  1. Recently back from a Holland America cruise. We have contacted guest services to see if they can provide us with a power strip, they had one delivered to our cabin. Does anyone know if Princess can provide power strips upon request?

We always bring our own they are inexpensive and can be brought as a cord or just a plug to plug in they take up little or no room in luggage we just returned from a Disney Cruise and they do not ferment power strips

    enjoy your cruise

The only big Negative was the noise level in the dinning room and it is vary crowded

I would not take a Disney cruise if it weren’t for my grand kids Gab 2 ½ & Spencer 4 ½ (I do think Gab was a little to young)

Adults only pool also adults only lounge after 9:00pm

I was surprised to see how many repeat Cruisers where on the ship and how many with out kids

Disney dose know how to put things together

  4. We just returned from a week on the Fantasy

Arrived day b/4 cruise (there where 7 of us)

Stayed at Embassy suites Orlando Airport the have free Shuttle from Airport to Hotel and include made to order breakfast in the morning We booked Mears Transportation to take all of us from hotel to ship and return us from ship to Airport on return

  5. We are starting to plan a family cruise for 2015 on the Dream. What is the biggest table in the dining room? We have a party of 11 and would love for everyone to be able to sit together!

They will accommodate you all at the same table We just got off the Fantasy and was a party of 7 next to us was at least a party of 20

enjoy your cruise If possible consider a longer cruise the 7 day we where on went so fast b/4 you knew it it was over

  6. We will be leaving this week end on the Fantasy Total of 7 of us We have bean to St Thomas Many times

    Nothing to get exited about

We chose this trip mostly to enjoy the the ship with our 2 Grand Kids ages 2 1/2 & 4 1/2

The ship will be less crowded when it is in Port

When in St. Thomas My Wife and Doughtier will get off to do some shoping

  7. On an upcoming cruise I need to be able to at least if possible keep in touch with work by text messages. Don't need to talk. Is it possible to receive texts while at sea? I have an I phone. How do I set my phone so I only receive texts and not phone calls? I read something about texts costing .50 cents.

    Thanks

Enjoy your Cruise and Leave work at home If they can not get along without you than don't go

  8. DH has very recently stopped taking his tuxedo with him. Every year less and less men seem to be wearing them. He takes a navy blue sports coat.

    LuLu

This is what we have discovered

Formal night used to be the night to dress up

Today with the ships so large You see every thing from levies with holes to tux

If the ship is to have formal night they should enforce the rules and have restrictions of where you can go on the ship without a jacket and tie

We have bean to Mackinac Island in Michigan and at the Grand Hotel after 5:30 PM you had to have coat & tie to be in any Public Place even on the large Porch

  9. Thanks for the comparison We are long time Princess Cruisers and have seen Princess go down hill

We are booked on the Disney Fantasy July 26 the in Concierge one bedroom suite Cant wait

We did book another Princess Cruise in January 2016 as we had no choice we wonted to start and finish in LA b/4 or after January 19th as it will be my sons 50 birthday

    NEXT Princess Cruise

    January 8, 2016 Mexico

  11. Both sides sign up for Viber there is no charge if both party's have Viber on there phones

sender and receiver We used it on the river boats in Europe it is slow but it worked

I was able to call Dayton, Ohio Cleveland, Ohio, Los Angeles Ca. and had no trouble

load the app in both phones an try it here and then use it in Europe Yu will not be able to use ia out to sea as there are no towers

  12. None. What worked best for us was to carry our camera and have the character attendant or the mom take the photos. If there happened to be one or two we wanted to buy' date=' so be it.

On the other hand, if I wanted a ton of photos, I'd get the CD with or without the prints (can print them at home.)[/quote']

By the time you by photo paper and ink to print your pictures you are best to buy the complete package and have all the prints plus the cd that way you will have all the pictures I still will bring my camera For a hand full of pictures not taken

  13. We are booked on our first cruise on princess since the 1990's. What changes can we expect?

Do they still have the little miniature desserts?

I can't remember much of anything else, but I do remember them

    Thanks for the replies.

    Helen

Our first cruise was in 1989 on the old Pacific Princess (The real Love Boat)

This is when they really took care of you Dinner was fantastic the prepared food at your table Fresh Vegies served to your plate & Posta When your entry came that is all that was on your plate All over the ship you where waited on although it may not be as glitzy you felt like the rich and famous (Formal night was a true Formal night) We always compare to our first cruise and there is no Comparison You are not nickel & dimed as you are now every thing was first class no mater what category cabin you had

We try to cruise at least once a year

The only thing we have found close to the service on our first cruise are the river Boats in Europe We are Elite level with Princess Our next cruise will be Mexico on the Crown January 2016

  14. I would love to get feedback as to which side of the ship is best for port viewing on a full transit of the Panama Canal. I know some of the ports are tendered but, at the others, which side faces land? We are going from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale in late October.

Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated -- even to excursions or not-to-miss shops.

    Thanks a bunch!! SilverBird

We did the canal three years ago on the older Celebrity Mercury We had a cabin all the way forward facing forward with a large picture window and could see everything

The only down fall was in the daytime if the curtains where not closed the room got Hot

  15. Not to be missed.

Basically you get a very wide selection of food, all served at your table.

    Coffee is fine

You also get mimosa or alternative if you ask.

You will only need to identify yourself on the first day, and probably not even that if you take the complimentary first night dinner in the restaurant as they will remember you.

After a couple of days, the staff will remember what you normally have and it becomes a very pleasant and relaxed way to start the day

The staff are very keen to please and if they think something they have may be to your taste they will make sure you know it is available.

Enjoy. It is a very nice perk and IMHO definitely better than taking breakfast on the balcony

The biggest problem is not eating a bigger breakfast than you intended

Can I order stake & egs

  16. We are in a suite for the first time next cruise. It is a B2B but it was advertised and booked as a single cruise, making it a 9 night cruise. Would that mean we could take advantage of the complimentary meal at the Crown Grill the first night as our cruise length is over the 6 nights, or would the answer be no as they are actually a 4 and a 5 night cruises in their eyes?

Really looking forward to this cruise.

We have booked the owners suite on the crown January 2016 And where told first night complimentary dinner in in Sabatini's Also Breakfasts every morning

  17. Has anyone read this?

    http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=255237

We are considering taking our large extended family on a holiday cruise on the Fantasy . We will have one 2 1/2 year old and i found this review frightening.

Also, she says there are 6 children for each caregiver.

In a nursery that charges an extra $9/hr./child I would expect a 2 to 1 ratio at the most.

Any comment from people with different experiences with the under 3 nursery on the Fantasy?

I am sure your 2 1/2 year old will have a lot fun in the nursery I have read this revive and this person found something wrong with everything

We will be booked on the fantasy July 26 with a 2 1/2 year in our party We have booked three sea days in the nursery 9 to 12 AM If we are not happy we can cancel the last two days

from what I understand they have so much fun you can not get them out of there
