  1. AT&T has a ship wi-fi package for $100 for 30 days. I’ll be cruising in Italy. They say it runs off the same satellites as the ship uses. Has anyone ever used it? I’m wondering if it works very well as I’ve heard stories about connections being bad. I’m not paying for the ship’s package and thought this might be a good alternative.
  2. Has anyone stayed here? I'm looking for moderate priced hotels near the Pantheon.

  4. We have the Lancelot booked for next April but are thinking of trying to stay closer to the Pantheon. Has anyone stayed at the Little Queen Pantheon? Is the location that much better than the Lancelot?
  5. Thank you so much for the suggestions. I think we'll stay at the Antony per your suggestion. Our flight is at 11, but I'd rather be close to the airport in the morning. I see that there are many different types of rooms depending on what floor you're on. Some have a view of Venice. The first level is what they call their economy rooms and are less expensive and smaller. Which did you stay at? Do you think it matters for one night? I assume we'll go into Venice in the afternoon and play it by ear.
  6. Our cruise on the Celebrity Constellation will debark in Ravenna on May 3. We can't get a flight out until the next day, so we will need to spend the night in Venice. Would it be best to stay near the airport and make our way to the city mid afternoon or should we stay in the city? I don't want a super expensive hotel since we will be leaving early the next morning. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
  7. You're lucky if your cruise had deals. Mine didn't, except for the big dining package. I called Celebrity, and they confirmed there weren't any other deals.
  8. I've only seen the usual small percent discount for booking excursions in advance. Is there something else I missed?
  9. I am already booked for next year and was hoping there might be some deals on extras or excursions. The only thing I've seen is the same 75% off offer for the second person, nothing new. Have I missed anything?
  10. I'm trying to find a moderately priced hotel in Rome pre-cruise for three nights next April. I made reservations at each of these hotels and cannot decide which one is better, in service and location. Any suggestions? Many of the others listed in the hotel thread are already full, so I'm using Rick Steve's' book for ideas.
  11. In my previous post, I mentioned "dual voltage" outlets. What I meant was that the ships should have different plugs for each kind, US and European. I've already checked and they do. Sorry for the confusion in my wording.
  12. I'm a bit confused. Don't all ships have dual voltage outlets? I'll be on the Celebrity Constellation in Italy next year. I understand my flat iron won't work in the hotels, but shouldn't it work on the ship?
  13. How we would love it, but there is no way we could ever afford going this route. We do try to book small group excursions from private companies. For those whose budget can handle it, your way sounds fantastic. Enjoy! Susan
  14. We will probably fly into Rome a day or two early and stay one night in Venice.
  15. We will be doing the Best of Italy and Croatia on the Constellation next April 23. We only have one sea day, which is great, but I'm overwhelmed trying to figure out how to plan our excursions at each port. We usually don't do the ship excursions, and we try to book small tours which are cheaper and usually better for our needs. I'm afraid we will break the bank at each port, but I don't want to miss anything. I wonder how much we can do on our own and which ones we need to book a tour on. I'm excited but already in a panic! Is it best to take this question to another board or can someone here guide me how to begin? There are only a couple people in our roll call so it's not a good source of info yet. Thank you in advance.
  16. The only info I have is that the ETIAS program begins next year. Here's a link. https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en
  17. We made a decision! April 23 it is! Now to plan excursions. Thanks for all your input.
  18. We are trying to decide whether to do the April 23, 2024 or August 26, 2024 departure. I know the weather will be cooler in April. This will be the first sailing after the refurbishment is completed. The August one is risky as far as how hot it will be, but we can get an aft facing cabin that we love on that and not the April one. That's not a dealbreaker though. The cost is more for the August sailing, but it would give us more time to save. Any thoughts that would help us decide which one to choose?
