I am also taking my kids on a surprise cruise next year. I chose Royal Caribbean for the selection of activitirs. Dependingon which ship, in addition to the usual shows & games, there is also rock climbing, flow rider, ice skating, bumper cars and kids clubs. We have two inside connected cabins but suites or connecred balconies are also an option. Your hotspot will only work if you purchase the internet package on the ship...it isn't cheap.
Have a great trip!

I got the offer, checked the terms very carefully and still was surprised. The interest rate was MUCH higher than expected and according to the booklet I received with the card, the OBC was only good on Celebrity cruises unless you spent $3000 or more. When I called, the girl said they had raised the interest rate and verified the $75 OBC would not be able to be used on the IOS cruise I have booked for next October.
I cancelled the account rather than activate.

Depending on what week in February you are cruising, the reason early dining may have filled up early & no longer has a waitlist could possibly be due to the mid-winter break many schools now take in February. Our spring break has been split into one week in February & one in April. Many families with children may be cruising and want the early seating in the MDR. Just a thought.
Enjoy your cruise!

While the islands can handle it, I prefer to know so I can make the best decisions for my vacation. For instance, we will be going to St. Maarten next year and there will be five ships in port. Knowing that, I won't bother with Maho Beach as it will be standing room only. In addition, I will be sure to reserve our private tour well in advance as there will be a lot of competition looking for tours.

First cruise was October 12, 1985 Carnival Holiday. It was the newest ship at the time. I had an inside cabin on deck two (tiny cabin with bunk beds) and the cost was $795 INCLUDING airfare!! I remember it fondly!

I frquently travel to Philadelphia on business and have never been on a flight that takes off on time, if at all. Don't risk it. Fly in the day before.

I'm late to this party but I'm glad it was pushed to the top so I would discover it! Next fall I will be taking my three daughters on their first ever and my first in 30 years cruise. We won't be going on Allure (Indy) but I may be considering it for our next after reading your review.
Your writing style is wonderful and kept me engaged! I'm glad you had such a great experience and I think you for bringing us all along!

You know....Woodyren.. I do believe your on to something here. But I am going to opt for the Superband!
IT has even more options to ensure I have a great holiday.
--The band emits a signal that will bring my ship board account to zero every time I walk past the Purser's desk.
--The band emits a very uncomfortable dog whistle type sound that only seat savers and pool chair hogs can hear.
--Rude people will hear this too... but louder!
-- D+ and above that talk too much and other braggarts and other blow hearts will be silenced within 10 feet of the band wearer.
--Rude and pushy cruisers who rush the elevators will be backed out by a force emitted from the wrist band.
The use of wrist bands is getting more attractive!
I hope these are available when I set sail next October in Indy! That will guarantee us a great vacation

From what I read yesterday, at this point the magic bands are going to be on the new Smart Ships. While they will likely eventually be added to other ships, that would be a huge undertaking that may likely take more than a two week dry dock to install.

I would not say there won't be that many kids on board. It gets pretty cold up here in the North, sometimes thru May so we are looking for a warm break. Our breaks are different than southern and western school breaks. In NY, our kids don't start school until after Labor day and go to school until the end of June. Our 2015 spring break is the week of April 6. They don't necessarily work our break around Easter anymore. We usually have our break the first or second week of April.

Once again, thank you for sharing your holiday with us. While I will not be traveling on Indy until October 2015, it has been a joy to travel along with you and your family. It would be wonderful to see more pictures and read your wrap up.
Safe travels home.

I wandered across your posts this weekend as I was looking for information regarding my recently booked cruise on Indy (Caribbean - October 2015).
I feel as though I am traveling with you and I am thoroughly enjoying the holiday! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. You have an amazing way of writing that brings the reader along with you.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday. I look forward to continuing the journey with you.:)

I called today to see if I could get a better rate or upgrade to an outside for the cruise I booked during the bogoho. When I questioned why the rates were higher, MUCH higher, the rep said, "The discount is off TODAY'S prevailing rate". So they significantly increased the rates then offered a sale...or three. The sale does include outside and balcony as well as suites but is no deal compared to the bogoho.
IOS Interior Room with 3rd & 4th pullman - pics?

I'm trying to get a better idea of the space on the pullman beds in an interior cabin. We have adjoining interior cabins booked, a quad (two pullmans) and a double, for six of us. We booked during the original BOGOHO and attempted to find a suite or adjoining balconies, or even three interiors for relatively the same cost but it was not to be. My girls are small and love to climb but I'd like to get an idea of how much space is actually in one of the pullman beds. Does anyone have pictures of someone actually in a pullman so I can get an idea? We are still a year out so I continue to look at other options as sales come and go. I would like to be prepared if we end up in the rooms we booked.
We are on deck 10 (a good spot for an interior as we are surrounded by suites) mid ship.
