  1. Cocktails are made of spirits. :) If you want straight scotch, for example, they will be happy to serve you that.

    :)

:) spirits in cocktails....! I could sometimes argue that's not the case lol... but what I meant was do they serve gin, vodka, whisky etc as part of the drinks package :)

  2. We are booking davina this year and we have 2 children age 11 and 7. We have only cruised majesty of the seas previously which did not have much going on so think davina as a bigger ship should have stuff on for them to enjoy . I know my 11 year old would prefer languages and baking to running around playing games.

I've heard the classic drinks package is now being offered with fantastica bookings included ? and we want to upgrade to the premium package that includes mini bar too and champagne 😊

  3. Yes, they could go to any open food venue, including Windjammer. Tap water is available at any bar.

Bringing on any beverages, except for the two bottles of wine, is technically prohibited. At US ports, this rule is generally not enforced for soft drinks, except during spring break time. I don't know how it is at non-US ports.

Thanks, we will be boarding at Miami. My kids don't really like US flavoured juices (like grape or cranberry :) ) or carbonated drinks so don't think a drinks package would be any good for them.

  4. Milk and juices are complimentary, but usually only available at restaurants, and juices only in the morning.

Thanks, so if they were thirsty during the day (not at meal times) would they go to somewhere like the Windjammer for a juice or milk? They could only get water at the bar? I take it I could take my own 'soft' drinks on board for them?

  5. Interested in this too. The bus takes you and your luggage to the airport at 2pm but unsure of how you time it to get to the shuttle bus for 2. How do you know how long the tours take if hopping on and off? Can anyone provide experience of this tour?

  6. Welcome to CC! Some feel the need to be moral police. ;). Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I'm not referring to anyone specifically, just making a general observation based on experience.

That said, I have gotten some excellent advice and help over the years. I love this resource and try to ignore the bad eggs. :)

Better cover our full body tattoos up and take all our piercings out as well ;)

  7. Men should at least wear long trousers and closed shoes for dinner in any restaurant that is not a Mc Donalds or similar. Especially if they have reached a certain age. This is a minimum dress code requirement in most countries and it should also be applied on a cruise line that claims to provide reasonable quality standards in the restaurants. I can not believe that a grown up man who can afford a four star cruise vacation can not bring at least one clean long sleeve trouser and a pair of shoes that are not sneakers or flip flops. To bring a suit is no longer required but should we move to the other extrem with short trousers, muscle shirt and flip flops during day and night? How does this look match with a cruise ship that claims to be elegant and luxury?

Gosh that's a bit strong isn't it? I'm talking about knee length smart/casual shorts, smart (loose) polo shirt and deck shoes, not hot pants, crop top and flip flops. [emoji15]

  8. Thanks for the replies. I thought the traffic may be worse as everyone heading out of disney at the end of the labor weekend. Turnpike seems more favourable then!

Would you say is better taking the turnpike from Miami up to Orlando too? We are stopping off at port St lucie on the way up which I think it's off the i95. Also is it very easy to get from Miami airport onto the i95/turnpike. This will be on a Sunday evening and bit anxious of driving at dusk. Never flew into Miami before. Thanks again x

  9. Apologies for jumping on the thread but I read this with interest.... My husband is the same re clothing, he was only planning to take shorts (knee lenth, cargo type shorts) with a polo shirt. Would this be okay then for the 4 night Majesty cruise? Our confirmation states we are on the 'early dining' does this mean a 6.30pm sit down? Thanks

  10. What does your answer have to do with the O.P.'s question? It's great you do this but it doesn't help the O.P.

O.P. - I don't think the passport extension applies in your case. I believe this applies to someone who is living outside the U.K.' date=' at the time their passport will expire and they can apply for a 12 month extension.

You'll probably have to just renew the passport now, to match his cruise documents and then apply for a new passport later. You don't want to risk being denied boarding. :([/quote']

Thanks. I rang RCI who said I would be fine and then they responded later via email with 'you need to renew '!

Think I'll just take the hit and renew now in old name and renew next year in his new name 😲
