  1. If you stay at Orlando at night you don't need two transports (most hotels have a free shuttle - we typically use the Embassy Suites). All depends on what time you are arriving I suppose.

We used Happy Limo for our WDW to Port transfer (actually we used them for all transfers) and were very happy with them. A town car would fit 3 people fine.

We also will be using the Embassy Suites the day b/4 our cruise with free shuttle from the Airport to the Embassy we than have Mears Transportation picking us up for transfer to the ship after Breakfast

  2. Hello

So many choices for transfers from MCO to PC.....maybe the Magic bus is the best way. I understand they collect the bags from the baggage claim and put them on the bus and you next see them at your stateroom.

Has anyone ever experienced any problems with luggage not making it to the ship? Are they dependable? Will I be able to see my bags on the carousel and then put onto the bus? What is the setup at MCO...kiosk at he terminal...on your own to find the bus...?

Having been without clothing due to missing bags more than once' date=' I need reassurance.

If you have used this service, please share, I really appreciate it.:o

    We have lost bags b/4

I would claim your bags @ the carousel in Orlando

That way you know that your bags got there

  3. I am very excited. We booked two connecting concierge cabins (one family and 1-bdrm).

We have been on the Dream 3 times and this is the first time booking on the concierge deck. It's six of us, including twin 14-year old girls that are super divas!

    Can't wait to sail!

We have booked the same on the Fantasy In July Eastern ( two connecting concierge cabins (one family and 1-bdrm).

  5. Just to put in perspective--you got your hotel free using your points' date=' so you are paying for transportation to the port only. $441 for 7 people. You didn't note if that includes a tip for the driver, and it doesn't include the tips for the porters who will handle your luggage at the drop off.

The most fair comparison would be DCL transfers at $70 per person round trip-including your luggage handling by the porters. While there is a sign in the bus about tips accepted, not many people tip the bus driver. Sorry, I tip if he does something for me besides driving from point A to point B, but if that's all he does, that was covered in my fee. SO, transfers for 7 would be $490. You saved about $50, but you'll need to add tips. HOWEVER, you got the service on your schedule, not on someone else's timing.[/quote']

Yes The $441.00 includes the tip and round trip (Also Privet Limo or Van Not a Bus

  6. Hi there,

We're going to be sailing on the Disney Fantasy out of Port Canaveral and I'm wondering if anyone has tips for a good hotel to stay at the night before and night after the cruise. I'm hoping to find one with free or cheap transfers from the airport and then to the terminal. I'm used to sailing out of Miami, so I'm a little out of my element here...

    Thanks very much!

We are a party of 7 Booked on the Fantasy July 26, 2014 arriving in Orlando From Dayton, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio and Los Angeles, CA.

We also booked a Co Mears Destinations Services (407-843-2404 / 855-463-2776) to transport us @ 10:30 am from the Hotel to Port Canaveral Disney Fantasy and pick us up a week later @ 10:30 am and return us to Orlando International Air port to fly Home

  8. Need to get our march 2015 disney cruise booked but having a hard time deciding which Caribbean itinerary. We are taking 2 children (10/11 at time of cruise). Anyone have any expertise's in this area? I have been to Cozumel & Grand Canyon before but my husband & kids have not. & castaway cay is a must. Thanks;)

We are booked July 26th on the Fantasy

We chose to go on the Eastern as the ports where not important (we have bean to all)

we are taking our 2 grand kids both Boys 2 and 4 and felt they would have more fun on the ship all 7 days The Eastern only goes to 3 ports and 3 at sea

  9. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to book connecting rooms on Fantasy of different categories? For example, I'd love to get a verandah room with a connecting room that does not have a balcony to save money and alleviate worries of my kids being on a deck unattended.

    Is that even an option?

We have booked the Fantasy for July 2014 with Connecting room Concierge Category T 1 Bedroom Suite with Verandah & Category V Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (also the wall between the Verandah can be opened up)

    (VARY EXPENSAVE)

  12. We had 12014 on the Fantasy which is also a 1-Bedroom right next door to the room you had! Like I said in my post, you could hang meat in that room if you left it on full cold! And that was the same situation on our other rooms on the Dream as well. This is the first time we had a problem on any cruise ship with air. Maybe the entire air handler in in 12504 is on the blink...

We have 12014 & 12016 July 26,2014 I hope we do not have any trouble with the A/C

  13. We also were on the Viking Forseti which was supposed to have sailed on June 1. This was a first "River Cruise" for us. As it turned out we were kept hostage in a cave as described by Lisa1a because our room with veranda was blocked by another Viking ship. The account of Lisa1a was accurate so I will not go through another whole description of the trip. I just want to emphasize that if we wanted to make a bus tour I would have booked a bus tour for a lot less money and real hotels!

Viking needs to come up with a better offer than 75% of paid cruise fare voucher. To be able to use these vouchers, one still needs to get to Europe or Asia, so there needs to be compensation for that also.

So far Viking has left a bad taste in my mouth!

    quit your complaining

If you where on a bus tour and the highway was blocked between the exits and you would have to walk over a field of at least 20 miles or sleep on the ? at least on the ship you had a good bed to sleep in and good meals (remember things happen)

  14. Hi:

I am a 58 year old veteran ocean cruiser but first time river cruiser.

We are going with another couple on a river cruise in late September 2014 that will end with our own side trip to the Octoberfest. We have narrowed it down to a couple of itineraries - one Vienna to Nuremburg and the other Prague/Melnik to Berlin.

Variations on both cruises are available on Uniworld and on Viking. I have a couple of questions:

I see that Uniworld has announced an all-inclusive policy for 2014. I assume that Viking is not all inclusive; am I correct?

Usually - on ocean cruises - all inclusive lines are a little more upscale. Would you say that Uniworld is more upscale than Viking?

Does anyone have an opinion of one of these itineraries versus the other?

Does anyone have an opinion on one of these cruiselines versus the other?

My wife and I will be taking our second river Boat cruise our first was Uniworld and was just Fantastic We chose Uniworld again for this July

Also I understand that Uniworld is much more Upscale from Vicking

  16. Hi fellow Buckeyes!

Joe and I are winter get away cruisers.

We try to go every January or February to get away from the Ohio cold. I really think it is the Ohio gray that we want to get away from. You know, everything is a gray color for months. The road, the sky the trees, everything.

It is so nice seeing blue sky and blue waters.

We are going on the Celebrity Summit January 31st. There happens to be a huge Irish festival on our sailing. 14 Irish bands will be playing in different venues during our cruise. I think we are in for a great time, high bar bill but great time!

    Hope this thread takes off!
