  1. We stayed just 2 rooms forward of the Family Harbor Lounge (2421). It is under the Galley (kitchen) which seems to never close. Sounds like pulling a refrigerator across the floor, which was our ceiling. Also dropping pots and pans sounds. Started around 3 in the morning about 6 nights of our 10 day cruise.

If you overlay the deck plans, the galley is above cabins 2354 thru 2426 on the port side and 2361 thru 2443 on the starboard side. I would avoid anything in between.

We are booked in room 2421 for our cruise in June I was hoping it wouldn't be an issue over our room especially since this was the last room that could accommodate 5 ppl and had a balcony. :(

  2. We were scheduled to sail on the Magic 9/9. We don't plan to go on the rescheduled 3 day cruise leaving on 9/12. Thinking of holding off cancelling until we see how bad things get over the weekend. If they wind up cancelling and offering refund rather than credit towards a future cruise, I'd prefer the refund. Anyone else of this mindset?

Ditto. I haven't rescheduled any travel in hopes that either the storm won't be as damaging and we can still leave or they cancel altogether.

  3. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, my guess is that the miracle you are referring to is delaying embarkation until Monday.

Having said that, passengers are responsible for getting to and from the port, and the cruise lines have rarely if ever seemed to factor that into their decisions, since it is explicitly stated to be a passenger responsibility. So as long as the COTP is good with the embarkation taking place, and the governor hasn't enacted a ban on non-essential travel, and any number of passengers who live locally can Uber from home to the port to take the cruise, then that may matter more than anything else.

I believe all flights are delayed until Tuesday.

  4. I received an email last night saying Conquest was cancelled because the ship can't get back to port on Saturday . I think thye are trying to salvage as much as they can of these cruises by shortening the 7 days to 5 days .....

However for us waiting. We need to cancel or change hotel and air reservations !

Is it supposed to hit Florida Monday?

  5. Just received a message from Carnival BDM . The Carnival Conquest sailing is cancelled and email says it can't get back into port Saturday . Praying everyone is safe ....

    Good Evening Everyone,

Please note we are cancelling the Conquest sailing for Sept 9th as the ship will not be able to return to Port Of Everglades for this Saturday due to Hurricane Irma, therefore, I’m sad to announce we have to cancel our seminar at sea.

The safety of our guests and crew is priority for us and therefore, and I hope you understand. We will issue a full refund to you in the next week or two.

Thank you for your understanding and I hope to see you onboard soon in the near future.

Have a fabulous evening and stay safe!

    Warm Regards,

    Marilisa De Simone
