  1. And until they are included in the fare, I have the choice to pay cash for the services received. I can, if I choose, remove, auto tips, in full or in part because that is they way Carnival allows it to be.

That's because the tip goes to the individual not the company. Big companies could care less if you stiffed their employees cause it doesn't affect them. The only people hurt are those working hard to serve you.

  2. My last two solo southern itineraries were on the Celebrity Summit, Dec 2014 and Dec 2015, and both times the Celebrity fare was less than Carnival's.

As far as The Fascination, I stopped cruising that class of ships 10 years ago because the ships were old and dated back then. I can remember plastic palm trees on one of them.

Shop around, you'll find better ships on other lines and might find better itineraries and fares too.

Royal has a nice southern itinerary that I chose for my October cruise.

  3. Well we are going out of Puerto Rico in October on the Fascination. We do have a balcony, but the thrill for us is the itinerary, not the ships. There is so much negativity about this ship, and while it may be an older class of ship, you can still eat, drink and have fun. Hit some beautiful islands. I am very excited to be sailing out of Puerto Rico and to have two full days in Puerto Rico before the cruise is a big plus!

I chose the adventure of the seas out of San Juan in October 8th. It hits the abc islands and is 8 days instead of 7.

  4. Took his tour in september. Hodji (sp) was our guide and his female friend was in the front of the truck with her. He seemed to talk to her more than to the guests. A little disappointing. We also cut it VERY close to the departure time of our ship. Decent tour at a good price.

  5. Please, yes RC and the Captain didn't expect the storm to be this bad but they knew we would be going through a bad storm (warned us during the life boat drill yesterday) and they gambled with our lives. As you point out they are very experienced (this is their newest ship so most likely their most experienced captain) surely they know how storms off the east coast can be very unpredictable and severe with the ability to intensify quickly and they chose to try to out run it, period. Do you remember what happened to the El Fargo? Enough said...

And if it wasnt as bad you would complain over a changed itinerary.

  6. I do admit we also don't miss the chocolate and never needed a deck of cards, but I like to have clean fresh towels after I shower....so that would mean if turndown service is only once a day, that we would need 6 bath towels because we both shower am, afternoon after being at port and evening. I wonder if they will give us a problem in giving us 6 bath towels, if I don't get that I won't be happy at all. I don't mind not getting the towel animals.

Lol you need a new towel each time?

  7. The people that do not want to carry a purse , do not have a pocket in what they are wearing , and hate lanyards would love them !

You would have the option ...so it is a win in my book.

I agree people just don't like change .

I think people don't see the need for change. Personally I wouldn't wear it so it is easier to carry s card in my pocket than a band.

  8. Why did everyone switch to credit card keys for hotel rooms instead of regular keys? It gave no huge gain to hotels and cost tons of money to upgrade systems and install new door locks. Because it's forward progress and as technology changes so does everything else.

So many overly dramatic people on this thread. This isn't even something happening in the near future yet people are panicking. Who knows if they might move to something like what Disney does. I personally wouldn't be surprised. But if and when it does happen it won't matter what the consumer wants or thinks makes sense. Just like Disney, they will do what they feel is the most beneficial. And the consumer that can't deal with change will grumble for a little bit, get over it and continue to sail anyway.

And really I believe if most had experience with the magic bands at Disney they would see what a big deal it isn't, to wear them or use them.

Because if you loose a key card they can easily program a new one rather than getting a lock smith. You compare apples to oranges to make try to make a lack luster point.

  9. Not from Carnival, I did receive it on an upcoming Celebrity cruise along with free gratuities, $300 OBC & free internet. I love Carnival but I do wish they would get on board with treating those in suites with a bit more perks like the other lines.

They would have to charge more than and cut out some of their demo.

  10. While I am so disappointed to lose the Breeze, Galveston has the WORST itineraries. I would not fly there to take a cruise. They can only go so far.

Thrilled that the Vista is coming to Miami, and once the schedules are out for Spring 2017, we'll book one on her.:D:D

We are currently booked on the Magic out of PC next July. Looking forward to a new ship and new islands.

Secondly, why the Fascination out of San Juan? I mean, REALLY???? Crappy ship doing a great itinerary. Just frustrating. No way in HELL I would book a cruise on that ship. Guess we'll just wait until the the "next dancing of the ships"

    :mad::mad:

Agree with your second point, and that is why we are going with rcl next year. we love cruising out of san juan, so many awesome ports.
