    It should work.

The terms of the offer say that you need a single transaction of £750, and there is a good chance that what you are planning on doing will be split into multiple transactions.

During the last offer someone did report that they got the cashback despite it being multiple transactions, but I don't recall whether they needed to call to get it recognised.

Basically, you should be OK, but it isn't guaranteed.

Ok just called and as you advised Keith, it is 2 separate entries so just paid £800 towards the balance, still a lot more to pay but every saving helps!

No, you can only use the upgrade offer once. If you want more meals than that then I think it is cheaper to just buy a package for the number you want.

I’m not even sure whether it is possible to buy more than one additional package. I seem to remember someone reporting that they upgraded and then tried to buy another package and had trouble with this.

Edit to say, I have purchased free at sea plus for our upcoming cruise and do not now have the option to purchase any further dining packages online. Maybe you can onboard, or by phoning, but certainly not at the discounted upgrade rate.

Thanks Keith, think I will book 4 speciality meals and pay out of pocket for Q Texas Smokehouse

  3. Hello, I will be on a 10 night Bermuda, Bahamas cruise in august and I have 2 free speciality dinners included with my booking.  I will be buying the 2 additional dinners for £59 each but I was wondering could I buy this twice so I could go to 6 restaurants? Is this possible?  There is plenty restaurants I can go to and have always enjoyed any of the NCL paid for restaurants.  Thanks 🙏

  4. Doing my research for a 10 day cruise on the Joy in Aug 23 - vibe pass is available to be purchased now, but the price of $259 pp (we are 4 adults) is pretty steep.  Would love to hear thoughts on how busy vibe is as I would hate to pay so much and not get a sunbed or get access to the hot tub!!!

@steel1203 - unless you go to sleep early, I wouldn't be too worried about balconies on deck 9 above the specialty restaurants, as they close after 9:30 or 10 p.m. at most - cleaning or moving tables/chairs (if any at all, for vacuuming, etc.) are done shortly thereafter, especially with reduced occupancies sailing these days.

Do you have the cabin #'s in mind on Deck 9 ?  Other "downside" for some is the overhang behind with the lifeboats below, as it could obscure your view directly below ... not an issue for some but for others, maybe.  Extreme forward on Deck 8 and even 9 or 10 would, yes, subject to rough sea state and large waves for those concerned with getting seasick, even when sailing north to New England/Canada as there is that wide stretch out in the open North Atlantic.

I read your excellent review and helped me seal the deal on this ship - just need to make up my mind regarding cabins!  Thinking as I have only stayed on a regular balcony to maybe try aft facing but a few comments putting me off due to noise - maybe take earplugs!!

  6. Hello, I am looking at a 10 day cruise leaving NY in august 23 and am going round in circles with cabin choices!!  Can’t afford Haven, but need 2 cabins one balcony and one inside very close or maybe 2 balcony as not much difference in cost?  Got option of large balcony and inside on 8th floor but near the front which I was not keen on due to seasickness issues and then 2 balcony on 9th floor but concerned about noise as restaurants etc on 8th.  Also looked at aft cabins but seems to be noise issues.  Any Joy experts who can guide me??  Thanks

I did not do the snorkeling through NCL because they didn't offer it on the Breakaway or it was sold out. We did our own snorkeling with Placencia Wildside Adventures. I can tell you Belize has some of the clearest water and lots of marine life. They have the largest LIVING reef in the world. Sadly Australia's Great Barrier Reef is pretty much dead. You will see amazing stuff if you are going to be by the reef. Does the description of the excursion say exactly where on the reef you'll be snorkeling?

The website is a bit vague ......

Snorkel the azure waters of Belize's Barrier Reef, the world’s largest living barrier reef. This is a shallow water entry, well suited for beginners and intermediate snorkelers.

Depart from the Harvest Caye Marina on one of our comfortable snorkel vessels for the short scenic ride to a beautiful site along the reef. This location is teeming with multitudes of colorful reef fish, co-habiting among the beautiful hard and soft coral formations, intermingled with sponges, sea fans and delicate sea anemones. Possible sightings of spotted eagle rays and schools of larger fish are quite common, large starfish, queen conchs and sea cucumbers also call this patch of the reef home.

After snorkeling, re-board your boat and enjoy the return trip with complimentary rum or fruit punch while listening to Caribbean rhythmic vibes.

So not sure where their tour will take us

  8. Well having now seen the work, which is very nice, it turns out NCL outright lied when I was repeatably assured the kids splash zone was not being removed. My you. Her two where very much looking forward to it and was o e of the reasons I chose the Star. Good job I saved the emails, should I make a complaint?

Can I ask where have you seen images of the upgrades - I cannot find anywhere thanks
