  1. I'm trying to call MSC, been on hold forever..big surprise. Long story short, family of 4 booked for Seaside this coming Saturday. My wife may not be going now. If I take my two kids myself does anyone know if I need some sort of documentation from my wife, stating she gives permisssion? We are not divorced / separated , anything like that....thanks

  2. I've seen reviews that MSC, Viking and maybe new Costa ships ( and maybe others) have only deep pools.

My theory: lots of thought went into this. On hot days, shallow pools are packed; people get in and simply stay in. New people coming up complain about the pools being jam packed with kids etc.

With the deep polls, people will jump in and cool off, paddle around for two minutes and then get out and cool off. Leaving the pool looking uncrowded and very inviting.

Cruise ship designers are not dummies.

I agree with and also have come to this conclusion and like the idea. On my most recent cruises the pools had become way to crowded with people hanging out.

  3. first off thanks for yous service! when I status matched on MSC, I didn't have to call in, I completed there form online and attached a pic of a screen shot of my status with Carnival.

  4. I'm in the same boat (pardon the pun). Been cruising only Carnival since 1995. We have the Seaside booked for this summer. Definitely wanted a change, and the deal they were offering when I booked in March of last year was too good to pass up. I've read the negative reviews, and honestly I'm not worried at all. They are the same sort of complaints that I've heard for just about every ship out there. As long as there is sun, water, some sort of decent food, I'm good to go. Also the all inclusive alcohol, and whirlpool on my balcony for the same rate as I paid for a Carnival cruise without such amenities helps :)

  5. Photos of some of our dishes.

General thought the food was good, but the shrimp cocktail just not worth it! Nothing bad.cfc44e2ce6c66e63ac97d5b5610ad558.jpg3165dfd1e0598b8b79ffd0b48a2243a3.jpgd17c29b839bff24e08d463470093bde5.jpge075ed8829d9eddf6af405862cb1e3f1.jpg

How was the grouper ? looks very good there, but I've always found the fish to be lacking in the flavor department on ships. thanks for the information and updates, have a great cruise

  6. Great video as usual Jim. I've been following you for a few years now, and although I wouldn't have an issue with some of the things you found to be negatives on the cruise, I appreciate your thoroughness and enthusiasm. For example I think the deeper pool is a great way to keep the pool from overcrowding and turning in to a "soup with too many ingredients" heh heh. One thing I wanted your opinion on...I am booked in the same cabin category for our upcoming Seaside cruise. In regards to the shower door issue I've been trying to brain storm some life hacks that would alleviate the splashing water issue (maybe packing something for the trip). Any thoughts on this?

  7. as far as the smell issue, I've experienced sewage smell one time or another on pretty much every ship that ive been on....and heard people complain about just about every ship on every line have a sewage smell somewhere. I wouldn't worry about that. Usually I just get a whiff and keep walking, no big deal

  8. The best way I figure to use it is to get the card as soon as you can from them after boarding and give to photographers each time they take pictures. They use NFC to tap the card to their phone for which account to assign the pictures to. If you do this everything they take except maybe the embarkation photos will be properly assigned to the card.

After returning you can go to mymscphotos.com and access the photos for basic edit (add/remove border and zoom in/out). From what others have reported there is a way to download the photos to your phone/tablet while on board, but as we didn't learn of the card until the end of the cruise we didn't know this to take advantage of it. The card has a code on it to access the pictures from that website.

For $99 this was a great deal and we would definitely recommend it.

    excellent detailed info, thanks

  9. thanks for the info. I was thinking of getting this package for our upcoming cruise. Would you be able to explain a little more on how it works? (sorry I am not familiar with MSC). Do they give you a card (like a CC), and you use this at the end of your cruise to access the pics?
