  1. Talking to our waiter when Cunard moved their country of registration one effect was that they were no longer required to pay the minimum UK wage rate and as such there was much unrest among the staff, especially the European ones!

  2. On one Cunard cruise we sat at dinner with a couple who had their cruise booked by their daughter as a present and who lived in the USA and booked it in the USA, while the couple lived in the UK. At embarkation they were held up for over an hour because they were not resident in the country where the booking had been made. Apparently they were going to be refused to sail but after much discussion and telephoning various places they were eventually allowed to board.

Would it really be worth the trouble to book in a non-resident country to maybe save a few pounds, I don't think so!

  3. Have been on cruises with P & O, Princess and a number with Cunard and can honestly say we have never seen a baby in the main restaurants. maybe they go to the self-service restaurants, have never dined in one of those in the evening. Have seen them in the self-services restaurants for breakfast and lunch.

Maybe this is not much help but enjoy your cruise, QV is great and we are joining her (again), at the end of July for a Med cruise.

  4. We are booked on QV cruise V411 and have been advised that we will no longer visit St Tropez but now will visit St Raphael. Our query is should we take an excursion to St Tropez or Cannes or stay in St Raphael? We do use a wheelchair.
