  1. First time on Harmony. Few early thoughts.

1). Too many people. Hoping the crowded feeling diminishes as the week goes on

2). Really need a third column of elevators and stairs. Know it won’t happen but even today in port the elevators were a mess

3). Who ever designed the 7th floor area by the elevators should be flogged on the poop deck. It is crazy that you can’t walk from port to starboard without going down one floor, cross over and come back up. WORST DESIGN EVER.

Overall it’s a great ship. Kids are loving it. Service is great and MDR was good night one.

Could you please tell me who the Loyalty Ambassador is currently? There desk in on Deck 6 I believe inside the Schooner Bar Area. Thanks!

  2. We were thinking about getting the wow bands but I might have to rethink that. I am happy you had a great cruise even with the few issues. :)

The WOW Bands are great all around but for ordering drinks. You can do as my DH and I have done before and also carry your Sea Pass card for the bar. What's an even better Idea is to pick the bar you will frequent most. Tip the Bartender heavily on day one and introduce your spouse as well. Then you can basically walk up to the bar and say (for example on the last cruise) "Hey Sammy! I need another.. Mr. Michael 8224!" and voila no Sea Pass card or wow band needed!

  3. Thanks for the talk on the wow bands, we have been wondering if we should try them. After seeing a couple of other complaints about things and now this I think we will pass on them.

  4. Ok I will start with this give me input to change point system, places, ect. Total possible points 160 pts

VENUE AND DECK # (EACH PLACE WORTH 5 POINTS)

    ROYAL THEATER 3,4,5

    MAIN DINING ROOM 3,4,5

    RISING TIDE BAR 5,8

I'm not sure if this matters or not but... I don't recall a "Bar" per say in the RT or MDR?!?! So if you are stating to have a drink in each location that would be fine unless I'm missing where the bar is in those venues?!

Also since RTB starts and end on 5 & 8 do you get credit for each floor are having a drink on (ie... Deck 5,6,7 & 8) or just on 5 & 8?

  5. Hey All! So here's the thought/question I have...

My husband & I are going to be on the Harmony on November 10, 2018 for my BDay. This happens to be the ONLY 8 night cruise that Harmony is scheduled to do. If you look at the other 3 sister ships itineraries they happen to be "altered" as well so I'm thinking this is going to be RCCL's publicity photo shoot cruise. Here are my 2 questions

    1. Was anyone on Oasis or Allure during the last photo shoot at sea? If so did RCCL do anything Special for everyone?

    2. What is the "Experts" opinion of my theory of the above mentioned cruise?

Thanks in advance for your input & answers!

  6. I agree I did not think they had one.

Then again some ships start something new and limit it until it becomes popular.

The Anthem of the Seas had Mystery Room for 1 day for only 20 people about 2 years ago. Then Harmony put one in and made it expanded.

Thank you for responding to my post, however you are talking about something totally different. The OP is asking about a Murder Mystery Dinner... not an Escape Room which you are referring to.

  7. Thanks for stopping by!

I will be doing a separate review with photos, focusing on the trip itself each day, while this one is more focused on my opinions. Stay tuned for the other review. It may be a week or two, as getting photos on the computer is a pain, and I am in the middle of a battle with Photobucket.

    Crew edition coming soon! :)

Love the review Joe... But what I really need is the Cruise Compass for the Western Part of your cruise please! Would like to see what the activities are like for that cruise as we will be on it in September! Thanks in advance for your help and post!

  8. We originally ordered the now discontinued premium package, several months ago when it was on sale for approx $47. Then, cancelled/rebooked it when it went on sale for an even lower price of $42. Then, they changed the packages and moved us to the deluxe one for no extra charge. I think the original cost of our drink package was $54, but I could be wrong...

If I recall correctly from our Oasis cruise in November 2015 it was $65 - Premium, $55 - Deluxe and $45 - Beer/Wine. I don't recall what the discount was, but when we purchased online we got an upgrade to the Ultimate Package for the Deluxe Price.

  9. Who knows, but she needs to learn what the right of "free speech" really is.

We all know there has to be more to that story or there would be a few others on here banned also.

As for security guarding the door, more than likely the occupants either are wanted on a warrant or they committed a crime onboard. Unless you know their names so you can google them and check public records, you're unlikely to ever know why unless it's a really high profile case.

I completely agree that there is more to the story! Being in the Customer Service Industry for over 22 years I can tell you a few things...

    1. No matter how much you try to correct an issue for a Guest/Customer there are some people out there that are NEVER going to be satisfied & will complain about anything to get something for free!!

    2. From the sounds of the article this is exactly what Brenda did... complained about anything and everything and was compensated for what RCCL found to be true and agree with. (RCCL did state that they did NOT agree with MOST of what Brenda complained about.)

    3. The reason she was banned was NOT for complaining or even posting her review on here!! She was banned for posting the exact compensation amount she received on the board and refusing to take it down. RCCL would indeed BAN someone for posting that information because as WE ALL know 1 Bad Apple on Cruise Critic spoils the bunch!! Her posting the compensation she received started a **** Show with RCCL & others that were not compensated the same for similar situations.

This is a prime example of how COMPLAINING too much can bite you in the ass!

  10. Troykahack, If the Concierge says that it is not possible then i simply say thank you for your time and walk away. No harm no foul. I always have a wonderful time onboard and will enjoy my first New Years cruise. I'll just wait for my March cruise on the Oasis to move up to D + and enjoy the benefits.

The really funny thing is I posted this as a joke because my wife is a "Rule Follower" and wanted to get her response. Instead I get a reply "It's folks like me who ruin it for everyone" That person must be very lonely being the Judge, Jury and Executioner

As a Matter of Fact I'm not lonely at all! So lets get the straight...

You logged on and posted as your wife?!

Your "Wife" gets called out and the you post as yourself... And again you BLATANTLY said you know the rules and basically could care less!! So why even bother posting the question if you are going to do what you want anyways?

And yes!!! it's people like YOU that ruin it for everyone.

    #justsaying

  11. If I understand correctly, when you board the Harmony you do not get your sea pass at check in. You hold on to your boarding pass until 1 PM, and at that time one sea pass is outside your cabin and one inside on your desk, with your Wow Bands.

So will we be able to use our drink package at the pool bar at noon? After boarding early this is our usual way to start our cruise!!!

Can I ask where you got this information?

It's my understanding that WOW bands are only in your room if you are a suite guest?! I may be mistaken... But from everything I have read WOW bands are not FREE but are available for purchase.

  12. Points taken. However, hear me out:

    1. In reality, how many people on a given cruise will be "1 cruise day away" from D+? I'd bet less than a handful. The Concierge is fully aware how many CL-eligible cruisers are on board. If he makes a determination that he can afford a concession or two, isn't that up to him?

    2. Staying in a non-suite vs. GS and receiving the subsequent perks is a specious analogy at best, as it is doubtful RCI would extend suite benefits as a concession to anyone. The Suite passenger has paid significantly more money for his stateroom, and is thus deserving of the accompanying perks. A passenger with 174 cruise credits (1 short of D+) plus an additional day or two on the current cruise has already proven his loyalty. If RCI chooses to offer him a perk or two it is really up to them.

I completely understand where you are coming from, but I completely have to disagree.

Point taken about Suite vs. Non Suite... However what if we were talking about a Pinnacle Member (who basically get Suite Perks even when staying in an inside cabin). They would have paid significantly less then myself but still get the same perks!

So while you are correct in the aspect the RCCL can and will do what they want... The OP should ONLY receive what perks they are entitled to when they started the cruise NOT what the next level is (even if only 1 Cruise Day away)!
