  1. How was the food in the dining room?

The dining room was the only thing that fell short for us this cruise. We have always raved about the food in the MDR and, to be honest, the food was really good, but the service was not what we have experienced on other Carnival sailings. This was the first time that we were seated at a table for 2 and we were in a row of about 8 other tables for 2. We were on time each night for dinner, however, the waiter waited until the other 7 tables showed up to take our order. The first night we waited 35 mintues until we got our bread!

We after the second night, we decided to enjoy the other options on the ship for dinner.

  2. Congratulations!!! That is awesome! Another excuse to cruise........:')

Hey, if you can afford it, and have the vacation time, GO FOR IT!

Plus, you HAVE to be there! You are the mother of the groom!

    Congrats again! Enjoy!

    Thank you!

There's no way I'm missing this. What amazing is it will be the first time all 5 of my kiddos will be on the same cruise.

  3. We just got of the Carnival Sunshine this morning and were met with a big surprise - My oldest son, who proposed to his amazing girlfriend on 2/10, booked a wedding cruise on the Carnival Elation - THIS AUGUST!

When we left on the crusie last week, they were set to get married on a beach in St. Augustine, but after spending a few days on the phone with their PVP, they decided to do it aboard a ship! Their wedding and reception will actually take place in port on embarkation day to allow for any guests that would like to attend but cannot join the cruise.

My only problem now is fitting in a 5 day cruise between now and my 7 day on Magic in December!

  4. We just got off the Sunshine this morning. It was our second cruise on her; 7 days in 2015 and 5 this time around. We LOVE the ship - everything about it. Her layout is a bit different and takes some getting used to, but otherwise she's amazing!

If you have any specific questions, just let me know. Here's a quick pro and con list:

    Pros

Large beautiful well cared for ship

Lot's of dining options (Cucina del Capitano for lunch is fantastic!)

    Huge Serentiy Deck

    Carnival Hub App

    Beautiful gym

    Guy's Burgers and Fries

    Great options for live music

Lots of stuff for the little ones to do

    Amazing crew

    Cons

Common areas can get crowded, especially on Sea Day

Comedy Club is very small in comparison to the ship size

Wifi is SLOW everywhere and not available in most parts of the ship

  5. Last year, we booked 30 hours out! Living in central Florida, we don't have to worry about airfare since the furtherst port is just a 4 hour drive. My only regret on that that cruise is that we didin't research the ship (IotS) and were lost the first two days, but it was a blast!

  6. Thanks for your honest review. Our first and second RC cruises didn't wow us at all to be honest. My review of Independence sounds very similar to yours. Everyone looks for something different in a cruise or a cruise line and it took us until our 3rd RC cruise to realize what we enjoy about them vs. Carnival.

We hope to try a few other lines, but we will be back to RC one day.
