I felt the same here (on the Summit) Linda when a passenger went off on a Head Waiter when they weren’t sitting in “their spot”!  Their table was actually only one over and not in any special spot. AND the menu was identical! 😂😂

Linda, our itinerary on Celebrity Summit has been rearranged and Halifax cancelled. In Bar Harbor today and rain was so heavy we took the big shuttle (boat) to port, looked around at the pier and got back on shuttle to ship. Hot chocolate when back on board and having a lazy ship day. 😂😂

We checked in on the app, for our September 6th cruise on Serenade of the Seas about 2 weeks ago. We received no email prior to our check in, but did get one after confirming what we had done and that there’d be health questions to answer via the app the day before boarding.

We went on boat ride on the river to see crocs and birds. Saw a couple of LARGE crocs and many birds of a variety of sizes and colors.

Originally to go on train thru county, but it had been changed to see festival with many dancers. 

Both were long distances and we had left ship quite late. Sooooo - LATE return!

We were on the bus (excursion) that didn’t get back until nearly 6:30 pm. 

Glad it was  RCCL excursion!

Bus drove out on the pier, lined up with the ship’s entrance and we boarded ASAP.

We saw some incredible scenes of destruction from the major eruption earlier this year. Took out whole villages. 😢 

When returning to the ship the smoking volcano erupted! Photos of eruption on camera, but got these when back on the ship.

I thought they would've started putting up decorations by now. I've sailed directly after Thanksgiving before now and the tree's been up!

 

Any questions? I've asked for info from Guest Services with regards to the Art around the ship. Poor girl had a hard time getting her head around the fact that I didn't mean Park West. Have to say I'm so grateful they don't announce over the PA.

 

Casino has already paid out 2 Jackpots this trip. $20k and $40k. I spent my 3 complimentary gold coins and won nothing! It's not a large Casino. Always busy day and night. But the cigarette smoke!! 🤢

 

Formal night last night.....dining room was awash with glitter and glamour. Spotted a ball gown. Stunning.

Check in pretty slow. With over 600 D, D+& P members, the “priority line” moved like molasses on a cold day. 

Got to desk and the pre-loaded pics were gone, cc info was wrong and they had to reprint hubby’s card - lost. Card with OBC was incorrect amt. 

On to lunch - off to cabin. All’s well now! 😃

There are lots of threads about PR hotels and SPECULATION of who is open...who will be open...who is cancelling reservations due to FEMA, etc....so let's PLEASE keep this thread at "actual, factual" "reports" from folks who have actually visited the hotels in San Juan since October 1.

Thanks to all for your "factual reports". Future cruisers are appreciative!

We were originally booked at the San Juan Airport Hotel which cancelled both of our reservations 4 days prior to leaving for PR (12/01 and 12/16).

We had booked via Expedia and they found us a room for both dates at the Atlantic Beach Hotel.

We stayed there on 12/01 and are currently there now. Right now they have full power, a/c, TV and WiFi.

Not a hotel for everyone as it is quite old, with a clunky elevator, but clean rooms and very friendly staff. It has a nice lobby that opens almost right on a very nice beach.

No restaurant (too damaged) but many of different specialties close by, including an upscale restaurant next door.

CVS and Walgreens easy walk.

Done 3 crises the last year, Ovation, Brilliance and just on Explorer now.... I've noticed a huge increase in the taste and quality of the food in the Windjammer. Thoughts?

Definitely more choices and noticeable improvement.

We are also on Explorer now and have eaten all meals in WJ except one dinner at Giovanni's. I always find plenty to eat. Lots of choices... many ethnic choices if one decides to venture out. Also have never seen an entire "island" devoted to gluten free foods. DH has commented that the meats have been better as well.

On current cruise many have mentioned how tender all meet has been. Spoke to Executive Chef and he said they've really been working on it.
