<smashes head on desk>
....I sail on Celebrity because I love the ships, love the relaxation, love the food, love the itineraries and AM A FREE INDIVIDUAL!
Not a sheep!
Absolutely agree with you.I fell in love with the Eclipse when I saw her....that is the reason I booked her for last year, this year and next year. Once we boarded, well what can I say! WOW
To the OP......Please by all means read what others say but remember, their opinion is just that. With nearly 3000 passengers on board, you can rest assured that not all will have the same experience. It is YOUR experience that matters. If you enjoyed your first cruise with celebrity, then chances are you WILL enjoy your next. Go forth and Cruise with relaxation and an open mind :D:)

We have done Sky Suite on Century, which my mum booked for my 40th Birthday, so a real treat for little old me. Lovely and spacious.
I booked a CC fora 60th Birthday 6 months later, because I liked the idea of her having fresh fruit and flowers every day.
We have booked CC class for this year because she wanted a particular room and it happenend to be CC.
I was looking at a cruise for me and my children and was going to have nothing above Veranda....HOWEVER, the CC room showed no difference in price when I booked it, so i thought why not. The boarding part is no issue for me, it takes as long as it takes, end of. I enjoy my cheap grotty bottle of sparkling plonk with a touch of Orange Juice, but other than the points, there is no difference and it certainly is not essential. To me, if it is the same price as a lower stateroom, then why not huh lol :D

As far as I am aware, the only sparkling water is perrier, which is Premium Package content but there may be others who know differently.

I have had nothing but good experiences with phone contact and Celebrity in general here in the States. Whether calling as a TA, or on my own behalf, I find them to be professional, courteous and knowledgable without exception. If they don't know the answer right off, they will find out for you ASAP. Now, if you are demanding, rude or trying to scam X, your mileage may vary...
Totally agree with you.
I have been reading on here that some people have had problems with the phone service, so I felt I should share my very possitive experience. AM so happy I rang. :D
-
I have decided to write this because there has been some negative comments about the phone service that Celebrity provide.
I have been researching my next cruise for me and my children online and was going to book until I realised some of the perks may affect my booking. So, i rang the helpline, (UK), and spoke to a wonderful lady, Razia Ajmal, who was very helpful. She took all my details, including captain club number. I asked about the drinks package perk due to my oldest only being 11 when we travel, she did not know, so went and found the answer.
She made me aware of my 1 category upgrade, sorted out the room I was looking at and asked me if there was anything they could to to be more helpful on board (I have some health issues) and she bent over backward to ensure I got everything I needed.
After the call, she sent me and email confirming all details PLUS another email saying she would get back to me with the other information I had asked for.
I have had a very very pleasant phone experience and got more than anticipated and I will be more than happy to recommend anyone with questions to ring them. If they are unsure of the answer, they go find out.
THANK YOU RAZIA, YOU WERE BRILLIANT :)

Hi to all, apologies if this is a really stupid question but for the past 45 minutes I have been trying to find out how to get the luggage tags but failed (European address). All set for a Bermuda cruise in July, online check-in completed, express pass printed and so on, but for the life of me I can not seem to be able to find how to prepare and print the luggage tags. There is a link in the Celebrity Online check-in to request the luggage tags but they can only be mailed to US and Canadian addresses. How do I get them if I live in Europe?
Thank you all
I followed the link to have them delivered with absolutely no problem and I live in the UK. It is strange not to deliver to Europe. Hope you mange to get them in time :)

The Solarium on Deck 12, with an indoor pool and Is Adults Only...and I for one love it. It plays lovely calming music. Has a musical dancing water feature which changes colour. And the fact it is adult only, makes it very enjoyable because it is peaceful. YES, I am a mum and know children love to run and scream and make lots of noise , which is lovely to hear. But when I want quiet, it is nice to be able to get that too. I take my cruise alone for the last time this year. I will be bringing my children on all future cruises,in the summer. BUT, they will only be by the pool outside with me, and will not set foot in the Solarium...(or run around screaming because they are old enough to know better...:D). Whatever you do, enjoy it...The Eclipse is amazing, hence the reason I am returning this October. x

But the issue is looking at the current bar menus would not help as there no cocktails on the menus that are within the classic package price level. I dont normaly drink cocktails but wanted to try some on our cruise but having no knowledge of what to ask for then I was stuck. The stress is caused by X. I'd like it to be simple but it wasnt.

