  1. Some people have stomach issues that would turn into a not too great trip if they tried out of the norm food. I'm fine with new things but DH not so much. I don't want to eat in port and him sit and watch me because he can't eat it. And I'm fine with eating on the ship. It's part of the cruise price and we take advantage of that. No big deal to us.

  2. [emoji15][emoji15]didn't mean to start a war on here! I just want to take some prepackaged snacks to munch on while out and about! We are not ones to eat in port anywhere we are, for a number of reasons. Thank you all that have assured me it's okay to take them. I would never, ever take food from ship into ports.

  3. I knew about the fresh fruits and veggies and I don't plan on taking the ship food off the ship just prepackaged snacks that we bring. I'll pack them in our checked luggage and not our carry on when we board. We eat things like the Quaker bars and Special K bars or cookie crisp. I'll put them in a backpack to take on excursions with us. Thanks for your replies. 16 more days until our cruise!

  4. I just kept checking prices and for a while they were going up and up and then about a month ago they started going down. I talked to my TA and she moved us up one deck. And last week they dropped some more and she was able to move us up again. I've done several fake bookings and all categories of room show quite a few available at lower prices than I paid. I'm happy my TA was willing to try and get us something for the difference in our fares.

  5. Just an FYI..prices have dropped so much for this sailing that we have been able to go from balcony on the 9th deck to 10th deck and now to a mini suit on the 11th deck without paying a single extra amount. I know there are some people that can book and travel at last minute so this might be a good time to check into this sailing if anyone is interested.

  6. We won't have a rental car until the morning we leave Boston so no worry about parking. I haven't changed hotels and I'm not sure I will. Reviews for Boston Park Place are varied from great to aweful. We only need one night so not to concerned about that. If it was for longer I would seriously think about changing. Location seems good for us. Close to beginning of Freedom Trail and close to car rental place. I'll let ya'll know after we get back how the hotel is. Thanks got all the info.

  7. Prices have dropped quite a bit on our New England/Canada trip next month so that we were able to upgrade from balcony to mini suite with no extra cost. Are there any extra amenities that go with a mini suite? It's not a big deal if not but was just wondering. Also, our cabin in on deck 11 under Top Siders and the ice cream parlor, 11606. Anyone stayed in this cabin? Thanks!

  8. I changed our car rental to a Saturday pickup instead of Friday. That saved 120.00. The hotel can be cancelled up until the 24th of September. When I did my search there were very few hotels available for the weekend I needed, the 24th of September. That is one reason I ended up with Park Plaza. And it was close to the beginning of the Freedom a Trail. I'm not going to cancel yet but I will keep looking over the next few weeks. As of now I have all the details worked out and taken care of. I can sit back and not worry about anything until our cruise. Thank you to everyone that has given me suggestions. I'm looking forward to our cruise and to visiting Boston at the end of it.

  9. Update. We have decided to stay in Boston Friday night instead of leaving for NH that afternoon. I booked the Boston Park Plaza on Park Plaza at Arlington Street. It's close to the beginning of the Freedom Trail and we can spend all day exploring and not have to hurry up. The hotel is close to our car rental place on Congress Street. I'm hoping to pick the car up and then go on the the hotel and park there until check in time. It's not the cheapest hotel but it's not the most expensive and it seems convenient for us.

  10. Thanks for the info. I was looking at using them just for a short tour in Qubec the afternoon after we board our ship. We don't leave port until the next day. I'm still undecided whether to use them or DIY and just explore some of the area close to port. The ship does not offer anything the day we board. They do the next day.
