Monday morning at the 'ol salt mine... I'm going to really try and make at least a few consecutive non drinking nights this week, so wish me luck.

Mostly uneventful weekend here. A few beers and a movie on DVD Friday evening, then not much at all yesterday. Lunch over at Havana Cuban and then stopped by the liquor store for a big bottle of good tequila. Yesterday evening, margaritas and I worked on my paintings for a while and listened to some CDs until it was bedtime.
One exciting thing happened yesterday. My buddy from Florida came up here only to find a lady living in his house. She claimed to live there, but ended up taking off once he called the police. I secretly wish he'd have called me instead. I would've loved to bust through his front door armed with one of my big scary rifles and run the lady off...
Today, nothing much of significance other than changing the oil in my car and heading out to Mediterranean Bakery for some lunch of chicken shawarma, babaghanoush, and tabouli salad. Right now doing some laundry and drinking a margarita while watching golf. I would have liked to have gone out for some Mexican food for Cinco de Mayo, but I'm sure all the Mexican places in town are packed, and my margaritas are better anyway... Now just trying to figure out what I'm going to make for dinner. At the moment it's looking like scrambled eggs and bacon, since it's here in the fridge already...

So for those that have been on the Carnival Jubilee:
What's the vibe on that Southern Landing Aft Patio Pool area since I have an Aft Extended Balcony?
Poor Man's Havana Pool Deck or crowded and boring?
Haven't been on Jubilee yet, but on the Mardi Gras and Celebration it didn't really excite me, and I never really spent any time back there, only passing through. There is a little infinity pool and a couple of larger mattress type loungers that get chogged. There are two huge rectangular hot tubs around the corner on the starboard side, as well as the summer landing outdoor bar. Directly inside from there is Guy's BBQ or whatever they call it, as well as a few restrooms...

Leave it to Greg to take two different tours as well as spelunking all in the same day... He's definitely a man on a mission.

The guys left over an hour and fifteen minutes ago to pick up lunch, and still aren't back yet. Apparently there was some kind of problem with the order and they had to make something else while they wait. Two of the guys are going to have to leave for a delivery before they even get back, but I suppose everyone's lunch that was originally ready is going to be cold before they get back either way. At least it's Friday.........

We had a pair of new to us rug dealers show up today. They had about six pallets of stuff on the truck, and at least they brought their own pallet jack. When we brought the stuff in, they said that we need to take off our shoes in order to lay them out. Sorry, not happening. So, now they're doing the entire thing themselves while the six of us stand around and watch. Their choice, not ours.

Another Friday rolls around at the 'ol salt mine... I wouldn't argue against a nice easy day today. We'll see...

Are you going to do a live?
Maybe a little bit before in Miami, and maybe more afterwards, but I'm not purchasing an Internet plan on board. This cruise is going to a "real vacation" just for me...

I could've easily stayed home in bed all day today... Not sick, but I'm just not feeling it lately. Every day seems like the longest day ever. We're in for another doozy here today with a couple of customers that spent two hours here yesterday. On the way out the door, they said they'd be back. Not good news at all for us. I'm most definitely leaving here for lunch, if only for whatever's left of my sanity...

First time on board the Horizon in 2019 there was a huge water leak two cabins down from me, and I also saw several buckets around the ship catching other leaks...
On another note, what time does it get dark in Aruba? Your pictures from last "night" look light until pretty late...

That feeling of existential dread walking from the car towards my work place... I can't believe it's only Wednesday:(

During lunch break I logged into my health insurance account and it appears that I might have ended up getting the colonoscopy for free due to the provider not getting it pre approved! According to what I'm looking at they submitted it but the insurance, BUT there's a note underneath that says "This service is not eligible for payment. Your network provider was required to obtain authorization before you received this service. An authorization was not received. Participating providers may not bill the Member for this service."
If I end up getting away with this without any type of bill, there yet may be a cruise for late November / early December in my future!

Slow here so far, so the time is dragging... I brought some survival stuff for lunch today since it's supposed to be storming around lunch time. Hopefully that'll clear up before the afternoon so I can get out for a walk. If I'm stuck in the apartment with tequila there's danger that I end up drinking it.

I can't wait to finally get back to Aruba exactly one month from today, also on the Horizon!...

Somehow I made it through last night sober. On several occasions I was walking towards the freezer for the tequila, but I resisted. Now just beginning another beautiful day here at the 'ol salt mine...

We ended up being able to take a break from the rug dealer, so I raced over to Publix to see if anything looked good. Spoiler alert: it didn't, but I needed something either way. Chicken tenders, black beans, and an oil logged egg roll. No pictures, since I didn't even bring my phone with me. We're only halfway through Monday and I'm ready for this entire week to be over.
