I know the Yacht Club is exclusive to YC suites but was wondering if for the most expensive suites (Royal and Owners Suites) will they allow you to bring two guests to dinner once or twice during the cruise?

just wondering if there are any additional perks like my question above for those suites that may be unwritten but common?

Because you are staying in a more expensive room than me, the rules shouldn't apply. Is that what you're asking?  Whether you're in an inside cabin or the RS you cannot bring others who have not paid into the YC. By all mean you dine with them, or go to the speciality restaurant.  This strikes me as a wee bit showing off.

In my experience even though there is officially a no shorts (except children) or swimwear most people will get away with smart shorts but I have seen swimwear turned away several times.

In fairness I don't see that as unreasonable, if you want to wear swimwear you have the buffet.

MSC are generally very relaxed on their MDR rules.

I think you will find every cruise line has a no swimwear policy in the MDR, I could be wrong but I'm not aware of any.

I'm unsure why you are replying to me.  I asked the other poster if they were kidding.  I would never wear swimming stuff to a MDR.  Thats why I asked them if they were kidding.

    Hi

What is the dress code in the main dining room during breakfast and lunch.

Are swim shorts and a tee shirt allowed or have you to change into smart shorts.

Tell me you're kidding regarding wearing swimming shorts to the dining room 😞 😞

Would have happily booked a B2B, especially at current prices, but a shortage of time off prevents it.

Can't complain, we have a cruise on the Anthem and a B2B on Freedom later in the year.

Strange, its been £41.80 (+ the 18%) every day this week in our cruise planner.

Must be different on all sailings, just checked at its still showing on mine as £38.76.

  5. Been on many MSC cruises and mostly eat in the MDR. Sometimes we order off the menu and sometimes use the buffet.  We are always given menus when seated.  We have also cruised with RCCI a number or times, they too have a buffet in the MDR where you can choose one or other or mixture of both. A buffet in the MDR is not limited to MSC.

  6. They didn't have any kettle in the room when I was on this ship last month.  But they do have Yorkshire Tea Bags in the buffet.  I brought my own hairdryer as I find the ones onboard a bit too weak for me. They are also located in the drawer and the cable is attached,  so not a lot of movement.  Unless you wife has fine hair, I'd recommend she brings her own.

Dear JP,  Thank you.  But I want my audience to understand succinctly what I am saying ( thus the lack of hyphenations and more pejoratives ) when I am "winding" them up.

I had to Google a couple of the words in your quote. Not sure if your meaning to be funny, but your cracking me up 🤣🤣

Dear Sensei,  Perhaps you could fill in for my present concierge who is obviously sending me and my readers to the 'cheap seats'.

By the way, I found a great 'toast' from our favorite poet Robert Burns (a favorite of mine anyway).  New Years is coming and I plan on using it to my best satisfaction.. "Here is to us !  And who is better than us? Damn few, and they are all dead!"

Fabulous Scottish quote. Wish I could send you a recording of how to say this in the Scots tongue

HERE'S TAE US; WHA'S LIKE US? GEY FEW, AND THEY'RE A' DEID'

Enjoy your cruise, and stop winding everyone up 😁😁😁

  9. Just off preziosa last month, and purchase 30 items of laundry.  We sent this in 3 batches without any problems.  There was 2 different packages if I remember correctly.  One you could send in batches and one you had to sent altogether.  I booked direct through MSC UK website.

Indeed! I'll be the one propping up the bar with a Merlot in one hand and a snack in the other!

We're leaving tomorrow - as there are no direct flights to Genoa, so we'll be spending the day and night in London (forecast at 100% chance of rain! 😞 )

Thanks very much Bea. I had similar bother back in May - I had to prompt them to get the e-tickets sent, despite me having completed all the details for some time.

Yep we're the same. Flying from Luton Airport tomorrow morning

    Hi folks,

I ran a thread like this the last time I sailed and there was a decent response/number of questions that came back. On the presumption that people find it helpful, I thought I would run something similar this time.

I'm boarding Preziosa on Wednesday for a week 'round the Western Med. If anyone is sailing on her soon and has any specific questions, I'm more than happy to track down the information so that it helps with your pre-cruise planning.

As with my last cruise, I hope to do a detailed review on my return - so whilst I'll update this thread with answers as and when I find them, it probably won't slip into a 'live' review format. Like I say, I think a few people find this kind of thing useful so I like to offer the opportunity before I sail. 🙂

I've sailed Preziosa before in 2014 - and I'm glad they've put in a Butcher's Cut since - but I can't remember awfully much else about her from all those years ago so I'll be looking over her with fresh eyes.

Also boarding the Preziosa on Wednesday.  Might see you there Captain 😁

I have $1200 on-board credit on a forthcoming cruise due to schedule and itinerary changes. We are all-inclusive drinks, and don’t do massages etc., so we are unlikely to spend much of it on the ship.

How and when can I convert some of it into cash or a transfer to my credit card account?

    Many thanks.

    Cheers, John.

I've found the best way to get your hand on the actual cash is to take the money out of the casino.

Put you room card into one of the slot machines and add credit. I'd do this over a few days rather than in one go, say $300.

Play a couple of $$ and then cash out.

Take your slip to the cashier and they'll exchange for cash.

If your daily service charge are not already included,  you can use some of you once for that too. So win win

Wow not feeling the love! Can’ t we all get along. If prohibition still existed I think some people might be more understanding if people had a drink or two.  Would you feel obliged to call security on them. Maybe just turning and waking away would be sufficient.

Everyone deserves to have a god time.  If 5% of the ship is smoking or three small areas, I think the remaining 95% should be enough for the non smokers.

i don’t smoke! But can apparently deal with the few folks that do.

    Well said.

Just off the Preziosa from Hamburg.

Any Question's, Just ask and I will try and answer.

I will do a review later.

We are on MSC Preziosa next month.  Would you by any change have a copy of the drinks menu.  We have the Premium Package and was wondering how restrictive it was.

  15. Wow do you feel good about beating up an old lady? You added nothing positive or helpful to the conversation. You won’t stop me from posting information that I personally witnessed. Shame on you for being so rude to a stranger.

No one knows what age anyone on this sight is. Playing the old card is a bit low. You were a bit rude too with your post. This post is about 2 years old and I said the same then as I do now, YC should welcome all both young and OLD.

  16. Hi, All!

Just got back from a 7-day Med cruise on the Divina. We were in the Yacht Club with our two daughters, age 6 and 3. Let me know if anyone has any questions!

    Hi Labrugnoli

I was on the same cruise in YC. And I'm sure I remember your daughters, did the both wear lovely white dresses on the formal night. My 6th time on Divina and I can't wait for lucky number 7.

I agree with everything you've written. Everyone just wants to make you happy.

What did you think of Mr Kamil, isn't he such a lovely man. Glad you had a great time :)

  17. Has anyone had any issues with regard to anything coming back damaged ?

Yeah we had 2 t-shirts and a shirt with really small ink marks on them. We were in YC and the butler was left us a note, and was really apologetic.

Asked us to go and see concierge were they immediatel offered us a full refund on the laundry package and $100 OBC. Was really generous I thought
