  1. You could pay for your cheers with a credit card. Then when you get on the ship, have your gift cards credited to your on board account. Then go to the casino and cash out and use the cash to pay your credit card bill. :D

Can someone verify that this will work? I'm already ticked off that I went and got these Cards, $800 worth and was then told I can't use them to purchase the Cheers program pre-cruise despite it not saying anything about this anywhere I can find. That was the whole goal. Once on the ship it goes up around 5 bucks per day per person.

  2. Sorry if this is often asked but I looked through the first 5 pages of topics and didn't see anything.

Do you need the special temporary drivers permit that I've read about, to rent one or is that just for cars and Jeeps and such?

    And B.

Do you recommend renting one? My goal is to get away from the big crowds, take a nice ride over and up to Rum/Starfish Point and just be able to stop wherever I want along the way to sight see, take pictures and mess around. We will be in port from 7a-4p.

I also considered taking a water taxi over but can't seem to find any concrete information on that either.

    Thanks!

  3. Lol, I'm the only person you did thank as I was the only one to answer your question.

I'm not snotty just factual. Everyone can see that you have yet to come up with any actual reason as to why your behavior is ok. When I supply facts you seem to think that insulting me will convince people that you're right. Good luck with that.

    1. You weren't the only person but judging by your attitude, its easy to see why you think you are.

    2. I'm not trying to justify my reason. I couldn't care less what you or anyone else thinks about me handing my lady a drink or two that I've paid more than enough for.

    3. I'm also not trying to convince anyone of anything. I asked a simple question. "Will I be able to?". The answer is yes and you can look down your nose at me all you'd like, I do not care. I'm 100% sure you don't bend the rules, ever, on anything.

    Sorry I asked, honestly.

  4. or waste the time of the good people on these boards who patiently answer questions with your bull$*#t excuses.

Aside from you, I'd agree. I sure hope most of the people on the cruise I'm traveling on won't be as snotty as you are. I guess I'll share a drink or two that I paid for and deal with damnation to hell later. Seriously, don't even bother "patiently" answering my question any further. I thanked the other people who answered politely without a lame attempt at a morality debate over a few damn drinks.

  5. Then don't buy it, really. Just get drinks as you go. There is no point to giving them your money for something you won't get the value out of.

Edited to add: regardless of whether you think the drinks are overpriced - if you get the package you have agreed, as a competent adult, to a contract which says only you can consume those drinks. So yes it is cheating the system to give one to her. If you think these terms aren't great I reiterate don't get the package. You don't have to, you can just purchase individual drinks for both of you.

So snarky, lol. I wonder if you've ever bought a coke at a restaurant or an event and taken a sip and given the rest to your significant other. Such a cheat!

  6. I think if you can afford to cruise, you can afford to buy your wife a drink here and there. I don't understand people who want to cheat the system. if you can't afford to pay for a drink here and there, then maybe this cruise is not the vacation for you. There are cheaper all-inclusive resorts that you might enjoy more.

Oh, I can afford it. I don't consider handing my fiancé a drink or two that costs 3x what the drink should reasonably cost and I'm paying for it regardless - "cheating the system". She tends to be very picky so if I am paying 10 for a mixed drink that she's likely going to take one drink out of and decide she doesn't like it, no, I wouldn't feel bad about ordering that same cocktail on my drink pass (which I probably wont come out on even either) and handing it to her. It's not like the drinks are free. I'm paying for them one way or another. Is it really any different than if I order the drink and don't like it and leave it sit there and she takes a sip of it?

Thank you others, for your non-judgemental replies.

  7. I just did the Lamanai and speed boat tour. It is about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from the port, plus an hour boat ride to the ruins. Most of the time spent at the ruins was for climbing them and learning about them. There is a nice open area, but make sure you have bug spray. Most of the people on my bus slept on the ride back. In our group, I think the youngest people were 2 preteens.

The bus ride, are there interesting things to see during or is it mostly just jungle/forest?
