a vacation smack in the middle of my LOA will go over, and then I'll see what the Ortho says whether I need surgery or not. He ER doctor after looking at the X-rays said most likely I won't need surgery. When both those processes are done, most likely mid week this week, I'll make the decision whether to stick with my room, upgrade to the Grand Suite, or cancel all together and use my insurance. I love hearing everyone's stories so keep them coming. You guys are all amazing and uplifting.

If I downgrade, will I get the money difference back? Also, I agree. If I stay home I'll just be laying on my couch. I also don't know about returning back to work.
