  1. We used Tyrrone Griffith for a tour of Barbados. He took us all around the island, with the first stop being Harrison's Cave. The price for the day for the 2 of us was $125. This did not include admission to the cave which was $31 per person. Tyrrone made the reservations for us.We had a great day with Tyrrone.

  2. We were in Barbados this past December. We wanted to see some things that were not part of standard tours. After recommendations from this board, we used Tyronne Griffith, to take us around. He did not disappoint. He took us wherever we wanted to go and was extremely knowledgeable.

  3. We just came back from our Caribbean cruise last week. On the advice of this board we used Tyronne Griffith for our private tour of Barbados. He did not disappoint. He took us where ever we wanted to go including Harrison's Caves. He booked the reservations for us and escorted us in to make sure that we got our tickets. He was very knowledgeable and very professional.

  4. I contacted him last week to enquire about a tour and he answered my very promptly. I e mailed him back woth a question and he never answered. I am now wondering if is is away.

He quoted me $175 USD for his island tour and Harrison's cave. I thought that was high compared to what other people said they paid. I am wondering if the price he quoted me was in barbados currecny.

  5. We stayed there a few years ago when it was Howard Johnson. We also picked an inside room and it was perfect. Didn't hear any noise. The room when clean and comfortable. The location was incredible- We will be staying there again on our upcoming cruise in December.

  6. We used Ramses for an overnight tour this past October. We had about 35 people from the roll call that decided to do this. We had a full size bus with bathroom. We also had an armed securitiy guard travelling with us at all times. We stayed at the Le Meridian- a five star hotel which was magnificent. We saw everything that we wanted to see. Traffic in Cairo is horrendous. Coming from NYC we are used to traffic, but have never seen anything like that. To accommodate the traffic, our guide juggled the order of the things we did so we could get everything in. The only down side was that because of the traffic, we were late getting back to the ship. They only thing that saved us was that the ship's sponsored tour busses got back even later. I highly reccomend Ramses.

  7. We toured with Bully 2 years ago. He took us all over the island- wherever we wanted to go. We had suggested some places and with his suggestions we put together an itinerary. All you have to do is tell him you want to see the island and he will know where to take you. Our tour was for 4 hours but ran closer to 5. He only wanted to charge us for 4 hours be we paid him for 5 anyway. I highly recommended him.

  8. I contacted Hans to book him for December and he said he doesn't book that far in advance and to contact about a month before the cruise. I like to plan in advance and don't like leaving things for the last minute so I am looking for someone else.

  9. We were in Belize in December. RCCL originally offered the tour then for some reason stopped offereing it. We were faced with the same decision of whether to book privately or not. (We useually book privately) We decided that based on the length of the excursion, we would be cutting it too close and were afraid to take the chance. We did the ruins at Xunantunich thru the ship instead and really enjoyed the day. Xunantunich was also a long day and believe it or not we hit traffic as we approached the pier. We were late getting back and they had to put on an extra tender. Had we done this privately we would have missed the ship.

  10. We spent a few days in Vancouver pre and post cruise this past September. The trolley is definitely the best way to see the city. Be sure to get off and enjoy the sites. Stanley park is absolutely beautiful. There is also another free trolley that takes you to different sites within the park. Since it was raining pretty hard when we we were at the park we took the park trolley rather than walk. We also spent some time at the aquarium. We then got back on the trolley and got off at Gastown. We went to Storeyum and enjoyed it very much. There were many other stops on the trolley that we didn't have time to get to.

The next day we went to Capillano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain. They are very close to each other and can be done on the same day. We had a great day.

We also took the ferry over to Granville Island which I did not enjoy as much as the other sites.

I hope this helps, we planned our stay in Vancouver from the advice of people on these boards and had a fantastic time.

  11. On our Alaska cruise we heard the alpha call twice. It is followed by a location. The second time it was in the Windjammer right behind us. All crew members- waiters, chefs and bartenders responded, but the medical team was there in a matter of minutes. I guess that the entire crew must have some sort of emergency training.
