I read the same article from Cruise Critic, and as usual in all of their scenarios they omit Princess. They discuss RCCL, NCL and Celebrity in depth, but no mention of Princess.
I generally do not read a lot of the on line articles by Cruise critic because most of the time it is common sense stuff that anyone who has been on a cruise should already know.
What struck me about your comment is the observation that Princess is usually omitted when comparisons are done with other Cruise Lines. It did kind of stand out when Cruise Critic did it's "Best of" survey. Kind of hard to believe that Princess was excluded from so many catagories.
Do you believe there is a bias against Princess on cruise critic?

hang your checked breakfast menu on your door the night before...no charge for most items including coffee which is almost undrinkable and we stopped ordering it...
I kind of view their coffee like electrical paddles during a heart attack. Not preferable but necessary. Thanks!

I just saw an online article on Cruise Critic that mentions some cruise ship companies are charging to deliver room service items. The article did not specifically mention Princess or I could have missed it. I understand certain items on the room service menu may have a charge but not a delivery charge on ALL orders.
Can anyone verify whether Princess is doing this or not? and if they are how does this (or should this) impact potential gratuities for delivery?
We are going on the Grand next month and I need my coffee first thing in the morning. Thanks!!

Since you each check in separately you can come at different times.

We are going on the Grand to Alaska in June. Should this happen to me the atrium is where I am going to set up residence.
-
If I were to camp out in the atrium in what I normally wear to bed I'm sure there would be some kind of reaction. The other passengers might revolt!
It's got to have been more entertaining then the Karioke (sp) lounge.

You don't need a "premium" cabin to get the larger balcony on Grand/Crown class Caribe deck.

Thank you for the Clarification. That is true. The premium part came into play because of the stateroom we chose. Although, when we switched from the Sip n Sail promo to the 3 for Free promo we ended up getting that premium balcony room for the cost of a standard balcony.

The specialty restaurants is one of the main alternatives to not having to "dress up". Mode of dress is what you would wear in the dining room on any non formal night. Enjoy? Think I might join you.
-
We were on the Crown last year just one deck above a premium balcony. It looked huge. In June we are going on the Grand to Alaska. This time we made sure to get a premium balcony on Caribe Deck. Cannot wait.

I can highly recommend the Vanilla Latte with a shot of Jameson's in it. I like it in the morning. :D
Coffee with a shot of anything makes life worth living.

Didn't it follow the sip& sail...promo?
I am Pretty sure you are correct. We booked our Alaskan cruise on the Grand in conjunction with the Sip and sail promo but changed to 3 for free because it worked better for us.

How about this?
Sorry...it didn't create the link properly, but I checked, if you copy and paste it will take you there.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so very much.

Everyone shut up about the Spa area pool. Please.😀
Really? Did you just tell everyone to shut up? are you that entitled?
-
I will start by apologizing because I have see it here before I just cannot remember where. Does any one have a link or a picture of the International Café Coffee Menu. we will be going on the Grand to Alaska in June and a travel mate was asking. Thanks for any and all help.

I think the issue is not that the dates are not out at this time' date=' but that the reps were rude or otherwise inappropriate. Guess I'm lucky because I've never encountered that.[/quote']
I have never found the Princess travel counselors to be particularly knowledgeable considering they have to answer the same questions. I always find out the answer then have them handle the details.

The pools aren't usually very warm. We spend most of our pool time at the Lotus Spa pool in the hot tub.
The Lotus Spa pool is more private than the Terrace pool, usually less crowded and upgraded loungers.
Shhh! Don't tell anyone.;)
I totally agree that the Lotus Spa is a better choice but , wait, here it comes, I am not going to spend $40 a day when I have already paid for the pool once. As far as letting kids (and parents) know they are at the wrong pool I have lost my filters years ago and have no problem redirecting both parents and kids. It is an adult pool for a reason.

We are going on the Grand in June to Alaska. I am hoping that the weather will be warm enough to enjoy the terrace pool without kids.

Holy Crap! Several months ago I ordered 24 bottles of water for our Alaskan cruise in June at the cost of $13.80. If I had waited that same 24 bottles would cost now close to $50. These ships are expensive to run and I don't begrudge them making a little profit. BUT THIS IS OUTRIGHT ROBERY!

Last cruise we ordered the cheese and cracker plate just to add to the fun of getting in your room and unpacking. The food was there when we arrived and it was a tasty little treat before lunch. The best bargain in the world? probably not. But added to our memories and lets face it when you pay $8 for I drink who cares about a cheese plate. Your on vacation for God's sake.

Thanks for everyones input. 15 minutes does seem a little risky.

We will be going to Alaska on the Grand in June. We see two excursions in Juneau. The first is supposed to end 15 minutes before the second one begins. Based on those who know about Alaskan excursions is that too close?
-
Actually, I believe in miracles! This happened on our VERY first cruise which happened to be to Alaska on the Celebrity Galaxy;
We were treated to the Northern Lights on August 28, 2000. This happened after leaving Haines and I think we were one of the first to see them. It was after dinner and we went outside for some fresh air.
And there they were! I went inside to tell our friends and word began to spread. About 30 minutes later, the Captain announced it all over the ship.
This was very special as it would have been my Dad's 85th birthday on that day.
We will keep our fingers crossed. Maybe my mom has some pull up there.

Can I submit refer a friend for someone who is booked but not yet sailed?
I did. We explained that although he is traveling because of my sister and I we were not aware of the Refer-A-Friend program until after they booked.
-
Last month I referred 5 friends. One friend successfully processed. I think the others unintenionally deleted the princess email. They want the credit. So do I! Can I simply resubmit the info or must I call princess? I've called about refer a friend before & the rep could not answer my questions.
I would call Princess and if the agent does not get you what you want then ask to talk to a supervisor. I say this because I just went through this. The agent said I was not elgible (sp) for refer a friend because my brother had requested a brochure some 5 years earlier. How they knew that I have no idea. After speaking to a supervisor everything was straightened out. I got the Refer-A-Friend OBC for both my brother and his wife. So did they. Keep trying. Good luck!
Room service service charge

I am in total agreement. My original question about tipping referenced how that is handled with a delivery charge. On Princess We always tip when our coffee is delivered in the morning.
