  1. We saw the show last Friday on the Escape. The show itself was great. The food was not good. We are vegetarians and had checked earlier in the week to see what was available. We were told that whatever the vegetarian option was in the main dining room is what would be served and we were okay with that because the food in the main dining room is usually very good. When we got there, we were told by the Maître'd that it was salad and pasta. Period. End of discussion. Okay. We received a very small salad with Russian Dressing and a bowl with a huge rim and a small area in the center of very al dente linguini that was stuck together. No bread on the table, no grated cheese was offered. I didn't want the beer that was offered and asked for a glass of wine instead which caused a tizzy of activity to get the proper person to take the order. I don't think the regular meal was very good either. There was a family on the tier below us and they hardly touched their meal. We used a specialty dining credit and paid an upcharge of $12.00 each and I think they could do a better job with the food.

  2. We sailed to Bermuda April 23, 2017 and there were many Portuguese Man O War on the beach and in the water at Horseshoe Bay Beach. The sting from these jellyfish can be very serious. We saw a man who had been stung multiple times and he was in extreme pain. Also, avoid the ones on the sand as they can still sting.

  3. Last cruise on the Breakaway about a month ago, we ate twice at La Cucina. The first time was with a Platinum perk and the second time we paid for it. They were the 2 best meals we had on the entire cruise, much better than the one at Cagney's. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. You have to try the gnocchi, it was the best we've ever had, very light and the pesto sauce was outstanding.

  4. We were on the New Year's cruise on the Breakaway last year. We had dinner in the Manhattan Room and they had a special menu for that night but I don't remember what was on it. There were parties in lots of locations on the ship. In the Manhattan Room, they had a large screen that was showing the party at Spice H2O,which seemed to be the main party. A little before midnight, they handed out party hats and noisemakers and passed around champagne. It was a fun night.

  5. We drive from Rhode Island and it takes us 3 hrs. but we've never done it on a busy holiday weekend. We take the Merritt Pkwy. to the Cross County Pkwy.to the Saw Mill Pkwy to the Henry Hudson Pkwy and that takes us around the city and right to the port. It's a much less stressful drive than taking Rt. 95 through the city.

  6. We purchased the 24 pack of water before our last cruise to Bermuda and it was in our room when we arrived. There were 5 of us and we needed to buy additional water during our cruise. It was the same price on the ship as it was before the cruise. Also, when we purchased it at the bar, they gave us a couple of cold bottles to take with us and they delivered the rest to the room.

When we purchased the water package for our European cruise last year, it was a mineral water that we really didn't like

  7. The wind tunnel created when the balcony door is open does make the inside door close especially hard and fast and it would probably be difficult for a child to control. We took our son and his family that included our 2 yr. old grandson on our last cruise and I kept reminding them about the doors.

  8. We were at Horseshoe Beach last Thursday and there were no lifeguards and the facilities were closed so there was no warnings posted. Access to the beach was down a very long and steep path. When we reached the beach, there was a man who appeared to have been stung multiple times and was headed for the hill. I remember thinking that I don't know how he's going to make it because it was a struggle for fit person and he seemed to be in extreme pain. All along the beach there were man o war washed up on the sand. We had our 2 year old grandson with us so we only let him go in the water up to his ankles, while all four adults watched the water around him and we stayed far away from the ones on the beach. The next day, we were talking to another family at dinner and they said that the man with the multiple stings had died along with another passenger who had either fallen or jumped from the very tall rocks that jut out the water.

  9. We recently used out Platinum certificates for dinner atCagney’s and I failed to read the fine print that it only covered an entrée upto $20, so we were charged for the sides. I didn’t lose sleep over it, nor did it ruin our great week, but I wasmore than happy to share my feelings on my post cruise survey.

If your listening NCL, If you going to give me a free meal, make it the whole meal, like the side of mash potatoes and asparagus is goingto break the bank.

The entrée didn't include any sides?

  10. We also have a cruise booked for April and have been struggling to find the best way to get all 5 of us plus luggage to NY from RI. I checked bus service which was pretty inexpensive but then we would have to take a taxi to the pier and not sure if we can all fit in one taxi. We also checked the train from Providence and the rates were not too bad but again, we would have to take a taxi from Penn Station to the pier. We decided to take the car and park at the pier which is what we usually do because it's so convenient. It's expensive but worth it. We don't want to pay parking for 2 cars, so we purchased a roof bag for the extra luggage.

  11. I booked a cabin on our cruise for our son and his family to join us and we chose the third person free for our perk so the cost for our grandson was less than $100.00. When I made the final payment and wanted to purchase the insurance, I told the agent that I didn't need insurance for him because it cost so little for his fare and she said that we would still want to get it in case he needed medical treatment. I would think that the treatment that you received while on board would be covered.

  12. We left a couple of things in our cabin on the Breakaway and realized it when we reached our car that was parked at the pier. We went back into the terminal and spoke to the rep at the NCL information desk and they called someone on board and had them check our cabin. It took about an hour but we got our things back including an additional item that we had forgotten about.

  13. Its a package advertised on the hotels personal site... just call the hotel direct and ask for the cruise package... that's what I did. Its worth it.... just prethink what time you want to be at pier and get picked up at pier.

When you check in they will ask... we asked to leave hotel at 1030 and they were prompt... we asked to get picked up at 930 on way home but were off way early so it took awhile to get picked up..... if your doing self assist debark I would recommend asking for a 845 or 9am pick up time...

    Great, thank you