In general, most bartenders onboard will be happy to make recommendations that are within your package allowance. I also have no idea about Cocktails, but I asked them to surprise me, as long as it was within my allowance. When I go on my next cruise, which granted is awhile away, I will see if they have any new menu's and post them here....well, unless someone else manages it earlier that is. :p

The US cannot book for 2 people unless and until Celebrity releases the FV for bookings for fewer than 5 people which, based on the experiences I posted above for the UK folks on our TA, should be the same time you can book for 4, or 3, or 2, or just take the cruise by yourself.
I don't think you have anything to be irked about.
I do not believe I would be wrong to be irked IF i had tried to book a Family Room a year or 18 months in advance, to then find that the reason my family of 5 could not get one is because 2 people in each room had them. Yes, I would be irked...lol. IF I did not get one due to all FV being booked to capacity, then that is my tough for being late to book. And if I tried to book last minute and they were taken up by couples, then again, tough on me for not getting to it first. Again, like I have been TRYING with no luck to explain, when I go onto the page to book a cruise, i can choose either 1 adult and 3 children, OR 2 adults and 2 children.....at no point has it been available for me to choose 2 adults and 3 children.....I am aware that I need to go to a Travel Agent or ring Celebrity direct to book a FV. I have no why I do not get the option to book a FV online, BUT THAT IS HOW THE EXPERIENCE IS FOR ME.....and as you have all pointed out to me so graciously, it is a very different experience than yours. All I asked, is how did any of you manage to book a FV for 2 when minimum capacity is 5. Obviously we all have differing experiences. Please Enjoy your cruises, no matter where they take you. Relax and Enjoy :D

Thankyou Kevin,
No not ideal at all. Yes I do like cocktails and would like to try more when I am on a cruise with the classic package. But I am just confused why they should put "All cocktails up to $9.50"....I really find that strange because as you have said there isnt a cocktail menu? Or Daiquiris either.?
Surely I am not the only one to like them.?
Please Celebrity if you are reading this think about getting a list with prices. You could even do Large and Small ones couldnt you.! If that would be easier. I do not want part of my day being wasted going from bar to bar to find one within my range.?
When I was on the Eclipse last October, there was never a list of drinks available....and no one had issue with it. I went to the bars, looked at the menu, and chose my drink. End of. If you have a favourite cocktail, then go ahead and ask if they can make you one within you package price. It can be quite simple really without all the stress. Enjoy your cruise and relax :D

I did point out that I made enquiries from the UK. But if the US can book a FV with 2 people but the UK cannot even book for 4 is that not somewhat unjust? I know it would irk me if when on my cruise with the children having to find a 5th person in order to book a FV and finding that a couple alone had managed it with just the 2 of them. No it would not make me angry or make me change cruise companies but I would be irked. Lol
-
I can't speak to anything that might be different in terms of booking in the UK, but the part in bold is not correct, at least as to USA bookings. Celebrity releases the FVs for sale to anyone whenever they decide to release them, and that can be *before* final payment. My spouse and I were fortunate to snag a corner FV sometime last summer for our Infinity TA in the fall; it was well before final payment. (And actually, now that I think about it, one of the couples on our Roll Call who also got a corner FV at the same time was from the UK.)
Not being rude, but please do not tell me I am wrong!!! I quoted the information given to me directly from Celebrity after I rang and spoke to them yesterday. Whether or not that applies to all countries does not negate from the fact that is the information I received from them. Please do not tell me I am wrong. Thank you
-
I rang Celebrity in reference to the FV rooms for myself and 3 of my children and was told in no uncertain terms that those room were NOT available to book for a party of less than 5...except where the rooms are released AFTER the deadline for paying in full. So I would like to know how you have managed that...plus, here in the UK at least, those rooms are not available at all online. They must be booked direct with Celebrity or a Travel agent.

