  1. Bit of a strange questions this but....

I am looking at 2 cruises in Oct / Nov this year, I plan on cruising alone and was just going to book it on a solo rate.

Due to the changing nature of my work i am not sure if I will be at home for both cruises until normally the week of the sailings. I know i would be too late too cancel and receive any refunds by that point, however would C&A points still be issued as the cruise would have been paid in full? I guess it woulf be a no show for a solo cabin....

Fingers crossed it does not come to this, and that i can enjoy my cruises, however i wondered if i would lose everything or if  double crown and anchor points for the solo cabin rate would still be added?

    Thanks so much

    Regards

  2. Hi all,

After we finish out Oasis cruise in November we have an evening flight back to UK. We used to use a company called my jet service which would collect our bags from the port, store them, then deliver them to us at the airport. It looks like the company doesn't exist anymore though!

I am travelling with my wife and baby so ideally don't want to be dragging around luggage all day. Just wondered if anyone had any other options for a similar service? We would probably just be going to a mall until our flight!

    Thanks

Recent reports on here were that Epicurean was closed on Iona.

When we were on Iona in March I pre booked 2 nights on the cruise planner at a discounted price.

When you get on Iona go to the Dining desk or the My holiday desk and book the nights you want.

Alternatively as soon as you get on the ship log on to My holiday app to book your dining, shows etc.

    Brilliant - thanks so much!

Have heard mixed reviews about the 'app' but will see what happens when we got onbaord!

    Thanks again

  4. Good Evening!

We are boarding Iona next week and wondered what the current procedure is with regards to booking speciality restaurants? Do we have to go to each restaurant to book a slot or is there a way to book all qt the same time?

We have quite a but of OBC to use and don't want to miss out before the restaurants fill up.

    Cheers

  5. Does anyone know if the given check in time is a hard rule?

We have been given 1600 for our upcoming Iona cruise. I haven't cruised on P&O in a long time but thought that was excessively late to get on the ship on the 1st day!

We have our 8 month old baby with us so didn't want be waiting around too long after we check out our hotel.

    Cheers all!

I'm not going to respond in a similar fashion as you did to me, but I'd like to know where you got your information about WHO.  Here is the official WHO description of the current Coronavirus outbreak:

"On this website you can find information and guidance from WHO regarding the current outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that was first reported from Wuhan, China, on 31 December 2019. Please visit this page for daily updates.

WHO is working closely with global experts, governments and partners to rapidly expand scientific knowledge on this new virus, to track the spread and virulence of the virus, and to provide advice to countries and individuals on measures to protect health and prevent the spread of this outbreak."

There is no use of the term "epidemic."  Given your prior postings, you may not believe me so here's the WHO website where the WHO consistently refers to this situation as an "outbreak."

    https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019

Again, my advice is calm down...

Typical yank response. It is categorised as the same as the SARS epidemic. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-51235105

It's not an epidemic!  It is only an outbreak.  Why use inflammatory language to rile up people who have already been riled up by excessive media coverage?  It is one ship out of 20 that Princess has that was quarantined.  Carnival owns about 110 ships.  Where is the hysteria about all these other ships being quarantined?

    Calm down already...

It is an epidemic. It's been classed as one by WHO. Know what you're talking about before you start posting.

  8. An absolute joke from Princess! We are over in singapore and have had one email which went to my junk mail. Our TA has had very little information other than they won't cover the flights to and from singapore, only the price change to get us home. Truly truly farciacal from a company already in the media spotlight. Given the timing it seems as though they waited for people to voluntarily cancel to save costs! We phoned every day last week as we had our doubts but were told the cruise would go ahead. I received the email at 1600 intoo my junk mail, way less than 24 hours notice.

Yeah it originated there, and now it's here.  That's how it spreads - people traveling and spreading it.  Spanish flu originated in China in 1918 and it spread as well - by sea - not by airline and it killed millions.  History repeating itself?

'It's here' - So are the USA now seeing a huge daily increase in confirmed cases like China? No, they are not.
