The way you worded that, I have to ask. Do you think wording it as SOLO vs SINGLE makes a big difference?

No, not at all.  It's just that in my experience, SOLO is the way a person, sailing by him, or her self is referred to?  I don't think there is a single bit of difference....

  2. I cruise SOLO more often than not, simply because my wife has a little business, and it's very difficult for both of us to leave it.  Cruising SOLO is amazing, in that you can do what you want, when you want, and there are very few difficult decisions to be made.  You can ask the Maitre'd to seat you at a table with other SOLO cruisers, (no, they are NOT trying to "hook up", just enjoy the company at dinner).  You'll make fast friends, and if you want, you'll find others who will enjoy your company at the shows, etc.  Cruising SOLO is, IMO, the best way to "decompress", and just enjoy total relaxation.....

If you are in the same cabin, you will both get Priority boarding.  The invitation to the P/D party will be addressed only to the Plat.

This is true, but more often than not, your cabin buddy will be able to attend the P/D party with you.  In any case, I wouldn't worry about it.  Should be no problem.

  4. I always use "Park-n-Cruise" when we sail out of Port Canaveral.  Close to the port.  About 1/2 the price you'll pay at the port.  Good shuttle service, and overall a good experience.  I've parked there many, many times, and never had a problem.

  5. I used to participate in the "Talent Show" on every cruise when it was offered, but haven't seen if on any of my Carnival cruises, in well over a year.  When it was offered, there were folks doing almost anything you can imagine, from singing to dancing, to reading poetry,,,,and everything else.  It was a lot of fun, and generally, the audience enjoyed it.  So sorry it's gone.

  6. Just off "Miracle", and the playlist shows were:

    "Heart Of Soul"

    "Getaway Island"

    "88 Keys"

    "80s Pop To The Max"

Actually, some pretty good entertainment, considering that they are, indeed, "PlayList Production" shows.

Also, they actually had the volume of the shows at a loud, but not maddening level. Nice change from my last ship.

  7. I learned NEVER to book a cruise where Skip Lyons is the E.D. He is currently aboard "Miracle", and was "Skipping Out" on all his duties. He wouldn't even talk to me, and I only actually saw him once on a seven day cruise. I left him various notes, and messages, all to no avail. I enjoy Karaoke, and just wanted to ask him if it was possible to arrange more karaoke sessions, as we only had karaoke ONE NIGHT, and two afternoons, while the ship was in port, during the entire cruise. BUMMER.

  8. I've had adjoining rooms a couple of times, and agree that it's true that you can hear activity from next door, but frankly, not unless they're screaming at each other, or have the T.V. on extremely loud. (Not likely anymore, since Carnival doesn't offer much in the way of T.V. stations anymore.) LOL Bottom line, I wouldn't obsess about it, as it's likely that it won't be a problem at all.

  9. No form. Just compose a short letter asking for the OBC, giving your name, ship, sailing date, and booking number, and enclose a statement from your broker, or whatever showing at least the 100 shares of CCL stock. Fax, e-mail, or snail mail that to Carnival Guest Services, and you should receive a short note from Carnival that they have received the request, and are posting the OBC.

  10. I sail "Paradise" quite often, and have always found it to be an outstanding cruise. GREAT crew who looks out for the passengers. Shows are good, and if you can arrive a few minutes early, you won't have a problem finding a good seat. Food very good in the dining room, and good at the buffet. I don't "do" the comedy shows, so I can't comment on them. I never hesitate to recommend "Paradise" to my friends, and have never had any of 'em come back and complain.

  11. I'm Diamond on Carnival, and Platinum (I think) on Princess. I've always enjoyed the entertainment aboard Princess, and certainly don't ever find a lack of GREAT entertainment aboard. As noted, every cruise is a bit different, but I've never had a bad Princess cruise. I LOVE the buffet on Lido compared to Carnival.
