  1. My name change/renewal passport application sat in Texas for 10 days, USPS said it was lost, but all of a sudden it was found and delivered the same day.. I mailed it with more than 8 weeks prior to my trip, but since it took over 14 days to get there, I leave in 6 weeks, I hope I get it.my advice pay for insurance and/or guaranteed delivery time.  Now I wait and see.... Fingers crossed it will be faster since it is a name change.

  2. I was born on the 29th, too (I'll be 16 this year), but it's really not a congrats. You have to spend your whole life answering the question, when do you celebrate your birthday, on the 28th, or the 1st?

Seriously! Or the stupid jokes... Wait so you are 7? Not sure how hard it is to divide by 4! Ha ha

  3. So you only turn a year older every 4 years...Congrats....

I did specifically book a cruise this year to be gone on the 29th...as I don't recall ever sailing or being on vacation during leap year in the past.

Thanks! I will be 10 :)! Pretty big deal! HA HA!

Sounds like your "Beach Resort Getaway" is at Tesoro = tranquil cove

Tesoro is best choice for less $, or just go to the beach there for FREE (rent a chair and umbrella, lots of food, drink, things to see and do)

Mazanillo - Tesoro - ($10 taxi each way) - best beach, lots to see and do

    contact here => https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tesoro+Manzanillo/@19.1043707,-104.3506507,292m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!1m2!2m1!1sManzanillo+sailfish+statue!3m1!1s0x0000000000000000:0xbcdde2f2d2a2a6ce!6m1!1e1?hl=en

Mazanillo - Las Hadas - less to see and do ($10 taxi each way)

THANKS! Might just book through cruise to use shipboard credit......

  5. Manzanillo or Mazatlan? What do you recommend?

Our Cruise has a "Beach Resort Getaway" in Manzanillo....says.. Tucked away on the tranquil cove the Resort will be your idyllic tropical getaway.

I am just wondering if we should book that or go with a hotel day pass?!?! We do want some beach time too and I have a 5 YO.

    THANKS!:D

  6. Have you filed for and received your denials from Medicare and supplemental insurance yet? The complex case referenced above is similar to yours, and was handled by Berkely.

This was not for medical stuff, it was for not even making it on the cruise! Got the barfy flu 18 hours before we left! I hope I did everything correctly! It was the princess platinum through Berkley!

Fingers crossed for 1-2 weeks ;-)!

  7. Currently, 1 member of our party has the princess platinum. He is pretty sure he can not attend, so he would get future cruise credit. Can this future credit be applied to anyone or just specifically for him?

Also, since there will now only be 2 people in our group, can we do a cabin switch?

    TIA!!!

  8. I posted the documents concerning the youth program from our cruise with our 8 year old GD. They can be found starting with post #16 at:

    http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2013204

These have all information about the Princess Youth Program. Only those listed are allowed to drop off or pick up children & only when they produce matching government id. They only allow children into the proper age group area and random adults not signed up with a child are NOT allowed in.

    Thank you!

  9. From what I understand (we didn't do the underage trips to the small kids area on my daughter's first cruise; second cruise' date=' she was old enough for Camp Carnival), parents taking underaged kids are only allowed to take them there at certain times during off hours. After the time for registration (the first day of the cruise), parents aren't allowed in there. I have always been asked for my ID (until the staff gets to know who I am and who my child is -- they will take a copy of your ID to keep on record) before releasing my child to me at the door of the center. The staff won't even allow you to take photos after that first night and not of any of the kids for privacy reasons.[/quote']

Yes, this is Carnival's policy, not princess....princess let's adults in....

  10. I can't keep my kids in a bubble and prevent pedophiles from viewing them at public parks, in the grocery store, etc. etc. Nor can I control what is in their mind when they do view them. I will say, however, nothing is going to happen to them in the kids center. They are highly supervised and I can guarantee if there was someone in there more focused on someone else's kid than the toddler they brought in themselves the counselors are going to do something about it. The rooms are not large and there are no private areas someone can take your kid away to. Pedophiles are opportunistic and the opportunities just aren't there.

I do understand this, I am not a stupid/naive parent and as I said I work for a school district, I am just wondering what it looks like, thanks for the reminders though....It just strikes me as different from most child care facilities.

  11. As far as I know, there have been no reports of pedophiles in the children's areas on Princess ships. (But that doesn't mean it never happens, I guess.)

The key is you never know who is in there getting off looking at your kid, I would think if anything ever happened this policy wouldn't be allowed! It is just weird to me that other adults go in a play, but again, I have no idea what it looks like. On Carnival, there just isn't the space for other adults in with the littles!

    Thanks for the info....
