Carol,
We are driving in on I-80 from Ohio and was thinking of staying at a Hyatt House in Parsippany, NJ. We are on the Liberty 10/3/15 cruise. Curious on a couple things: 1) I have Hyatt points, so is their a better Hyatt to stay at that is closer or maybe less hassle? 2) Any cheaper options I should consider for parking at Cape Liberty port?
Thank you in advance!

So if you have 100 players and you all go in partners you all win $100.
Sure that could be arranged, but I find that most people are not willing to settle with only $100 or $200 when they have a chance to win many thousands...

Note: This isn't referring to the regular slot tournaments usually offered on cruises where you can potentially win a cruise or a few hundred dollars. This thread is about those slot tournaments where $10,000, $25,000, or even $100,000 may be offered.
I'm going to be sailing on Liberty of the Seas in October. On this sailing, Club Royale (Royal Caribbean's casino program) is offering a $10,000 slot tournament for invited guests. This is my first time participating in such a tournament, and I'd like to learn more about it.
I did try phoning Club Royale and asking them, but they didn't have any specific information available. I was curious about the prize structure (is it just one $10,000 grand prize, etc.). I'm also curious how many participants there may be, and assuming that there's a fair number, how do they organize the tournament.
So, I figured I'd ask here since others here may have previously been involved in a cruise line's special slot tournament.
If you've been in a cruise line's big money slot tournament, how did it go for you?
My wife and I have done a few of them from Club Royale... For the $10K, usually it is $5K, $3K, and $2K... For the $15K it is usually $10K, $3K, $2K... # of participants is as many as they get to show up, we have seen them as small as 28 people, and as large as 120+... Usually it is 2 rounds then finals, round #1 starts on the first sea day...
We got a sheet in the stateroom telling all the rules and such... My wife has done well on them, I do horrible... Think I took 28th place out of 28...

My wife won $10k on freedom. Same cruise saw a guy hit $28k on the high limit machines
Both paid in cash, to my knowledge only thing not paid in cash in casino is lotto jackpot (all 5 numbers).

Don't suppose the host told you what rebate amount you qualified for while on allure did he/she? That would help me make that decision of accepting the 'free' cruise or not

So, am I understanding this correctly that instead of rebates being earned that club Royale members are only currently being offered 'free' cruises and not rebates to be used until March 2016? Please tell me I'm wrong and misread.

Seems to be different on different ships to qualify for being rated and join club Royale. For me two years ago I was averaging $40 hand in the card games (not just blackjack) for many hours each day.

The folks at the Casino Royal phone line will know. We always check with them before we go to see who our host will be. They currently have the schedule through July 2015.
We love Bryan who was our host on Freedom last time!
Yeah, I ask everytime I call they usually tell me they don't know. Just figured I'd ask here as well. Eventually I'll find out.

Curious if anyone knows what ship 'Vivian' Casino Host is on these days... She was our favorite!

I'm pretty sure it was fixed last week in st. Maarten. We had dinner in chops that evening and sat next to the folks that fixed it. Vibration was annoying and never felt it after Thursday.

I also enjoy 3 Card Poker... The absolute minimum bet you can make and play the hand is playing Pair Plus for only $5... To play Ante + Blind, those are also $5 minimum each... On the Freedom class ships, they have the 6 Card Bonus bet also with a $5 minimum.

Also---do they have 3-card poker?
Yes they have qty 2, 3-card poker tables one in smoking section and one not.
I can also say the video poker was hot on my cruise Nov 2014, As I saw atleast 4 machines hit royal flushes... 2 were for the quarter progressive, but one was for the max ($20K)...

The only ship we were on where they still had REAL slot machines where one fed the quarters in and listened to the quarters drop in the tray was the Monarch of the Seas. But, of course that ship was sold.
Majesty of the Seas last year in September was 90% quarters (paid in coins with buckets) and a few dollar/penny machines (10%) that had the tickets...

Lol, It's a small world! There will be four of us in our group of my immediate family on the cruise... However, we are joining a large group of casino / golf folks on this cruise... Should be fun!
