  1. In the description of what is included in the premier beverage package, it says "...package includes sparkling or still bottled water...".  Is "still bottled water"  the term Princess uses for regular bottled water?  I've never heard it called "still water".

That is wonderful to know!  Thank you, LibertyBella!

Just to confirm...  We would drive to the Canadian border and park our car in Vancouver, Canada?  Will Princess give me the information needed to find the cruise parking terminal?  I haven't had much luck getting information from Princess customer service so I'm a bit nervous.

The cruise port information will be in your personalizer.

If you click on the departure port, you will get information like I get for my upcoming cruise (details deleted to save space)

Do you really think that it is any of your business how much he gets,  Did your steward ask you how much money you make?

    DON

If I was to ask the steward how much he got from the pool, I would be asking for a percentage amount, not a dollar amount. I may be wrong, but I think when Incognito1 asked the steward how much he makes from the pool, he was asking about a percentage amount.

Agree!  I am the sole user of Android in the group we travel with...I take a LOT of ribbing for that!  My son uses WhatsApp even though he has iPhone mainly so that we can stay in touch with happenings at home.  WhatsApp works GREAT!  It handles text, phone and video calls.

I'm sorry to hear that you travel with such a bad group!  Go Android! 😁

I do not believe that you will need to change ownership if it is jointly owned. You just to need to show ownership by the person that is applying. You just need to make sure you apply in the name of the person that does not get the veterans benefit.

I wonder if they will accept the share's beneficiary. My CCL stock is in my IRA so I can't transfer it to my wife or make her co-owner.  (Just kidding - I already know that they won't allow it.)

Does anyone have a guesstimate on what percentage of the company are passenger stock holders?

According to Fidelity's research page, the types of stockholders for CCL are

    34.1% Intuitional

    16.9% Institutional mutual fund ownership

    2.5%  Mutual fund ownership

    7.5% inside ownership

    39.0 other

I may be wrong but I've always taken "other" to mean mainly individuals.

If you're going to have your choice of using Military or Shareholder benefit, I wonder if you'll have to start applying for military.  Instead of it automatically showing up like it does now.

I'll take military over shareholder.  I don't have to do anything for it now that it is in my account.  I've already sold most of my shares of CCL.  I kept 100 shares just in case CCL sees the errors of their way and allow the military and shareholder OBC to be combined.

I bought one of those after my first Princess cruise! 🙈 😂

Unlike most of my thumb drives I know EXACTLY what is on it! 😁

On  cruises, that's what was given to us as part of the photo package.  On the last cruise with a photo package, just got a regular flash drive.  What a bummer (and cheapness on the part of Princess).

    They did make it non-refundable.

"However, under the updated policy, the Military onboard credit will now be non-refundable."

They still haven't addressed the situation with a military person sailing with a non related stock holder in the same cabin. Right now it appears that only one person in that cabin can apply for OBC even if they're non related.

I meant non-refundable but still available even if you have shareholder OBC.

  10. I would like to have taken the UST.  But, all I wanted was a subset of it.  All I wanted to see was the bridge and maybe the engine room.  I didn't need or want most of the gifts included in the $150 charge.

How about a Geek Ship Tour?  All that is shown are the bridge and the computer server room?  Gifts?  A USB flash drive in the shape of a Princess ship.

Here's an interesting Cruise Hive article I just saw that was posted 9 hours ago. Did anyone else other than through an internal memo get notified of this pending change?

    Shareholder Benefits

Princess Cruises sent a letter on June 15 to shareholders and military members announcing several changes to how the onboard credits they are eligible for can be applied. The change is effective from June 29, for all voyages departing on or after that date.

Princess Cruises Makes a Policy Change on Benefits (cruisehive.com)

This shareholder and veteran did not receive a letter.  Even if it is via snail mail, I should have received it by now.

They could have made the military OBC non-refundable rather than make it a choice of it or shareholder OBC.

I do it online. In the personalizer there is a place to mark robes in room. The web personalizer works perfectly but if you prefer to fight the app by all means do so.

On our 5 cruises, I requested the robes.  At least twice, I had to request the steward to give them to us.

In July we will be on a Princess cruise rt LA to Hawaii.  We’ve been to HI many times but never on a cruise so in each port we are just renting a car.   I think all car rentals are at the airports.

    Two questions:

    1.  It feels like a hassle to go to the airport on each island to pick up the car.  Is there a better way we’re missing?

    2.  Will there be taxis when we disembark or should be reserve one ahead of time to take us to the car rental?  Or is there a better way to get to the car rental agency?

    Thanks!

We are renting Enterprise in Hilo, Honolulu, and Kauai.  I am getting conflicting information.  The web site says they will pick up in Hilo but when I called, the person answering said they can't pick up at the cruise port.  When I called Kauai, the phone tree hell eventually connected me to a live person - at Payless!  I haven't called Honolulu yet.

We are looking at taking a Lyft to and from Enterprise unless we learn they do have a shuttle.  I'm going to call again nearer our January cruise.

FWIW, I called the Bus and was told that youth can pay the youth fare in cash without the HOLO youth card (which is different from what the website says).  I'll be there in 3 weeks, so will report back if anyone is interested.

    I'm interested.

However, find a way to cover the ultrasensitive motion detector nightlights (particularly near the bed) because that will go off at the slightest bit of motion (like my foot slightly hanging off the bed).

I was on the Royal..  There were sensors under the two end tables.  I did not have problems with the lights.  They were aimed for the floor, not the ceiling.

All I hear is complaints about the lights; am I the only one that likes them?

Once you make final payment, you can use the Medallion Class app to book a time slot through Dine My Way. There may be options for dining room, private or shared table and dining time. Depending on what has already been booked there may be an option to select the same time and dining room for the whole cruise. If not, you can select each day of the cruise in advance.

I was able to book specialty and MDR time slots with my cruise not even being close to paid off.  At the time, it was over 200 days until the cruise. There was a charge for the specialty dining.  I checked my credit card.  The charge was listed as "pending" for a few days and then dropped off.  I was not charged.

That's a very good thing....great! But wouldn't it be a show stopper to be able to explore and do all that using the app??  I, for one, think so.

I prefer to do things like excursions and dining reservations on a laptop rather than the small screen of a phone, even a 6.8 inch phone that I have.  I think the app should be more of a viewer with the ability to make changes to what was entered on the big screen.

The dining reservations were a pain to do.  The interface sucks.  Give me check boxes and confirm/cancel buttons anytime.'

Please do not serve yourself into your own beverage container. Use the provided cups/glasses and pour into yours. The rest of us don't care to have our beverages contaminated by contact with your insulaged mug. Thank you!

That may be fine for non-carbonated liquids.  For carbonated liquids, each time you pour it, carbonation is lost.

How do people put liquids into their mugs?  I do not touch the spigot or pour spout or whatever I am getting my liquid from.
