  1. We had 14 days on Legend in June. JS 8036 had no pool deck noise (I think it was under the towel station), but the air conditioning was noisy. Sounded like a fan on full, but little airflow. Overall we had a great cruise. Ship is showing its age in some areas, but the public spaces were in pretty good shape. Crew were great. Being a smaller ship there is not the variety of venues of the larger ships, but what was there was good. Having read some reviews here I had set my expectations a little low, but was pleasantly surprised.

  2. Hi,

My wife and I are wanting to book 2 GTY cabins - 1 for us and 1 for our under 21 daughter and her similarly under 21 boyfriend.

The website does not permit cabins to be booked without an "adult" in the room.

We can book 1 adult and 1 "child" in each room via the website - if we go ahead and do that, can we, once on board, get the room assignments swapped, or maybe just additional room keys? Any advice appreciated.

Also we are travelling ex Australia so the "children" should be OK with alcoholic drinks as they are both over 18.

    Thanks

  3. We enjoyed the JS on Legend. We were in 8036 and I only heard noise from the pool deck on 1 day. I think we were below the towel station. My only criticism was the very noisy air conditioning - sounded like the fan was on full with very little output. Cabin attendant said there was nothing that could be done.

  4. Hi there Tara Jane - or anyone else with info.

We are also arriving on Legend of the Seas on 22 June, and have booked a car+driver to take us to Ubud for a day spa. I'm just wondering how easy it will be for us to locate our driver when we get off the tender (he will have a sign). I read some information that suggests drivers can't get into the port area to pick up visitors - any truth to that?

We are scheduled to arrive in Benoa at 0700, and are hoping to be picked up at 0830 - maybe ambitious but we'll see how we go...

    Any info appreciated.

  5. Hoopster95,

Thank you for the excellent review. We are travelling on Legend from Sydney to Singapore next month, and are looking forward to it.

From your review, we may find the overall experience a bit mixed; this is only our second cruise, having been on Liberty last year. But I am planning to deal with that by setting my expectations a little lower than we enjoyed last year - so hope I will be pleasantly surprised by the experience on Legend.

  6. On a 6 night cruise, you pay for 6 days. The day you disembark doesn't count.

Didn't work that way for us. We had a 7 night cruise on LOTS last year and had to pay for 8 days. Unfortunately the invoice was not itemised to indicate the number of days, so I had no way of challenging it once on board.

  7. Hi,

We are planning our first Celebrity cruise (May 2016) and would like to book Aqua Class. We are travelling with friends who will be in a Oceanview cabin. We would like to eat with them many, if not most nights, but would also like to use the Blu restaurant a few times as well (the default for Aqua).

I have been researching this and the responses seem mixed (as well as a little dated in some cases).

Does anyone have any recent experience of doing this? Would we have more luck if our friends chose Select instead of Traditional dining (as their seating allocations will be more flexible)?

    Thanks

  8. We loved having the premium drinks package on our 7 night Mediterranean cruise on Liberty of the Seas. Service was great with no suggestion of having to tip extra. My only compliant was that we were charged for 8 days, when the last day had us off the ship first thing so in effect we were charged a day but got nothing for it. Didn't seem to have a choice though when ordering it on line beforehand.

  9. Hi there,

Coming from Australia and therefore unwise in the protocols of tipping - and soon to embark on our first cruise to boot....

We have prepaid tips in our fare and will also be prepaying for a drinks package (tips included ). Is it expected that we should tip any more? Either to assure a decent service, or to not insult or appear 'cheap'? I'm happy to tip if needed or if I feel so inclined, but equally don't feel inclined to hand over my cash if I don't have to.

It would be so less confusing if staff were paid a fair wage straight up, but I accept that is not the way it is done in the service industry in some parts of the world (or on ships).
