  1. Yes but not all rip the cruise line on their very first post the same day they sign-up. While they're not all suspect, you have to wonder some times. On the Carnival boards there's a member who keeps creating new identities to expound on the wonders of Carnival. The only problem is how many times can you write on your first post that 'Carnival is my family' before someone figures it out.

    Exactly. Thank you.

  2. With all due respect EVERY single person that has posted on here had a 1st post at some point, yourself included. That does not make first time posters any less experienced at cruising. Yes agreed some newbies are newbie cruisers, but others are experienced cruisers. To judge solely based on the fact they have 1st post next to their names does not make them clueless.!

You all are missing the point. Sure, we all have had post #1. It's usually, hi...i am a newbie....sorry if this has been asked before "do we use cash on the ship" or "what's a DH?" or "can i bring bottled water?"

Why are these first posts that I am talking about always the same? They always blast something. Why? Because these posters are playing the instigator. They try to start trouble on the board for fun. That's all I am saying.

Legit complaints are legit complaints. These are not legit.

  3. As far as Nassau is concerned, wait at least 1.5 hours after docking (and letting passengers off) to leave. The ship will empty out early, and fill back up when it's meal time (late afternoon).

That's the best thing about a ship docking in port. You don't have that craziness that happens when you are waiting for tenders. Just get off when you want to get off, just let the mad dash thin out a little first.

  4. i just take an over the counter motion pill before I get on the ship. I'll take a couple more the first few hours onboard. I watch what I eat right off the bat and go easy on the drinking until i get my sea legs. After that i'm good to go unless the ship is really rocking. And, if it's really rocking even half the crew is sick. Not fun.

  5. Flame away at me. This isn't my first post.

All i'm saying is that 9 out of 10 first posts are about some horrible ordeal that the OP suffered through and couldn't wait to sign up with Cruise Critic and share their horror story with us all. Then they disappear off into the depths of cyberspace never to be heard from again.

What are the odds of that?

You have to take those posts with a HUGE grain of salt.

  6. Belize is a tender port, I think that's what they were referring to. :)

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Right, the ships anchor way way way offshore. It's peaceful on the ship

out there. Tenders will get you to port quickly. Hang on to your hat!!

  7. Apparently the OP was not looking for help.

He wanted to complain, found "Cruise CRITIC" in a google search, registered, blasted away, and left.

All you really need to know is that the OP has never posted before. Every time I see "post 1" i know it's gong to be a bunch of crap.

  8. MSC entertainment far exceeds the entertainment on Carnival, or any other ship that I've been on. Sharecruises is about right about the variety and number of performers; plus they all do their performing amazingly well.

The only show we've ever walked out on in 12 cruises was on the Carnival Magic.

  9. Been on Oasis twice, but was on Voyager three times and am going on Navigator next week. Also have been on Rhapsody.

Nothing compares to the Oasis class. By far it's our favorite class of ship. That being said, we enjoy the Voyager class and hope to sail a Freedom class in the near future. I can not see returning to Vision or Radiance class, however.

  10. I'm totally cracking up at your posts of all the varied responses about hot/cold pools! It doesn't appear that ANYBODY knows what their talking about when it comes to that subject...LOL Probably have to take our chances, and hope for decent temperature water.

I'd say prepare for cold, hope for warm. Most pools I've ever been in on a ship have been on the chilly side. You can't just stick a toe in, get in all at once.

  11. You can Lysol your room all that you want to. However, if you spray it in a public space and especially in an enclosed space such as an elevator, it then becomes a security issue. There are many people including me who find the smell of Lysol annoying.

    DON

I dislike the smell of it.

I also don't get the "let's disinfect everything i might touch" mentality.
