We paid $24pp on Legend after doing a free "food tour" which gave us a 20% discount on the normal $30pp rate. $39pp sounds a bit steep to me.

A recent Platinum member here. We recently booked another cruise and a discount was applied to the booking, but it also removed $USD100 OBC that was available if we didn't quote out C&A number. Actually worse off by a few dollars with the discount given the AUD/USD exchange rate.

We had 14 days on Legend in June. JS 8036 had no pool deck noise (I think it was under the towel station), but the air conditioning was noisy. Sounded like a fan on full, but little airflow. Overall we had a great cruise. Ship is showing its age in some areas, but the public spaces were in pretty good shape. Crew were great. Being a smaller ship there is not the variety of venues of the larger ships, but what was there was good. Having read some reviews here I had set my expectations a little low, but was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks - I have since spoken with our travel agent, and they do this all the time. We'll just have to sort it out on board.

Hi,
My wife and I are wanting to book 2 GTY cabins - 1 for us and 1 for our under 21 daughter and her similarly under 21 boyfriend.
The website does not permit cabins to be booked without an "adult" in the room.
We can book 1 adult and 1 "child" in each room via the website - if we go ahead and do that, can we, once on board, get the room assignments swapped, or maybe just additional room keys? Any advice appreciated.
Also we are travelling ex Australia so the "children" should be OK with alcoholic drinks as they are both over 18.
Thanks

We enjoyed the JS on Legend. We were in 8036 and I only heard noise from the pool deck on 1 day. I think we were below the towel station. My only criticism was the very noisy air conditioning - sounded like the fan was on full with very little output. Cabin attendant said there was nothing that could be done.

Hi there Tara Jane - or anyone else with info.
We are also arriving on Legend of the Seas on 22 June, and have booked a car+driver to take us to Ubud for a day spa. I'm just wondering how easy it will be for us to locate our driver when we get off the tender (he will have a sign). I read some information that suggests drivers can't get into the port area to pick up visitors - any truth to that?
We are scheduled to arrive in Benoa at 0700, and are hoping to be picked up at 0830 - maybe ambitious but we'll see how we go...
Any info appreciated.

This is all good news for us. We are on Legend in a few days and booked in a JS.

Not always. We were on a 7 night cruise in Liberty last year (Mediterranean) and were charged for 8 days. Difficult to get value on the last day....

From memory it is marked as 333m - and nice being 2 lanes wide. I enjoyed it in the mornings - I found a spot to store a water bottle near the aft doors so I could have a sip every few laps. Though I didn't do 10 miles, let alone 18!!

Hoopster95,
Thank you for the excellent review. We are travelling on Legend from Sydney to Singapore next month, and are looking forward to it.
From your review, we may find the overall experience a bit mixed; this is only our second cruise, having been on Liberty last year. But I am planning to deal with that by setting my expectations a little lower than we enjoyed last year - so hope I will be pleasantly surprised by the experience on Legend.

On a 6 night cruise, you pay for 6 days. The day you disembark doesn't count.
Didn't work that way for us. We had a 7 night cruise on LOTS last year and had to pay for 8 days. Unfortunately the invoice was not itemised to indicate the number of days, so I had no way of challenging it once on board.

Looking forward to lots of info - we are on Legend from 11 June from SYD to SIN.:)

We have ended up booking Concierge Class - just to take away any risk. Not sure it was the best idea, but there you go (only $5.00 pppd difference between AQ2 and CC2)
Now just to link our bookings so we sit together!!

Thanks all for the information. Seems that provided our friends have booked the Select dining option, we "should" be OK to eat in the MDR.
(I also sent a Facebook message to Celebrity Cruises, but so far nothing back - I'll post here if I hear anything)

Hi,
We are planning our first Celebrity cruise (May 2016) and would like to book Aqua Class. We are travelling with friends who will be in a Oceanview cabin. We would like to eat with them many, if not most nights, but would also like to use the Blu restaurant a few times as well (the default for Aqua).
I have been researching this and the responses seem mixed (as well as a little dated in some cases).
Does anyone have any recent experience of doing this? Would we have more luck if our friends chose Select instead of Traditional dining (as their seating allocations will be more flexible)?
Thanks

It was definitely charged for 8 days when using the online booking tool. Unfortunately the receipt did not itemise it as such so I didn't take it up with guest services on board.

We loved having the premium drinks package on our 7 night Mediterranean cruise on Liberty of the Seas. Service was great with no suggestion of having to tip extra. My only compliant was that we were charged for 8 days, when the last day had us off the ship first thing so in effect we were charged a day but got nothing for it. Didn't seem to have a choice though when ordering it on line beforehand.

Hi there,
Coming from Australia and therefore unwise in the protocols of tipping - and soon to embark on our first cruise to boot....
We have prepaid tips in our fare and will also be prepaying for a drinks package (tips included ). Is it expected that we should tip any more? Either to assure a decent service, or to not insult or appear 'cheap'? I'm happy to tip if needed or if I feel so inclined, but equally don't feel inclined to hand over my cash if I don't have to.
It would be so less confusing if staff were paid a fair wage straight up, but I accept that is not the way it is done in the service industry in some parts of the world (or on ships).

Legend of the Seas JS 8544
in Royal Caribbean International

Hi,
I think 8544 is under the Concierge Club. It might be just verging on the Solarium area, but I would not expect too much noise from that part of the Solarium if that is the case.
Enjoy the JS - we did!!
