With all the good reviews of Angie, we will certainly find one of her venues at some point when we sail on Britannia in 3 weeks.

Sorry John, I was just assuming that as Pencil162 mentioned returning from a cruise on 18th December it would be our Caribbean cruise.
-
John, I was under the impression that if your are on a fly/cruise you have to complete the PLF 2 days before returning to the UK.
Pencil162, it sounds like we are on the same cruise (Britannia, 4th December). I am leaving ordering the day 2 test until after this weekend as things are changing so quickly. When we went to the Med in September we ordered our 2 day test from Boots. We received the reference number required for the PLF instantly by email and the kits came within a few days. They both had different numbers but I can’t remember whether they were also needed for the PLF, but I took all the details with me anyway.
-
Hope you are feeling better soon John.

Well said Mystical mother, I totally agree.

When we were on Britannia in Sept/Oct, free guest wifi was provided for passengers to complete their PLF towards the end of the cruise, help with this was available too. You can also use free wifi in port if you get off the ship. If you have 4G on your mobile you can connect to that on the ship when in port. The latter is what we did sitting round the pool. A fellow passenger guided us through the process, although to be honest it was quite straightforward.

Good news, I have now booked our PCR tests for Wednesday 1st December. One more thing to tick off the list.
-
That’s great Shipareus. I’m still waiting for the December dates to appear on the Boots website. Have a great cruise, let us know how things pan out when you return.
-
Sorry, 4th December.
-
I’m still in Bolton. We fly out to the Caribbean on 6th December.
-
Lesanne, I have just realised you are talking about the Barbados Immigration and Customs form, not the PLF.
-
Sorry, I can’t see any reference to the Passenger Locator form for Barbados.
-
Not that I know of at the moment but things do change daily. I would hope that P & O confirm everything that is and when needed.
-
The PCR test needs to be taken in the 72 hours before you fly out to Barbados. The LFT test is taken in the UK airport. When you land in Barbados you go straight to a coach and onto the ship. Unless anything has changed since our last Caribbean cruise in Feb/March 2020.
-
Lindyloo, unless there has been a recent change, you each need to complete a separate PLF.
-
Thanks for your advice Shipsareus. Have a great cruise, I presume you are on Britannia. We have sailed on her several times, last time Sept/October just gone.
-
Shipsareus, what date are you flying. I tried to book our tests at Boots for Wednesday 1 December but only had dates to the end of November.
Denarius, I think Recova is the company who will process the tests for Boots. Apparently you can have the test any time after 9am on Wednesday if flying on Saturday. The turn round time is shown as 24-48 hours.

Yes, we are going to Boots in Bolton. I spent most of this morning filling in the (Recova) registration form. It wasn’t very user friendly but now complete except for confirming the order. There are two PCR tests on their list and I just want to check I am ordering the correct one.

That sounds like a good plan for 2023 Bertie.

We had Ellison’s both ways on our recent Med cruise. The coaches looked very new, upholstery was hardly worn and the drivers both ways were very good and helpful to passengers with mobility issues. No complaints from us.

When we returned from our Med cruise last month no one checked our PLF forms. You just send them via your device to the Government website it came from. (Unless things have changed since then).
-
Thanks for this Denarius, it’s very helpful. I still worry though that some of our older cruisers will be overwhelmed by what is required. We are in our early seventies and have a grasp of what is required for us to do. The last time we went to the Caribbean was in Feb 2020. On the flight out the lady next to me was in her eighties. She was lovely and well travelled but admitted that she had no Interest in mobile phones, computers etc. She loved cruising and wanted to continue as long as she could. There will be a lot of people who will not be able to comprehend what is required of them these days and it makes me sad that it will impact on their choices in future years.
-
Thank you Janieb and Denarius for your advice. I will do some more research, obviously we are not the only ones with this issue. I just wish there was more information from P & O.
-
Thanks Phil, that sounds familiar. I did Google it but couldn’t find anything about arriving in Barbados for a cruise. Will have another look.
Dining Preference Question?

Jean, I completely understand why you posted your concerns. I don’t post as much as I used to. Some of my posts were never replied to (not interesting enough I imagine), some were replied to negatively (I don’t know why) others were replied to positively by the lovely people on this site (you for one). It’s not the site it used to be (that will get me some more negative comments) but I still enjoy reading the banter and the useful information posted. Keep posting.
