  1. Because those old green and white papers were not boarding passes. They were TICKETS, with actual cash value.

No ticket, no board as you need to pay.

I still used paper tickets in some markets into the 2010s. You do not want to be standing in line to board the one flight a week, when their computers go down. Those of us with paper tickets flew, the others did not.

Wow, nobody else had a screenshot or had saved it to Wallet? I do both - I would have flown without the paper ticket.

  2. We have put our dishes in the hall because we were told to by RCL staff, perhaps this has changed, it used to be other staff that collected the trays, not your room attendant, if that is still the case you would be adding work for your attendant by not putting them out yourself. It would be a good idea to check before doing either.

  3. Our email said to pay a week before, which surprised me. I asked if they had changed their policy. Jaime said that there were too many people pretending to be Cortran’s and picking people up on them lately. He said if I wanted he would change it to when picked up. I told him no worries, leave as is, I’ll pay the week before and not worry about it at pickup.

  4. We will to and if it isn't decent then we will have it replaced. I guess the passengers will be the ones having to remind RC that they need to do a better cleaning job. I have read about some cough that people get while on the cruise that can last for a couple of weeks. They have a name for it, but I don't remember what is. I wonder if this can some how be related? I ended up with a cough that lasted a couple of weeks from our last cruise in March. I got a cold on the second to the last day so that is what I attributed it to. I have never had a cough from a cold like that and I almost went to the doctor, but it slowly started to go away so I didn't bother. We will 100% be checking the filters from now on.

Our cruise on Oasis last January I woke up in the middle of the night right in the middle of the cruise with a bad cough - was so ill I was in bed the next night at 7:30 - on my cruise![emoji15] cough lasted about 2months. By the last day my DH had the cough as well.

  5. Hi! Looking for opinions, this will be our 2nd time cruising out of Port Canaveral. Last time we came in 2 days early to check out KSC, etc. and stayed at Homewood Suites. This time we aren’t flying in until 8:30pm the night before. I’ve been looking at different scenarios and think the following might be the most economical way to go. Originally I had booked the Hyatt in the airport for convenience sake, but it was going to be very expensive to really only appreciate it for a couple of hours. We finally decided on booking the Resort at the port, much less expensive. We also booked smart-two shuttle, we used them last time and they were great, (they actually emailed me to tell me my flight time had been changed before the airline)! It will cost an extra $40 for them to pick us up after their usual time, but it’s still cheaper then the airport Hyatt. What does everyone think? Is there a hotel I haven’t thought of that may work better? Thanks in advance!

  6. This is why I'm down on the promenade deck or my balcony. I don't get in the pool much, and if I do I don't really need a chair because I'm in the pool. I would love to sit for an hour or two in a pool chair from time to time but there is no way on earth I would ever partake in staking a claim or protecting it all day like that. Too stressful, and I've seen the fights that break out which can get ugly. I wish they had a one hour zone for people like me but they don't so I make do. I try to book cabins close to the stairwell/lifts so it's a quick trip for a drink to bring back to the balcony. I swear on Anthem there are people in the Solarium who probably should be checked for pressure sores. I like to keep moving so I walk through and check out the scene there from time to time. It's nice during first seating as people tend to clear out.

A 1 hour zone would be a great idea! I can’t take lying in the sun more then 1/2 an hour or 40 minutes. I would gladly enjoy the chair for some sun, then vacate it for the next person!!

  7. Thanks so much for sharing your review and photos, loved them! We have just over a year to wait for our turn on the Oasis...sigh. Really looking forward to it, and we will be in room 9600 so maybe right next door to the one you were in? You said there was room on the balcony for a lounger, do you know if the steward will bring one if asked?

I’ve heard that they won’t allow them on those balconies and that if you bring it yourself they will put them back, but it may be worth a try!

I know how you feel, we have a little over a year to wait now until our next cruise on Serenade....

  8. Thank you for all the awesome pictures. We will be in a large balcony a few floors directly above you in 12596 in April.

You will love it! My photo really doesn’t do it justice. You could easily have a couple of lounger chairs out there. First time there was enough room to actually suntan on our balcony!
