Hi all! We'll be taking a cruise on NCL in June. It's our first time doing NCL in a long time, and I'm a little confused about how the dining package works. When we booked, we got a 1 meal Specialty Dining Package included. I was charged an extra $20 for gratuities along with the cruise fare, fees, etc.
I was just talking to a friend who cruised NCL more recently and she told me that when they went to Cagney's they were charged an additional $75 for tax/gratuity even though they had the package. Is that the case? If that's true, what is the $20 for? I wasn't expecting to pay anything additional, so if I need to I want to be prepared for that.
Any info about how it all works is appreciated!

Thanks for the replies. At this point, flights and hotels are booked so cancelling the trip isn’t something we want to do.
To add insult to injury, looking at available cabins, I noticed the price has gone down by close to $200. I don’t think I have price protection, although I’m not sure. How do you see that in the cruise manager?

Hi all! I’m booked on the Pride to Norway this summer a few weeks after the dry dock (June 30). I guess they plan to renovate rooms because I just got an email from Carnival that they are changing the capacity of our 4 person room to 3. We were in 6232 which was a “bowling alley” extended balcony and the availability of this cabin was the reason I chose this sailing over the alternative dates. They put us in a cabin on a higher deck that’s nothing special and offered us no choice or compensation. I am NOT happy. My preferred cabin out of what is left is a downgrade (deck 5) from what we had which means I overpaid if I take it.
I’ll be calling soon to see what I can do.What would you do? What can I reasonably request under these circumstances?

I downloaded the AllState app using a link from the beginning of this thread (about DriveWise). I created an account.
There is nothing on this app about DriveWise, rewards, or spots to put codes.
Did I download the wrong app? When I Google "Drivewise Rewards," that page also sends me to download the same app I have.
My app options:
Digital Safety
>All State ID Protection
>Digital Footprint
>Breach Checker
More from All State
>Allstate ID Protection
>Allstate Phone Protection Plus
>Get a Quote

I downloaded it on an old Apple phone, if that makes a difference. Do I have the wrong thing?
I just installed it on my iPhone today and I couldn't find a place to put codes either. I ended up going to the website on my computer: https://allstaterewards.com/. You'll see the place to put the codes at the very top.

I was thinking of getting a massage anyway since I have 4 sea days. So at least I got that! Thanks OP for posting. 🙂 Just wish I thought to log into Mom's account last night!

Well the plot thickens!
Last night I tried for my June 25th cruise on the Legend and the code didn't work at all. I logged in as me and my husband in multiple browsers, computers/devices. Nothin.
Today I decided to log into my mother's account. She's traveled with us before but is NOT traveling with us on this trip. The code actually works for her to buy things for us! However, it is only working on spa items and nothing else.

Is it for cruises for more than 8 days?
Mine is 8 days and it didn't work.

I just tried for my cruise on June 25 and it's not working for me. 😞 Says "This promo code is not valid."

I called a few days ago and asked them to move my final payment date (today) for my June 19th cruise and they said no. I asked about rebooking with the new Early Saver deal, but it would have cost me hundreds more for the same cabin, so I opted not to do that. I guess I didn't ask the right person!!! Maybe I should have gotten a PVP?
Oh well. The charges hit my card this morning. Fingers crossed we can cruise in June!

Legend is a ‘tier I ship’ build in 2001 - technically she should be able to sail the fjords through 2021.
That's good news! Thanks!

We are booked on the Carnival Legend in June 2020. So far, we still have the ports of Geiranger and Hellesylt listed. I hope we can still do it! I guess Carnival isn’t exactly known for being environmentally friendly. Any thoughts about the Legend being allowed to sail Geirangerfjord?

Thanks for the info! I feel bad that they missed a port, but relieved that they will get ahead of the storm.

I've been keeping an eye on TS Arthur and the Grandeur today since we are supposed to board from Baltimore on Friday to go to Bermuda! Would I be correct in thinking that the Grandeur is on its way back ahead of schedule? This is what I'm looking at:

Trying to be optimistic... any chance the ship would leave earlier? :)

I think we might be on the same cruise - Grandeur to Bermuda? I'm getting a bit nervous about the forecast, too. I guess all we can do is cross our fingers!
Does anyone know what RCCL does in such a situation? Would our departure time be changed or would it get cancelled?

Thanks, everyone! I feel a lot better now. What you are saying makes total sense and is how I thought it was before I talked to my friend. That receipt is very helpful, thanks, @BirdTravels!
She must be remembering it wrong. It didn't make sense that two of them would eat for that cost - too high for gratuities and too low for out of pocket. Maybe they ordered an extra entree or something like that and didn't know it.
