The Spring of 2017 schedules will show up in the Spring of 2015. Always 2 years out.

We are sailing on the Caribbean Princess in November. It's been several years since we've sailed Princess. I hope I'm not disappointed. We've always enjoyed this cruise line but have sailed RC more recently.

I agree. We've done it all. Cruising is the best.
Least amount of stress...and that's why I cruise; to rid myself of stress.

I too, would go for RCCL. But if you want party, Carnival is your pick. The demographics for Carnival are geared towards the younger crowd. We are in our mid 50's. Although age is not an indication of the type of relaxation you need. We just prefer a quieter, yet fun-loving crowd.

Thanks for the info on the Sanctuary. We booked an inside cabin for the first time ever...it was a great deal and we just wanted to get away. My wife is regretting the closet but I told her we would do the Sanctuary. She is happy now.

I am curious to know why this sale was extended? It could be because it was wildly successful and if you tie up your customers dollars over the next 18 months, they don't go to the competition...or it was not successful and you need more time to get the word out. I would love to know.

Just 1. I feel embarrassed compared to others.

A promotion like this did exactly what it should do, create a buzz about their product and get people thinking they should take advantage of it. I took advantage of it for a cruise 17 months in the future. I'll keep an eye on the price as will most of us...and only until then, will we really know. Move on it while you can...and change it in the future if you want to.

Do it. I did this a couple of years ago. Well worth the time.

Great work on keeping your cruising dreams alive.

I am sure there are several metrics that go into when prices increase or decrease on sailings. To suggest it is unfair or shady is a little extreme. RCCL is simply doing what all good business do maximize revenue.
While deciding on a cruise on the Oasis for 3 of us I watched the price increase on a D1 Balcony by $200 overnight. We decided we could go and we booked.
Because the BOGOHO was such a good deal I upgraded to a Junior Suite. Regardless of the fluctuating prices in my mind I booked a Junior Suite for 3 of us and the price per person was less that what we paid per person for 2 of us in a Boardwalk Balcony on the Allure last November.
First Junior Suite on a cruise at an affordable price for us and made possible by the promotion. No problem here!
I agree. They are just trying to maximize revenue...and that's OK, If they didn't make any money in this business, this industry wouldn't be here. Go with whatever you feel comfortably with. We used this promo to get back to cruising after a 7 year break (kids in college, weddings, etc)...and I'm happy they had it ready for us to sail again in 2015.

I've booked under this promo...but I didn't read the fine print. I will next time. Hopefully, I have no changes. Thanks for this post...at least I'm better prepared. Live and learn!

It looks like Thenford Grey is the way to go. Great info.

Fly SW with confidence. I've flown for business for over 30 years...and in my opinion, SW has their act together. I really can't say that about the others.

No phones, no email, no work...no one demanding my time.
-
Great info...my wife must eat a gluten-free menu and this is quite useful information although we are sailing on another RC ship.
-
Wow...we've always played bingo yet haven't won anything worthwhile. That gives me hope.

Not only is it going to be technically difficult to get these mega-ships much larger, I'm not sure it makes sense from a business standpoint. It's a supply and demand business and I think the demand has softened quite substantially.
Short cruise enough?

We are doing our first 5 day cruise in November after doing nothing but 7 day cruises. We are both looking forward to it. I'm glad to hear others have enjoyed the shorter cruises. We have to fly to FLL but I'm using points so that won't cost us anything.
