On the Encore this past February, both my husband and I were given the large box of water everyday.    We did not know we were entitled to it; the Vibe staff handed it to us the first day and told us we can get one every day.

This happened on the Getaway in October as well - it was quite a surprise and was not listed as a benefit but we happily took the free water.

It certainly isn’t included in every days Freestyle Daily.

I don’t recall ever seeing it mentioned on any Freestyle Daily that I have received (I just checked a sample and saw no mention of it).

If it wasn’t for these discussions on Cruise Critic and a couple of dailies posted by others I would be totally unaware of any ban.

Good to know!  I wonder if it's a ship by ship policy?  I saw it on our dailies on the Getaway in October.

I feel sorry for the folks who invested money at the port counting on cruise ship passengers…

lol you’ve never been to Bar Harbor, right? It’s a wildly popular destination within New England. The town is plenty busy and the lack of folks tendering in won’t be a problem for businesses.

First, no one is going to book a room because of a hot tub on the balcony and cancel if there is not one there. It is just an extra feature of the room.

The ships had a hot tub design, which they have used a similar design before on smaller ships. But it got caught up in some health inspection finding. They have a temporary workaround, should you want to use it. People are being given a generous compensation for nothing a feature of the room.

Why are you so condescending to everyone?

Bartenders are usually gone no later than 7 pm.

Agree with this - on our October cruise, the official Vibe bar closing time was 7pm but on not busy / colder days they sometimes closed a bit early.

My memory was that they had clamshells as well. But from my Getaway reservation under "Explore and Plan" they show "Vibe Beach Club – Cabana" and that photo but it does say not available to book though. But it is totally bait and switch if that is not what the Cabana looks like. My assumption is that this has been added to the Vibe on the Getaway.

This page is from my reservation for the Getaway on the 2/16/2024 sailing...

That’s really strange! I just got off the Getaway in mid October so I can confirm the Vibe does not currently look like that. Cruisedeckplans.com has photos that are accurate.

According to my Getaway reservation Cabanas are on the Norwegian Getaway(second Breakaway class ship) . But, this photo only shows two cabanas.

Not sure where that photo was taken, but it’s not the Getaway. Getaway has 5 of the clamshell cabanas.

We're in a Spanish mainland port today (well, just left) and are also in one tomorrow. There was nothing in the daily for today mentioning any charge, and no signs up, nor any extra charges made.

In October we were on the Getaway from Southampton to various EU ports including Spain and also had no additional charges while in Spanish waters.

ok, no need to haggle over exactly which decks.  I think what I've learned is "it depends".  It could be one of several decks. thanks everyone

Understood, just didn’t want false information out there. On our trip, it was on 5 more than it was on 7 but it was on 7 a couple of times - and for at least one port it was both (fwd gangway on 5 / aft gangway on 7) so you could pick 🙂

  10. I mean.... they aren't obligated to sell those cabins to anyone for anything other than the currently published price.  They can choose to let the cabins go empty if they don't get what they think is a fair return.  So, yes, they can do anything they like in terms of a bidding process and it's truly bizarre to think anyone would expect otherwise.
