The majority of my family is onboard with you. Please keep us updated, as they aren't able to check online info. Thank you. I hope you get in soon. The airport is going to be a mess

The cruise director just announced the port is open and we will be disembarking shortly. We've been listening to the link provided above so we knew the announcement was coming soon. It feels like everyone is ready to get off the ship before this storm comes in.

There is a YouTube l feed with audio if you want to listen in.  They opened the cargo side but the cruise channel remains closed as the accident took place in the narrowest part.  Along with investigation they mentioned in audio that the smaller ship ( 30ft they’ve said ) that hit the ferry sank.  My question there is what sort of depth clearance they have if it one the bottom in the passage point?  Anyway if you have access try that port of Miami live channel with audio and you can hear more

Can you share the link? Thanks!

I cannot imagine that they would switch the port. Seems impossible when everyone is already here and waiting to disembark/embark. It would turn a nightmare into a disaster scenario.

I thought the same thing. We fly out tomorrow morning so we're not as anxious as some of the other guests that have flights today. We have 27 in our group.

Please keep us updated as you're able. I give Carnival a lot of credit because this isn't their fault and it seems they were the first to notify their passengers of the delay. I've been mingling with passengers at our hotel and everyone is appreciative of the hourly texts we've been receiving.

Our cruise director has been giving us updates every 15 mins and guest services has been in overdrive helping people. There are quite a few people that have missed flights. One of the staff mentioned they have never seen anything like this before and we may have to switch ports. Has anyone ever seen/heard that before?

  5. I'm onboard Celebration right now. It's a lot going on. Someone onboard needs medical attention and the coast guard is doing a special embarkation for them. They said we may not be off the ship until 12. The staff here has been great handling the changes and trying to make special accomodations

We just used the Verifly App last week. It was super easy. I did bring the hard copies with me. When we checked in they wanted to see Verifly. After they looked at the App, they stamped our boarding pass and we were on our way. With technology not always being 100%, you should have your copies. I never want any reason to not be able to board the ship.

This was my experience in Miami as well. It was super quick and easy.

We were on Mardi Gras last week. Several of the shows are musical. Family Feud and Deal or No Deal were pretty good. There is a show called M Theory that is an illusionist. It was good. Late in the week there was a show that had Voodoo in the title that we were told had acrobatics included but we didn't see it. We arrived about 45 minutes before the show and the place was packed. There wasn't even a place to stand and watch. We gave up and found something else to do. Do not miss the Flying Scotsman's show. He covers several 80's songs and he is really good.

The voodoo show was good. My kids and I enjoyed it!

You can log in on carnival.com, select that cruise, click on "Booking and Order Details," scroll down to "Missing someone? Invite them to be your Cruise Companion," enter their email.  They will get an email to confirm.  We did this on cruise in December and it linked all of our bookings.

I was coming to type this exact thing . This is what I did for our large group and it worked flawlessly. We had a group thread and when we were ready to eat I was able to check us all in from the app. You can also unselect if someone doesn't want to join.

I forgot to mention that there was a note that came with these saying to ask my steward for more if needed.

I had asked our steward for another and he said he needed permission from his manager. My husband like the fit of these better as they went over his beard easier.

That option depends on the port, most of the time you pay the cash before you board. In the past you paid at the guest service desk, and still a few ports that offer this option. Easy enough to keep tabs on what you have spent with the Carnival hub app. Add more as needed.

We have a $500 gift card too. Could we use that?

  11. Question, we've always had a credit card on file for every cruise but decided to opt for cash since we have 2k in onboard credit. What's the process like for using cash vs adding a credit card. Do I HAVE to put down cash? If so, when do I do that? It's for my family of five if that helps.

  12. I purchased a box of 6 from emed and it was approved, overnighted and arrived yesterday. We sail on Sat 1/8 and I had appointments booked as back up if needed. I was worried since we had 6 tests and 6 people that I would run into an issue and need my back up appointments at CVS but none at all. We all tested negative and were completed very quickly. From start to finish each person was about 20 -25 mins. It was perfect 😊

Number one reason to get a PVP. You can always get hold of them and they will take care of any questions or issues you have. Call or text them, you'll get a prompt response.

My PVP still hasn't called me back (called last week) and I ended up handling the situation myself. with multiple calls with 3+ hours on hold.

This can be confusing.  But from my own experience, which seems to coincide with reports of others on CruiseCritic -

When ordering, don't worry so much about what names the tests are registered to.  It is okay for one person to make the purchase for all the tests.  Just answer the questions as if you are the sole end-user and do whatever it takes to get the the on-line site to approve your purchase.  As I understand it, this process was originally designed for individuals who needed to take multiple periodic tests, like maybe for a job or something.

Once your order is received, each individual test kit (containing one test) is now available to anyone.  Each person has to set up their own account as instructed on the outside of the test box.  Search YouTube for some excellent videos of folks walking you through the whole process.  It is quite simple, but there can be issues.  I, for one, could not understand the proctor's accent.  My wife had to help me.  Without her, not sure I could have competed the test successfully.  Others have received kits that lacked certain supplies.  Highly recommend ordering extras.  And do NOT open any of the individual kit boxes until connected to a proctor, and they instruct you to open 'er up.

To tie this back to the original post, just out of curiosity for those who have ordered the home proctored kits as Plan B or C, why not use them as Plan A?  Not being critical, inquiring minds want to know.  Thanks.

    This was super helpful, thanks!
