I agree the TV is substandard, and it's another cost cutting move, they're getting way too greedy at the expense of little nuances for the customer. On another note and I still scratching my head at this one....the big screen on deck on my recent Sunrise cruise was only used for showing a couple movies at night. During the rest of the day it was used for meaningless ads, like....make sure your "insta" your vacation pics with their hashtags. Used to be able to see some pretty good music concert videos at off times on the screen.

I was on the cruise and totally agree. The lido marketplace was a zoo. They add capacity of about 700 passengers for revenue, but don't touch the marketplace to add capacity for them. It was always crowded, and tables were never cleaned. Even the supervisor there admitted it was a complete failure. Coffee and ice machines were breaking down daily.
I agree that taking away public spaces and adding cabins is all about bringing in more revenue (and I'm not a fan of it), but I believe they bumped up capacity by about 300 or so, not 700

i am also on this sailing too. What event is going on? i thought they already did all of the events
I am curious. i was watching a youtube video from the 4 day sailing and it looks like they entered on deck 2 forward skipping the atrium area.
The ship docks at Pier 90, this pier has the older enclosed gangway with plastic walls so the view is limited. Pier 88 has the bigger glass gangway
Saw the same video. I know it's a kinda a trivial thing, but I like the whole gangway experience lol

I'm curious if you have to board on deck 2, or if you get the real glass gangway experience...if that makes any sense...

meant to say I'll be staying in 5344...not sure if I conveyed that ! 🙂

The worry I still hold, though, is that it is STILL an old ship of Carnival that had mechanical issues. I wonder if they did work on the engines, etc? The Sunrise looks fabulous, but the problems the Triumph had still linger in my mind. I do want to sail this ship, as it looks lovely, but those questions still linger with me. I know that the Sunshine overcame its bad rap it had from being the Destiny. I’ve sailed both the Destiny, in 2001, and the Triumph, in 2007.
I wouldn't worry about it, it had one problem and it was addressed at that time. I was on the Splendor a few years after it suffered a catastrophic engine failure....didn't think twice about cruising her 🙂

Does anyone have a map of the Cabana and Villa's. We have one of each booked for our cruise in July and I want to pick mine out to have ready when we board?
Pam
Just do a good search, then click on images, that's how I found it 🙂

last two times to HMC we had a villa, spoiled can't do without it now. I think both times we had C

awesome pics thanks for sharing the link. did you happen to notice if they had PYOB (pour your own beer) stations on the ship?

Loved the decor on the Miracle. I thought the artwork of the fictional characters in the hallways of the passenger decks was very cool

GT definitely. St. Thomas nice too. At GT just make sure to walk down a bit from the crowds and beach closet to the ship, down to Jacks Shack area as others have mentioned. The beach right by the ship has a lot of rocks and seaweed. If you walk further down it becomes pretty much perfect

I booked the June 24th Bermuda / Grand Turk last August, never been to Bermuda , so that's exciting. Grand Turk is one of my favorite ports

I agree they do need to dress up / enhance their pool and surrounding area. When you're on a cruise you're usually on a tropical getaway. Pools and that type of vacation go hand and hand, so I think the pool area should be a bit more pleasing / inviting. Good observation Jared!

I think the hot dogs are at the deli now

We went two years ago on the Pride. A buddy of mine went with us and took his daughter (never married to her mom) and her friend by himself. They had paperwork, but no one ever asked for anything.

no guys, they do have soft serve , like all ships :)

Last Carnival cruise we went on my friend came with us. He is platinum (priority boarding) and took his daughter and her friend in a separate cabin (not priority). Had no trouble at all just boarding priority as a group. No one ever even asked. If it's your kids they are not going to question you and turn them away.

I just call it like I see it. if something isn't as good as it used to be I say so, likewise if something improves. I've seen a lot of nice changes over the years, and also a lot of little things disappearing that made cruising a unique vacation with it's own vibe.
