  1. Cruise would be $1200 per person for a balcony room for 8 nights. I figure that isnt all terrible.. But I am now thinking it may be too long or too much for some.. Not looking for 15 people to make it.. Would rather have my best 6-8 friends make it.

LDL would do that, but loves to cruise. No boss either to negotiate the time off. For some this vacation might be their only one for the year. Twelve hundo plus air might be too much for some, especially if they don't know the magic of the lido.

  2. Great idea, bro. As for the cruise itself consider the budgets and time constraints of the people you want to show up. Not everyone cruises or wants to cruise. All your guests may not be able to afford the cruise or the time away from work. LDL would err on the conservative side and would rather have more friends make it for a shorter cruise. More people, better party. But that's how LDL rolls.

    :D

  3. The reason why people may tell you to would avoid the train from SC to Orlando is because you would be getting on a long distance train that originates in New York. The trains to Florida can run very late since Amtrak doesn't own the tracks on which the train travels south of Washington DC. Freight companies own the tracks, so their trains can cause delays for passenger trains. If you just build enough buffer room built into your schedule, the train will be fine. Just make sure your group is aware of the potential for delays. It is a fantastic way to travel though.

  4. Hey Mr Banana,

I'd ignore these people telling you not to invite your friends. Only you know them and their sensibilities. How easily are they offended, and how do they roll with the punches?

Will one drunk dude be completely off putting, or are they used to going to pretty much anywhere alcohol is served.. baseball games, the county fair, LDL's family reunions, etc. and seeing a couple of intoxicated people? If they can't, then maybe Carnival isn't for them. Or heck anything in the Caribbean for that matter.

If they aren't easily offended, use your head and give them the facts you already know. This cruise you're going on is probably not going to be spring break in Cancun. But I think you already knew that. :-D

Answer how easily they're offended, and you already know what to do.
