  1. I love Oasis class! Going on Allure in October for the 4th time! Our experience has been that the larger ships are more efficient at getting everyone on board and delivering luggage in a timely manner. We also like all the alternative places to eat that are no extra charge. We often never set foot in WJ! Went on Oasis fall of 2016, it was great. Only negative was we never saw the aqua show. It was cancelled on numerous evenings due to lightning.

  2. Thank you for the review. I've subscribed and am following along. We've been on Allure 3X, but not for a few years and are booked in October. We always have a balcony, but are trying one of the end cabins on the boardwalk for this sailing. We also book the aqua show for the first night, just in case. On Oasis, it was cancelled numerous nights and we didn't have the opportunity to see it at all!

  3. Thank you for your review and detailed information. I made a note of your info. On Boatyard beach, Barbados. We typically take an excursion to snorkel with turtles. So, when you arrive, there's a place to register for the snorkel? Did you notice if there were a few different times? I was wondering if we could do that first, then return to the beach and get our chairs, umbrella and drinks and chill out for the remainder of the day.

  4. Thanks for the review. We're sailing on Liberty early February. We booked ages ago since Liberty had been the only ship visiting Roatan and Costa maya. Now they've added ships from Florida, which would be much more Convenient for us coming from NY, but everything is paid, so we will deal with it. Concerned about getting there from NY...hoping the weather cooperates. We're coming into Houston a day early. Also concerned about the cold weather. We are snorkeling at all three stops. May cancel if it's going to be cold.

  5. So, similar to Toothdoc78. On hold for 40 minutes after a very rude rep gave us attitude. While I was on hold, my husband called C&A number. That women was very helpful. She was able to remove our discount and give us the $400 OBC, which made the bottom line less expensive. I understand the discount is not combinable with many offers, but it shouldn't make the overall cost of the cruise more expensive! It's just silly that there was no way we could do it online. We had to waste 3 1/2 hours on three phone calls to resolve the issue. It worked out, but Royal sure doesn't make it easy!

  6. Started booking a grand suite on Symphony and it showed a $400 OBC, but once we signed in and it showed our C&A numbers, we only got $100 OBC. In other words, if we weren't almost D+ and we're booking our first cruise, or weren't loyal to Royal, we'd be given $300 more. Very disappointed, what's the advantage of being loyal to Royal? And don't say the lounge. We buy the beverage package, so free drinks in the lounge is not a perk for us.

  7. I've been searching and trying to piece together information. Looking at insuremytrip.com. So many options and it's confusing us. In the past, we just used Cruisecare, but know it doesn't cover everything. I would like to know what you experts typically use. Also, do you buy an annual policy? We take 3-4 trips each year, with 2-3 being cruises and the other generally a beach vacation. TIA

  8. Slight change in plans tonight. Dinner at 150 CP has been bumped forward to 6:30. It conflicted with Trivia. How mini zipper pulls does the Rat need? Maybe he's a pack rat. LOL, now this comes from the guy who's about to leave to go to flow riding. Pot, meet kettle.

News on the pool deck. Chogs are out but time labels are going onto unattended towels. Lisa is anticipating arguments, potential fistfights in 30 minutes or more. We will cut in to your regular scheduled programming if something exciting happens.

My DH, 25 yr old son with autism and I were on Harmony Sept. 16-23. Captain said the ship was full, but we surprisingly always found chairs at the pools. Perhaps the crowd didn't include as many sun worshippers as usual. Note: We DID like that since our cruise on Harmony in January, they have now restricted the sports pool to adults only. We were tired of being jumped on by unsupervised little kids.

  9. We just got off a 7 night on Harmony. My husband typically wears a suit on formal nights, but we had our 25 year old son with autism on this trip. I put him in pants and a nice button down short sleeve. On non formal nights, he wore shorts and an nice shirt. I always wear dressy dresses because I like to, and don't really care what others wear. There's a lot of boards and posts on other websites where people whine that they dint want to dress up on their vacation. Personally, I feel these people should stay in the buffets, but whatever. If you're comfortable in a tux, I say continue to wear it. I will continue to wear my sequined dresses.
