It's certainly possible. I relied on the "1 year later..." notification above the OPs message. The numbers I quoted are from June 29, 2023 to June 28, 2024.

CCL has lost 59.8% of its value in the past five years, a period in which the broad market (S&P 500) advanced 85.6%.

Say someone had invested $4655 in June of 2019 (just enough to get the shareholder benefit):

    CCL investor today has $1871

    S & P 500 investor has  $8640

I'm glad that it worked out for you.

Not sure what 2019 has to do with my post.

CCL is up 9.09% in the past year. I'm not sure how your stock is worth double what you paid for it. (BTW, Fidelity 5982 is up 54.9%, Costco is up 59.9%, and chipmaker Nvidia is up 202.6% in the same time period. The S & P 500 is up 24.2%, for those who don't even want to pick stocks.)

I'm happy if you're happy. But I hope your OBC was enough to offset the capital appreciation you missed.

I paid $9.61 a share when I bought the stock. The stock is now worth $18.72 a share.

There is no problem with eating healthy on board.  Menu items are clearly marked as health concious picks, gluten free, vegetarian, etc.  Bourbon has a high sugar content and beer is full of carbs.  just sayin 😁

Bourbon has no carbs/sugar. Miller lite has 3.2 carbs and 96 calories.

  4. I am the the original poster in this thread. I bought 100 shares shortly after making this thread. I will make my original investment back in OBC in 2025. I didn't buy the stock in order to play the market, but for the OBC. My stock is roughly worth double what I paid for it. It's a win win. Even if the stock should bottom out at some future point, I will be ahead.

Just wanted to give an overview of how it turned out in case anyone else was interested.

Did you ask for a supervisor? What proof did you have of the previous cruises?

No, I didn't ask for a supervisor, but I will call back and do that. I have the booking numbers and dates of the cruises he was on. The lady on the phone wanted the folio numbers, which I don't have.

Sincere question, what does it matter? You are Platinum and he gets to enjoy the same priority embarkation, debarkation, water shuttles, dining times, etc, that your status gets you.

it is possible we may not always cruise together. It matters to me because it matters to him. He should be platinum on his next cruise as well. He feels he is entitled to it, and he is.

Since you are platinum,  you both get those benefits. As long as he boards with you, he gets on with the platinum. You get 3 laundry bags per cruise 7 days, that's more than enough for 2 people. He can come to D/P party with you as a guest. He won't get the gift or the pin of course. But I would say to fix it, give Carnival a call and if the person can't fix it ask for a supervisor. Also , as someone else mentioned,  check the emails or paper work from his previous bookings. It's very likely the system gave him a new VIFP number and they just need to merge the two accounts.

Yes, we know all this. We have called several times to no avail. Thank you

  8. On the last cruise my husband and I took, I was platinum and his card was Red. His should have been gold. His account is missing nine cruises and we have been unable to get this fixed. We have talked to customer service numerous times. We have also sent in the information through the website's missing cruises link. All to no avail.

I would like to plan another cruise, but my husband is so disgusted that he refuses. If Carnival had this correct, he would also be Platinum on an upcoming cruise.

Does anyone know of another course of action we can take? Thank You.

  9. On our Magic cruise in February our waiting times were 40 - 50 minutes each time. We usually checked in around 6 - 7 pm.

I liked it better before the app for two reasons. 1. I don't want to deal with a phone on a cruise.     2. Before the app we would just walk up and request a table and never had to wait more than 10 minutes.

  10. We will be returning from a cruise out of NO on Aug 31. Our flight out of NO is not until 5pm. We do not want to sit in the airport for hours.

Does anyone know of any tours in NO that will allow you to take your bags?

Even better, does anyone know of a service that will take your bags to the airport for you?