The extra perks and private areas for suite guests do not concern me. BUT, I hope they do NOT introduce a segregated sun deck for suite guests. WHY?? Well, because I go on holiday to meet all kinds of people and it is such a shame to be segregated from other guests permanently purely because they have a suit. I do not judge people by the room they stay in...I do not even ask.
To be honest, with all this talk, I am starting to wonder how people will be treating my children when on board in 2016? Not Crew, but other guests!!!
-
My mum made a special request for a cake for my 40th last year on the Century. It was more than large enough for the 2 of us and we never did get charged......oh and it was very chocolately and very boozy lol ENJOYx
-
I got the martini taster set of 6 on the Eclipse October 2013.I had the premium package. The only charge was the amount over my allowance. As for multiple drinks.........we would get 2-3 glasses of wine and a diet cola or water every night.....in al bacio we had hot chocolate and water AT THE SAME TIME...drank the hot chocolate and took water back to room. Never had a single problem. Not one.
-
Wow, what a realistic and common sense approach. thanks for the refreshing view!
If they do publish a drinks list I need to know of the following are on it:
Purple Nurple
Sex on the Beach
Red Headed Slut
Appreciate the info. :D
Sex on the Beach is ALWAYS available. Red headed slut, well that is questionable and the Purple Nurple i believe is very popular :D

I apologise if I offended you, but I found it hard to follow your reasoning based on your own words(as highlighted)
I guess we're all different in our expectations!
as for your user name I don't mind it,, more foot in mouth than tongue in cheek!! :p
Thank you. I appreciate your apology and accept. Yes, we do all differing expectations. I do understand the concerns of people and sometimes my fingers type before can unscramble the words to write it properly, so it is understood that is. I am pretty sure that things will calm down and be sorted out, especially seeing as Celebrity has felt fit to post a list for the classic drink package holders and hope this will illimenate (excuse the spelling but it is 0109 am)some of the concerns for those people. I was not trying to undermine anyone or their opinion. :o
-
Don't be thin skinned...you stated your opinion. It's your opinion. I agreed with some if it, disagreed with some.....that's called discussion and that's what this site is all about.
Yeah I know but I wasn't trying to say anything horrible. And felt....well never mind. I will grow a thicker skin. EVERYONE has an opinion. And not everyone will agree with you all the time. Thank you for putting it in perspective. I will certainly learn the more I post :D
-
with a user name like that and statement like that you cant be for real??
we're losing the main reason this thread was started..
people paid for a product, tried to purchase product at bars and were refused.
why? because X did something illegal(in UK law)
ps, part of me hopes they only leave one choice of wine in your package (which by their policy wording can), but hey.. just be thankful
I did state that I was understanding of the frustration!! Why do people have to make snap nasty remarks when it is not needed? Am I not allowed to state that until we board, we know nothing definite??? I PAID NEARLY 700 POUND FOR MY PACKAGE. If circumstances beyond anyones control prevents me from
having the most expensive of everything, then questions will be asked and hoped answers be provided...as is the case here. IF my package was free, and the drinks I specifically wanted were no longer available, yes I would still query it, but would most likely upgrade to get what I wanted, seeing as I had not paid in the first place.
Yet again, when someone with a slightly different view opens their mouth, people turn on them. Well surprise! All I was saying is that we order what is within our limits. I have never ever booked a holiday based on the brand of alcohol offered to me FREE OF CHARGE. Sorry if i am in the minority, but I am entitled to my opinion!!!
Oh and by the way, the user name was tongue in cheek!!! So sorry you do not approve. NOT
-
I've switched sides, but not that far :) The new list on the eclipse was a major change in offerings...eg. one scotch vs 8 previously even though those scotches have almost identical wholesale and retail costs; similar in other areas. There was clearly (at least to me) more than cost savings behind that list. The new list is pretty rational...in fact it's pretty close to the old UK list...close but not exact which is OK by me. I now have an idea of what drinks will be priced within the package and I have a choice (in some categories there was not even a choice on the eclipse list). Unless Celebrity does some major repricing (eg this was just a sham list to quiesce the complaints), I think I have a good feel for what I will get on board...not exactly, but a good feel. If I want to move to premium scotches, I understand I need to move to the premium package. For normal bar scotches, I can stay with the classic package.
Who knows, maybe I'm being a fool in believing that Celebrity has now seen the light...it won't be the first time....
BTW...cute user name :)
lol, yeah I thought that user name would be appropriate under the circumstances. Although i did spend 6 months researching the do's and don'ts of the drinks packages, but not the brands because as long as there are drinks I will enjoy, and I could not worry about a massive bar bill at the end of it, I was a happy bunny. lol x
Celebrity Eclipse, which ports in the Canaries?
